  1. I agree with @block, Accuski gave a great pull for an RPM based speed control. It was different but worked well. Many people didn't like it because of the foot pedal used to engage the system (it wasn't needed to shut down but could be used as well OR pulling back on the throttle just like PP). I never understood the complainers of the foot pedal because they all got in their cars at the end of the day and used gas and brake pedals to get home...

Pics of the optional back seats.
  3. Have you tried pushing the throttle past 'idle' and engaging with the foot pedal, the switch in the throttle can wear or get loose over time. Could be a bad pedal or likely a servo getting weak. I have some several spare parts and can help you with trouble shooting Message Me.

    2015 Carbon Pro

It has two 'seat wedges' that fit on each side of the step, they are low but work for kid or short cruise. Light weight and easy to remove. I can send pics later if someone else doesn't have them.

With boat in good hands in OR Horton's new 'mystery design' must be close to being delivered!?
  6. @gt2003, there are a lot of great used boats out there that will fit your needs and provide an open bow, most makers made a 'comp style open bow or play pin' during the 2000s, look around and if you can ski before you buy do it. You might be able to get something well under your budget as your 'entry inboard' and save some funds for new skis for you and GF. Besides SSLxi, Response OB, SNOB and MC197, there are open bow Centurions, MBs, Supras and as you have found Moombas. Good Luck
  7. If you are putting cameras somewhere why not put them underwater a few feet directly below the ball, that would give the best view of a ski either going around, over, or inside the ball.

Good Question @ozski .....AWSA has never approved more than one speed control so the monopoly is a problem they have perpetuated. And yes unfortunately even if there were two approved systems most boats would only have one and the way they are integrated into the boat displays it wouldn't be easy or inexpensive to convert to the speed control system that works that month!
  9. My early post about the announcers was not intended as a complaint about them it was a statement that it was very disappointing that once Nate was finally determined to be the winner the Masters management/event producer/or whomever ---never got word to the audience. They could have easily taken 45 seconds between Mens and Women's wake boarding to announce the final decision but they didn't at least I never saw or heard anything.
  10. Oh the announcers were a Constant commercial for Nautique along with some of the other sponsors, it was a little over the top but I understand that if it wasn't for Correct Craft, GM Marine, PCM and others an event like that couldn't happen so I was fine with taking it all in. Enjoyed when they put guests in the booth like Andy too. But there has to be some integrity in the competition and judging. I still highly recommend attending if you at all possible.
  11. I was there and they never even announced the final winner to the crowd. Only heard about it on the beach. Too bad it was a great event and some great skiing by both men.
  12. Doing some spring cleaning and came across these two OLD CIPA windshield brackets. Does anyone have any use for them before the go to the recycling bin
  13. I have heard there is also a course in at times that is just northwest of Brown's Bridge. OB do you ski at Bald Ridge ski cove?
  14. That makes sense to be able to fine tune how much pull you want.
  15. The trailing edge, drivers side. go little by little and test as you go to fine tune to your liking
  16. @scotchipman I had that same long dry suit for several years, it had an HO logo and a tag from "Heatwave" but it looks identical. It was the warmest, most comfortable suit to ski in. Cool idea making it a shorty, I liked the farmer straps inside and the linked upper bag. If you find anyone to make it again put me down for 2!
  17. Robert, freelance producer of corporate meetings and video programs. Oakland Co. Michigan about an hr north of Detroit. Live and Ski on Big lake with 8-10 other die hard 'buoy heads' we are mostly grey or bald now!. Learned to ski at age 6 growing up on Lake Lanier outside Atlanta GA but didn't get to spend any time in the course until I moved (transferred) to Michigan. Got the itch and can't stop scratching it. Want to to get back home to GA sometime soon so I can be like @OB!
  18. I thought I was going to really like the silver with black but I have to say silver and white looks very sharp. I was a fan of the original carbon fiber sides but I don't think that is an option any more. John have you asked or considered a different color Centurion emblem on side? Brushed Gunmetal or Canadian blue would look really cool and totally 'Pop'
  19. Not every company should go public, IMO the ski boat business if one of them. Investors want returns year after year, a private company can have 'ups and downs' but still make money for it's ownership and provide jobs.
  20. Engine vent on the engine box is on mine, it is a 2014 with 6.0L it may be for added air flow for the engine but I think it's on all CPs starting in 2014. If you get a 2013-14 I think you would not be unhappy with the quality or drivability, just like any other boat or vehicle the first couple years were not perfect (but still darn good) and the tweaks have mostly been covered above.
  21. It kind of looks like the the fin box is mounted to the ski farther forward and not on the sides---- the fin is 'floating' over the split tail, didn't Hexcel do some of this to Snow Skis 30 years ago?
  22. @6Balls, you do have a nice boat already in the MB and the wake is very close to the current boats, you might try a little weight in the bow or perhaps a different prop but that's about it. If you aren't using it in the course then it's probably just fine "as is" Just Ski It!
  23. I do like the 6.0L in my CP as well but it does seem there are 'diminishing returns' adding horsepower in almost all these boats if you aren't at high altitude, pulling tournaments or tandem bare footing is the 400+HP worth the price, most people are more than happy with the 5.7 aren't they?
