  1. It can be hours for less than $5k! http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/boa/4937000228.html
  2. @swc5150 here ya go, a clean Ski Riffic just waiting for you and OB to test drive together! Looks in good shape, I love how the pylon is mounted thru the motor box, appears to be actually bolted to the top of the engine??
  3. @OB Why not have a two different brand boats on your two club lakes? No denying that SN hold value and have a proven track record, however both CP and SN use the same engines, give great pulls and feel darn solid from the driver seat, I don't totally agree with your logic but I know you have taken a lot of falls over years....
  4. In Michigan we (finally) had a nice weekend, got 5 of 8 dock sections in yesterday, hoist and the rest of the dock later this week, should be skiing by Friday 70 degrees forecasted but I'll be in a dry suit for sure.
  5. Yes the late 80's-91' MC were affectionately called 'aqua massages' in shorter line lengths and or in some wind! Next generation of ProStar is really hard to beat. MB 190s and 200plus are very nice too, similar hulls and big trunks for family gear. Centurion Falcon-Eclipse wakes are great for slalom of all ability and speeds.
  6. Nice boat at a great price, and already 'broken in'!
  7. I have had great luck with ACME props and nothing wrong with OJ either Eric is great. But I found ACME worked better on my boats and the guys I have spoken with at ACME are very helpful--- they know their props, and they understand the ski boats we all use then really 'fine tune' for your specific need. They have sent me a couple props to try and return no questions asked. It's great to have two quality providers
  8. I have sold two Goodes to the Korean's in LA as well goes to an apartment in Burbank I think. They paid me via PayPal in one day, I let the money sit for a couple days then transferred it to my bank account. Once it was in my account I shipped the ski and it everyone was happy. Their communication isn't perfect and I was a little suspect but it seems their money is good, I would sell to them again.
  9. Excellent point a great dealer makes a lot of difference, I know there are several promo drivers that may never interface with a dealer however that's not my situation...... Which is why I don't even consider a certain "big three" brand in my area based on other owners experiences..
  10. Agreed, snow and high winds in Michigan so much for the end of March "out like lamb"... (Next month will be better)
  11. I have to agree with @RazorRoss3 18 settings is just crazy but we have it for the foreseeable future. 3 seems like it should be plenty as long as it's consistent for everyone. I can't think of another sport that has that many participant variables. What is the thinking in going with C1 on the 6L boats? They way I understand ZO I would actually think A1 or A2 would be the proper choice?
  12. Has anyone experimented with a none ball-buoy? I picturing a 6-8" diameter foam swim noodle? Tied thru the middle top, since the sides are perpendicular to the water line I would think that the ski wouldn't climb up on top but push the marker either inside or outside the skis path.
  13. Popular hull during the 1990s. It's a version of the Centurion Falcon mold. I believe Fineline (the parent company of Centurion/Supreme) produced these boats for BlueWater Corp out of the Pacific NW in the 90's when everyone was getting into the DD business. Fineline made these boats for several companies and would tweak their Falcon/Sport/Lapoint models every couple years. Same basic boat is the first 4-5 years of Tige Boats.....open and close bows 2002 Fslm. A small company in GA called Python made or sold a few as well. I had a 1993 Falcon, surprisingly good slalom boat for the day. Wood Floor and Stringers but haven't heard of rot issues like the Supra's of the same era but it really comes down to owner care.
  14. Same here, some of the best times on the boat is when we put the boom on and teach a new person how to ski for their first time.... or the first time in 20 years!
  15. I have installed, heaters, cruise controls, gauges (oh my back!) and changed oil and impellers. But I actually take my boat in to dealer for full going over, oil winterize and suggested service. I have seen too many buddies DIY and then have little issues in the spring like busted heater cores, trans coolers etc. It's worth it for peace of mind and I like to give my dealer some work.
  16. Yes its a good site, two lakes so they can usually accommodate you. Talk to his wife, she usually keeps the schedule and can fit you in.
  17. Unless the state made a change recently, most permits in MI allow 'balls up' Monday Noon thru Saturday Noon (day & night). Taken down for the busier weekends. And the permit holder does not have exclusive rights to the water or the course so anyone can use the course or cut thru the middle of it if they want. We generally encourage new or potential ballers to try the course and understand it. Chat them up, explain the process and rotation. It helps to have more "course-friends" on the public water. Good luck with your revamped site!
  18. Got ya, yes that is a problem, the best sinking courses I have seen in Michigan are in lakes without many weeds, old gravel pits with plenty of depth.
  19. For your site in the recreation area have you considered a 'wally sinker' course. This would seem like a good solution if you can not convince the DNR to let you leave it up all the time. Some tanks of air or or small compressor, and without other traffic there shouldn't be many issues once it's set up.
  20. I "drank Horton's Kool-Aid" and took the Centurion option, makes a lot of sense. If you want a great pull, and save $10K - $20K, the MC and SN have some very cool options but they aren't worth that much IMO. (OK actually it's my third Centurion, have had great luck with them and my dealer. My 2000 Eclipse had great slalom wakes, but the CP tracks better and is the perfect slalom tug for my needs.)
  21. Love MB's. Great boats their quality is top notch, was sorry to see them go away from DD but it made sense for the company, I was a big fan of the 200Plus and hear that Mike B. still has the molds and will build one to order.
  22. @MISkier‌ You just described spec'd and exactly priced the CP!
  23. I give credit to MC for creating a boat that is both an open or closed bow and provides first rate wakes, space and ergonomics. (Of course doing that comes at a cost). I have actually gone from a step thru OB when kids were small to a walk-over as they grew, now I have a closed bow because the I find I rarely have more than 3 people in the boat and kids aren't too interested in skiing -- or even being seen --with "old guys". The LXR and TXi in the same line up without a clear price difference is a little confusing but It's great to have some ski-able options.
