  1. Morton's toe may be an advantage in athletics. Advantage @horton
  2. Is it April already? Maybe ZBS rev-3 with mid-loops and 1mph increments? https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/17287/american-water-skiing-association-zero-based-scoring-rev-2-really-again
  3. Mmmm... not so fast. I'm pretty sure this has been discussed at length (pun) before, but this is the only thread I could find so far https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/11143/slalom-rope-angles @lpskier I believe you are deceived because you are considering the skier's motion only from the frame of reference of the boat.
  4. @C5Quest I'm wondering "what liability"? Liability from injury claims or patent infringement? Don't bindings come with the disclaimer "could cause injury or death" anymore? If they designed it so it fits a Reflex release I would think they could be liable if they sold it even if they don't claim compatibility. If it "coincidentally" fits into a Reflex release, yeah lawyers can see through that. Then I wonder about patent claims. Reflex didn't design the release after all... Definitely a cool design if it does fit Reflex, though!
  5. Magic c85 + magic water at John's Lake = new tournament PB for me today! 3@32/34 beating my prior PB by 5 balls. more to come!
  6. @Bruce_Butterfield I think you need to take another look.
  7. WLO can be done hand-to-hand, no need to wrap. It is NOT a WLO in 1981 or 2021. It would have scored in 1981 if it was listed as a separate trick. It would not score today because it is not in the book. Tricks not in the book score 0.
  8. That is a good question! I don't have any old trick tables with the ski lines in them. It would seem to be a repeat. Originally they were called body overs - maybe the one-footed version existed alongside the two-footed version with a different name for some period?
  9. @fu_man your Youtube link doesn't work, but I'm pretty sure what you are seeing is the original SLO. It's no longer a credit trick to do it like that.
  10. The poll about 'do you adjust' begs the question why do you adjust one way or the other. Two previous threads had seemingly contradictory advice. exhibit #1: /forum#/discussion/23606/water-temp-fin-adjustments-psa exhibit #2: /forum#/discussion/24819/mikro-just-rule-of-10
  11. I rotate through several pairs of Radar kevlar gloves, a dry pair every set and use my patent pending mini-pads or maxi-pads depending on the particular glove fit. I cut them from an old SkiWarm wetsuit. I ski 5 days a week and never a flappy callus. Calluses are practically non-existent.
  12. @Mastercrafter Wakeye has a function to control Go-Pro.
  13. Both of your phones have OIS on the rear camera.
  14. Ironically, the problem is optical image stabilization (OIS). This is a hardware feature of most phones these days and there is no way to disable it through software that I am aware of. The workaround for some phones is to use the selfie camera because that one doesn't have OIS. Unfortunately, newer phones are including OIS in even the selfie cameras. I don't know if this will work on an iPhone 8 or other phones, but here is an interesting solution for the iPhone 7:
  15. I think @Bruce_Butterfield has described the property that makes the ski so awesome for me - hard to overturn, but yet it magically gets super angle and speed off the ball even if you do overturn. I have habitually overturned my onside. I used to need to remember my key to ski at the next ball to avoid the consequences. I have not had to think about that at all since starting the season with the c85. If I do happen to overturn, the ski just keeps moving and allows me to get to the next ball relatively early even if I'm in bad shape. If I don't overturn it's even better. When I watch my videos, it looks like magic is happening! At a tournament the last weekend the boat judge commented "Wow! I didn't know you were a slalom skier!" ... and he was serious! (tricks has always been more my event). We didn't get started skiing until June and I have already passed where I have stalled out the last several years at the end of September. 4@28/34 on any ski, any size, very rarely getting all the way through the pass. Now I'm getting through 28 and working on 32 off and I fully expect that's going to happen soon, and I don't think I'm being overly optimistic. Thanks @adamhcaldwell and @AdamCord !
  16. My Masterline with my duct tape guard/float My US Gear with MOB guard I use both. Yeah, the Masterline is probably twice as heavy as the US Gear (EDIT: .8 vs 1.2 lbs). The weight isn't a factor that affects my skiing. I ski the same with both. I have suggested this a couple times before. Masterline needs to make a float/guard. I think they could easily do this with the guard they are selling. Make that mesh a pouch that holds a piece of foam. No way I'd spend $50 bucks on that current version. Make it float! Make it a customizable accessory that matches your Eagle vest.
  17. @Jody_Seal why do you have that 2018 Radar screwed to the fence?
  18. Life isn't fair @The_MS , but you are free to gain weight to compete with the 219 pounder.
  19. As long as your colors match, you're good.
  20. @keithh2oskier it fixes bugs, the most critical is the rollover problem that causes the long initial lock time and sporadic issues with losing the lock. See garmin description here: https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4066
  21. @BraceMaker technology services is my business. I am happy to upgrade anyone's PP or ZO puck for free (just like PP) if they pay the shipping. Just PM me. The firmware has to be older if you got the puck before September 2019.
