  1. I’m confused on the referred Mastercraft brackets, surely the swing and rise on MC is different than Brendella? The Allomarine ones are nice but don’t jack around getting them from Alloy, he’s a one man operation and is busy. If you get ahold of him be ready with your credit card because communication with them can take awhile.
  2. May want to call Vince at SkiDim and see what he has to offer. Good company that’s usually quick to offer insight.
  3. A lot of knowledge on CCF but the Richard Cranium over there will lock your thread if it isn’t a Correct Craft.
  4. Wood stringers have great versatility. Easier to rebuild/modify due to great screw retention. Composite construction requires more thought, however you’re less likely to rebuild a previously built composite boat, duh. Wet foam is always a concern and is typically where the wood stringer rot originates. Sure like the idea of a top mount starter chevy, more so in a Shamrock but either way, much better than the counterpart. The name Copy Cat may be generic but there’s a Copy Cat in Tavares, FL that advertises a lot in marine upholstery. They’re located a couple country miles down the road I live on.... pretty certain I never heard positive of them but then again, damn near impossible to find a half decent upholsterer these days. @Jetsetr I can always count on you being one of the 3-1/4 guys appreciating old school, carburetion, and give logical motor advice ?
  5. Not much love for old school boats on this forum. But there’s about 3-1/4 of us who appreciate old school. Solid advice given already to check for stringer rot. I’d drill in a few places then epoxy over. Even with rotten mush, good glass layup will keep it together, emphasis with good. I’m not familiar with many boats outside the Ski Nautique world but Brendella was better than most. Copy Cat upholstery? As in Eustis/Tavares Florida area? Yeah.... research well grasshopper and do your homework.... and by that I mean who else do you have in your area? What is your area?
  6. Sponsorships aside, my problem is how defensive some “fathers”/owners respond. I really like Brenda with Intow and how she updates you with your order and seems like I always got a little extra.
  7. I promise the map won’t bite. My 4year old is intrigued with them. You can do it. ?
  8. To quote a Goode skier that I skied with a few times, “Goodes are a like a hot new girlfriend, fun to ride when it’s new but after a few months, time for a new one.”
  9. Carpet hides ALOT of imperfections in the floor. Life expectancy seems to be about the same as carpet. What’s wrong with keeping it original and install new carpet? The old school in me has not warmed up to sea dek, it’s kinda like baggy pants.
  10. @Wish I think my ‘93 had that same system as that ‘97 but mine was missing a few pieces when I bought the boat.
  11. @BraceMaker true. Either way, seems a no brainer vs. cutting the cable under load. Funny how boat lift construction and techniques vary upon region.
  12. Like suggested, Why not just jack it up with 4 bumper jacks? 2 might do the trick. Then massage cable loose. And fix the limit switch and add a redundant one.

    Re-power

@Steven_G are you saying PCM is out of 5.7 engines? Did you call? If so, wow, we knew that was coming but dang took like a year? And just to be clear, you are looking for a complete bobtail engine? If so Mighican Motorz wouldn’t be much help as I believe they’re just reman long blocks as I believe anybody would be. You might want to get in touch with Skip Dunlap, it seems he frequently comes across complete take outs that are still strong. Pfft, this ZO crap is way over rated.
  14. Friends don’t tell friends theyre 62.
  15. Good to hear! FFM are the BW transmission guru’s and Joe is usually good at online/phone help. I’m guessing he’s unaware of this forum though. PCM and CC is in my backyard yet a guy halfway across country is the one to go to.
  16. Just to clarify boat runs then shuts off including dash then starts back up with no problem? Easiest place to start is kill switch but I wouldn’t think that’d kill your dash, maybe it does on a BU. Wonder if there’s a short on the engine somewhere. At what RPM range does this happen?
  17. @DW is a nicer guy than me as he really touched the safety items that most non-marine guys are completely unaware of such as specific fuel lines at specific location within the system. Often times a mechanic can be fairly judged by a starboard picture of a carbureted marine engine. But at a rate of $50 an hour you’ll have money left over to fix those things.
  18. @DW kinda like taking apart a Morse shifter for the first one or 5 times. That spring and ball never fails to launch.
  19. I’d try calling. My experience is 1/10 emails to a business gets a response.
  20. https://fantasticfinishmarine.com Joe will probably be able to set you up.
  21. There’s a difference in auto vs marine. For safety sake I hope he’s aware of the differences, surprisingly not many do.
  22. Keep in mind riser gaskets have a direction to them for port and starboard, or at least PCM does and I assume Indmar too. Is your mechanic a marine mechanic?
  23. Evidently that calcium is a little high according to the automotive experts of Google hut makes little to no difference. Calcium is used as a detergent. What I don’t get is Shell Rotella advertises 1100-1200 ppm of zinc. This analysis states 684ppm and it states Shell Rotella. Somewhere somebody is wrong.
