    Old faithfull

I ski a 93 PS 190 regularly - skis awesome! The guy had a 92 with 3000+ hours before he got this one
  2. I broke my ankle last summer and don't want to repeat that - i ordered a MOB system. I do grip training and general stuff like pushups, curls and cycling over the winter. That's about the best I can do with my busy work schedule
  3. what year was your Superlite TX and what did you end up getting?
  4. i guess I have no excuse now 🤦‍♂️
  5. I know this is an old thread, but when I was oil shopping the other day I noticed that Rotella T4 has gas rating on it again - says API SP. Just in case you like that brand. I guess you can tell it's winter LOL
  6. HO Hovercraft is nice for 16-20 mph. If you are looking to pull people faster the Radar Session is the ticket - it's happy like 22-28 mph. I have one that my son learned on a few years ago. I have skied both of this skis.
  7. I'm a 15-22 off skier. I didn't read the other comments yet but I will give my thoughts. What are you looking for different in the newer boat - is it Zero Off? Have you tried Z Box? I have Z Box on my 2003 Sunsetter LXi and my ski partner has it in his 2005 Response LXI. PP 9.3 and Z Box works well. I think both of these boats are great at 15 off and typical at 22 off. After skiing most boats that exist I think your response is 90% as good as any of them at those lengths. At our ski lake we have most of the boats you mentioned. I feel like the 1st Gen 200 is my favorite boat to ski behind but it is a close toss up to the 2014-2020 hull Mastercraft's that are also there. We have a newer Prostar and I don't feel that it skis as well as the 14-20 hull but we might just have a 1 off there. i would rate them in this order 1-Nautique 200 2010-2018, Nautique 196 TSC2/TSC3 with zero off 2-Prostar 2014-2020 3-Prostar 2021+ have not skied Nautique 200 2019+ hull, have not skied the new TXi
  8. that price is too high. That boat would be worth 10k to me as it is - old Perfect Pass and obsolete gauges. If it has the diamond hull then it will ski good - the 2001 Sunsetter VLX has that hull and this might as well. But a 99-04 Sunsetter LXI direct drive like I have will be many times better of a boat unless you have to have a V-Drive.
  9. I have a 2003 LXI in almost same colors. Great boat! Your price should be closer to 25k.
  10. i would say 16-18k - you will need to upgrade the PP to Stargazer which would require a new display - that is going to be close to $1000 and all that stuff that does with it is pretty useless. Wake might be slightly impacted with heavier engine - pretty sure that would have been a engine a barefooter would want. For reference a friend bought a 196 with 5.8 of same era for 10k a few years ago. Pretty boat!
  11. So which one did you end up getting?
  12. do you think every other year is reasonable for a 15 offer - my new rope probably saw 75 sets last this year. A few guys I ski with will get into 28 off behind my boat. Got an S Lines this year and it's really nice.
  13. I don't have any help on the upholstery - but that engine is a RTP-1 - it says right on the top of the flame arrestor. Most people just call it the RTP.
  14. well any 15w40 should be fine - but I would consider Mobil 1 15w50 - it has the more zinc you need and easily available at Walmart.
  15. i let my wife drive the course for a while with no one behind the boat - at least 3 outings - to me that is key to getting a feel and confidence. Well and i also don't have her pull my 1 friend who pulls really hard at the ball - i have to concentrate really hard when he skis LOL
  16. The main thing about 3-event version 9 is that it locks in a lot faster and you don't overshoot your set speed. I had wake edition s (ver 😎 and have upgraded both of the Malibu's i ski with the latest. Both are software's nice though.
  17. I have a Theory, which is a similar ski, and it is happier at 28-30 mph. 26 is about a low and I can ski it without feeling like I'm dragging. Give the ski some time I think you will really like it and make sure you are putting enough weight on your front foot by putting your knee over your front toe. I also have a Session in my arsenal
  18. I'm not a big fan of fixing CNC props - i would at least try another known good prop to see if it's just the prop and then buy new one for your main prop.
  19. If none of the normal things fix it look at getting the fuel injectors cleaned ultrasonically. I had to do this to my 03 Malibu that had a weird hesitation but ran great at all other times. In my case I did my filter, fuel lines, pickup and screen at the bottom of the fuel pump first. Ruled out the fuel pump by hooking a gauge while i was boating to watch the pressure.
  20. I just told my neighbor about this ski. His daughter is 8 and just learned slalom this summer on a really wide ski 52" ski. Is this ski pretty stable for that age? I would guess she is 70 lbs
  21. i don't think you are going to get a lot of response on that binding - i tried it 1x on an Obrien ski many years ago - it was just OK. I do run the Vector BOA on my ski and really like it.
  22. i agree with UWSkier - that dash design says it's a 2004 or 2005. I would say it's worth 15-20k and will ski fantastic
  23. have you greased the rudder lately?
  24. it will be fine, i would just ask for a soft pull - i find that easier for me.
