  1. Always thought thought those Hydrodynes were 'sleepers' very impressive boats for for the time
  2. I haven't had a problem with the SeaDeck in the CP getting real hot in Michigan but we haven't had a real hot summer. Since i really use it the boat to ski the SeaDeck makes sense to me me in a ski boat than carpet and seems easy to maintain....I want the nice plush carpet in my pontoon boat......if it does get hot why not cool with down with some water it dries really quickly.
  3. The new ProStar is a great boat, love the touch screen interface and the convertible bow. Really depends on your situation, since I have a 'toon and SeaDoos at the dock I like the Centurion for skiing.....I agree with @Orlando76, but if the wife is willing to go new..... For the MC money you could go with a CP and a 22' pontoon and have the best of both worlds!
  4. Great job Larry you are improving every time I see you ski and a big shout out to the rest of the MI Novice group!
  5. Should be fun and interesting, not sure I would have the patience I would rather look for a 'turn of the century sleeper' craft, put a little money and time into it and be skiing! an MB comes to mind, or a Gecko or this one..... guessing it could be had for $8K based on the asking price. detroit.craigslist.org/okl/boa/5076024572.html
  6. We need many more skiers in our sport and we always try to encourage new skiers and introduce them to the course if they show any interest..... come to think of it we need just about as many drivers as we need skiers. And while driving does take some skill and practice I think the new boats and technology has made it easier for drivers to provide a quality pull.
  7. LAKE heaters.....the boat heaters and heated seats work just fine!
  8. You got me @LeonL ....I guess dump the ballast H20! I usually bring along a 25# and 40# weight bag for fine tuning at tourneys...... or move the obsrvr toward the center and give him a salad? (The tank is really designed for those two person practice sets)
  9. Looks like a nice boat from what we can see! Yes for an all round boat the RLXi is hard to beat, amazing storage and room and yet really nice wakes. Your old Tige probably did have better 15 off wakes it was basically a Centurion Falcon hull which had nice wake and spray charactericstics for the day. That design got enlarged in 2000 to Response & Lxi sizes and became the Eclipse and Elite.
  10. OK who got ahold of @OB's account and is posting a desire for a Carbon Pro!!?!?!?
  11. I agree, with your 'soap box' @Horton , too bad everyone can't just work together and "get along"
  12. Looks like a great event, has it been planned for a while? didn't hear anything about it until 4 days prior??
  13. @John Brooks the ballast tank in the Centurion is up under the bow on the observers side it is really designed to level the boat when there isn't an observer, or if the driver weighs a lot more than the observer. Works well. The CP comes with two bags and most of the time you find 1-2 of them put in the nose of the boat by drivers to help with slalom wakes and tracking, I have been told it also helps the trick wake a bit but I would think 100+lbs in the back and 3 crew people would really make a difference.
  14. Really Nice skiing Larry you looked better with every pass. Sorry you couldn't stay for the last set behind the CP and my wipe-out trying to get out around 6 ball! Looking forward to watching some great skiing during the record tournament at Hidden Lake in July.
  15. Are there any courses/clubs in Ashville or west of there?
  16. I have an Eclipse, it's a great slalom boat and good for family and kids with rear storage and deep front seat. However it's not great for wake boarding and it isn't a good 'big water' boat, I would consider the Malibu Sunsetter Lxi or the SN 206 also they are more solid and handle waves/rollers better....you can take water over the front if not careful. But if you are on a smaller lake and want a family sized slalom machine the Eclipse is worth a look....and used prices are very good.
  17. If so let me know, taking the CP Promo down for Saturday and Sunday but it might need a pull back to MoTown. Thanks RAWSki
  18. The Holdens do look sharp! It is sad to see them get shut down, where is GM going to get all their cool high power (but low volume) cars from now??
  19. Really interesting, not sure if selling Nautique and Centurion Wake/Surf boats in the same dealership makes sense though the prices aren't that much different are they? The Supremes might fit nicely as a budget line with some tweaking or even under a new name(s). Perhaps they are thinking like what the Pontoon makers are doing..... they build two almost identical boats with different names/graphics and slightly different features. That way two dealers in the same market can sell their products. I just hope my next Carbon Pro doesn't cost $75K!
  20. That is very impressive, I would be surprised to see anything today reach 52mph even without crew or skier. " Masters jump boat made it up to 52mph with the Acme 668 prop with a sizable crew pulling a jumper."
  21. I use a GC Limited with the Standard V6 and it does quiet well. I wish they had a towing mode for the 8 speed transmission but overall it does just fine. Had an ML350 before and it towed great but I find the Jeep a nicer overall vehicle.
  22. You can (or could) actually get a four vent heater from Heatercraft, same core as the the three but they added a fourth outlet to the box. I have had it in my boat for 15 years, I pump RV thru it until it comes back to the engine and never had a problem... lucky I guess based on others history with heater cores.
