  1. Love both. Done both all my life. If I had to pick, I’d take waterski. I live at the wrong latitude. ?‍♂️
  2. @SDNAH2OSKIER has it, and as long as the prices for new are high, it will prop up the used market. I doubt I’ll ever sell my ‘00 SSLXi. I just don’t see anything like that anymore.
  3. The ‘00-04 Sunsetter LXi is a great choice. Lots of space, a great quality wake, and not so likely to chili-dip the bow (though it’s still possible)
  4. Done many times in my younger years and we only skied by moonlight. Lots of fun and typically involved members of the opposite sex and skinny dipping ?
  5. My favorite t-shirt has my avatar (Life is good guy - skiing) on the front. I bought it a few years back from a water-ski club, who's name I can't remember. For reasons I won't get into, I need a replacement and I can't find it. Does anyone know where to find one? Thanks!
  6. @Lieutenant Dan what are your final settings? I ordered the upgrade and will be installing tonight on my '00 SSLxi with same engine.
  7. @jimmyjamesbrown maybe. Mine beeped all the time, so that might not be the trick
  8. Yep. I had the same beep on my ‘00 SSLXi and it was the oil sensor. Easy fix. Join theMalibucrew.com and you’ll easily find lots of resources, including how to fix the beeping.
  9. I love my ‘00 SSLxi. The wake Is Great and it’s very roomy. $22k is $16.5k is, so price is about right. With that many hours I agree that a compression test would be a good idea.
  10. Not as cool as driving an inboard, but I was in Austin for a conference. I had a conference call that started early so I was customer #1 at the hotel Starbucks. I’m not a Starbucks guy, as I only want black, mild/medium coffee. I am very friendly, especially to service workers so I was chatting with her as she got things ready for the day. When it came to order she informed me that the 1st customer every Wednesday gets a free cup of coffee. Don’t know if it’s true every Wednesday, but it was true for me and I was very grateful!
  11. I made the switch while a teenager. My dad said that because was right handed I should ski rff. I switched to lff after reading an article in waterski magazine during my 3rd summer and immediately improved. That was a looong time ago.
  12. First pull of the season yesterday. 46deg water; 48deg air. It was great!!
  13. I’ve never tried trick skiing. It just doesn’t look that fun. I’ve never jumped cuz I’ve never had a ramp and frankly, it looks like an injury waiting to happen. Slalom is fun and accessible.
  14. I love my ‘00 sunsetter, and $12k is a steal!
  15. but last night was a beautiful sunset, so there’s that!
  16. Coldest day in Wi since I’ve lived here. I’m with @UWSkier ...I gotta get out of here!
  17. It was like that earlier this season and you could skate the whole lake. It’s not as good now, but it’s still pretty glassy.
  18. Yep! Thanks @UWSkier for hosting me and going out for a (slightly) chilly January ski on a canyon lake in Az. It was great!!
  19. You might try Themalibucrew.com with this question.
  20. @SkiJay I gotta say your explanation on the website kills me. I paraphrase: “one Sunday morning I’m enjoying my first cup of coffee thinking of how to be able to ski better...holy crap! Has anyone ever noticed the weird bumps on the pectoral fin of a humpback whale?...” Love it! Serious question, though, will this be more impactful for all levels of skiing or really only be a measurable difference for high-end ballers?
  21. @Horton I’m with @oldjeep. Even the smart buyer will see that a new electric boat won’t be LESS expensive than its gas powered counterpart.
  22. I’m with @Drago plus you get to hang out and do other fun stuff in a boat!!
  23. I’m also surprised by the ages of these boats. I thought my ‘00 would be one of the oldest.
  24. My wife and I like to travel and go to the theater. I snow ski when I can get to a decent location (that’s me and 2 of my kids on thanksgiving day). I also have an old Jeep that keeps me tinkering. Generally in the off-season I work, workout, dream of warm weather, margarita sunset cruises and early morning sets.
  25. @teammalibu sorry for the late response. I’m on Lac labelle in Oconomowoc wi.
