  1. Loved my 93 Falcon OB, that's a ton of hours for sure, I think you win just not having to replace an engine... or Hour Meter!
  2. While some older hulls have been equal to the latest generations I think the overall improvement in the quality of construction, interior design, plus fit and finish by all makers is worth going with the newer boats. (Some of the new cosmetic design and color choices might be suspect however! But to each their own)
  3. Unfortunately don't believe Correct Craft could produce a 196 near CP prices using their production process, labor and margins. So (unless they contract Centurion or Gekko to build em HA or just buy CP) I Love the 4 quality choices we have. A few years ago it looked like there might only two boats to choose from. With the possibility of Gekko back in the game next year things are actually looking up for the traditional ski boat market.
  4. Try UShip.com you can set up a bid request and different drivers can provide quotes and dates, most drivers include references and bios. I shipped my boat form CA to MI and had a great experience.
  5. 2000 Centurion Eclipse 1200 hrs, now at the family cottage 2014 CP - 220 hrs and ready for more.
  6. That was fun too see would be a blast to re-create it with some of the current Water and Snow stars. Bode vs. Chris P. perhaps??
  7. I agree with Chef23, dropping right from 36 to 35 made if feel super easy. I drop from 34 to 33 when I get frustrated and it really builds confidence. Horton I don't know how you ski in that water...I think I saw A Ripple near 3 Ball! haha Nice skiing, I'm looking at an inch of snow here thanks for rubbing it in.
  8. Thanks @rockdog I looked at that Y piece. But somewhere I saw that it couldn't be used on my PCM 6L with closed cooling and heat exchanger? I may will call Heatercraft and confirm the best way to go.
  9. On a related subject how many of you with heaters have auxiliary circulation pumps in line to create better heat at idle/low speeds? If so any suggestions? Separately switched or tied in with the heater fan switches?? Thanks
  10. Centurion switched to PCMs a few years ago and looks like they are going to stick with them for the foreseeable future. http://www.centurionboats.com/news/pcm-marine-engines-centurion.html
  11. Wonder if any of the other boat makers using PCM will consider other engines because of this?
  12. Nice shot and skiing @Razorskier1. Anyone else still have their boat in on your lake?? I am holding out for one or two more days in MI!
  13. The CP rear seats ARE like two large patio cushions, with bases actually, so yes not nice for cozy evening cruises but I like them for ease of use and removal. All the boats are so darn good now, I love the CP yet wouldn't turn down the the other three, BUT not willing to give up another $25K for them! (Also not sure MC is the only one with innovations but they do have a few very slick ones) Back to the point of the post, from all reports the MC has stellar lower speed 'learning' wakes. (As does the CP) but the SN isn't far behind, the Malibu just a bit behind the other three but more room and storage for the family. Good luck in your quest. (Maybe choose the one the wife and kids like best! haha)

    What antifreeze?

I have heard different opinions on winter storage, fogging and sea foam. Interestingly for my pontoon Yamaha four stroke it's recommended not to fog but to turn the motor over every 4-5 weeks of winter storage with the safety lanyard pulled. this coats the cylinders with oil. If you have access to your ski boat wouldn't this work just as well for a V8 ?? Pulling the impeller makes a lot of sense to me, thanks for the tip!
  15. Hey Horton I skied today on my old 9600 with a Horton Carbon fin, Signed No Less! Should I pull that baby off the ski and frame it?? (Talk about a crack pot!)
  16. Actually Drago the Accuski you described was the first version 6-7 I believe. I still have version 8 on my old boat and it works well, it only requires the foot pedal to be pressed for 1 full second to engage the pull up, it then locks in and runs until you either tap the pedal again or pull back on the throttle. A lot of people didn't like the using their feet so they created version 9 that did the same thing without a pedal but Perfect Pass had a lock on the industry by then. (I do miss the AS dash display, 4-6 lines of info easy to read.... I have to keep a set of cheaters in the boat for some of the sub menus on ZO! ha)
  17. Accuski did have a really nice 'auto pull up' that could be adjusted for 10 unique saved skiers, it really spoiled you as a driver, all you had to do was engage and drive straight. Agree that directly behind the boat.... smooth and progressive is the way to go unless you know the skiers really well, some guys like a hard 'hammer' pull up and others want a bit slower and softer get up... (most guys are way more picky then the ladies! haha) I also find that most of the women I pull almost feel like a wakeboarder get-out. They pop up so quick and easy, damn those extra 100lbs I carry!
  18. Well John, now you have a 'back up' system I guess---- you should put large 'floaty' thing on it or a key so it can't hide from you again??
  19. It was wedged between the front side padding on the observers side, must of slid off the dash and down about 6"......had the seat back open and happened to just see the edge of the silver ring, thought it was a coin but then I got it out and remembered you had mis-placed one.
  20. Is this worth a few sets next time I am in Cali??
  21. Thanks again very helpful. @Chuck_Dickey the ZO touch screen does appear to be"the bomb" but I was sold on the Carbon Pro... perhaps they will offer an upgrade to touch screens down the road or even incorporate into a judges display? I got the impression that Mastercraft did a lot of the work R&D on the screen and they get it as an exclusive?
  22. OK thanks I will give it a try later today.
  23. Still getting used to ZO in the Carbon Pro but I'm liking the pull over-all, started at B1. A lot of us like to run some passes at 33mph before going to 34. Can anyone tell me how you do this? Looking at the manual (I know real men don't read instructions) it seems to say that you page from Tournament to Rec mode and change the speed there, then can you switch back for driving thru the course??
  24. It was too cold to ski in Michigan this weekend but had Skiing on the laptop and football on the TV, it was great viewing. Put the ladies and mens finals on the big screen, they all make it look so easy. Great Job, nice interview work Mr. Horton.
  25. @jimski I have the vinyl covered bunks and they are work fine. my first ShoreMaster had pressure treated 2x6 encased in vinyl but they got wet and heavy over time. The aluminum is the way to go.
