  1. @skiinxs - do you know what the part # or name is on Nautiqueparts.com? I see on Miami Nautique website a “Throttle base assembly” - I hope that’s not it cuz it’s $675!
  2. Is the throttle body an easy swap out? Thanks
  3. Spoke too soon, just went to put it away on the lift and it was dead again, but by chance just after I had hit the start button I giggled the throttle and it immediately started to crank and I got it running. So good news it’s clearly related to the neutral switch, so I at least know the source of the issue.
  4. Yes - I use the red kill switch at night to prevent draining the battery. I got it running finally, in the end I suspect I originally had a bad battery, but then created a new problem - my starter and/or neutral switch wiring had gotten a little wet, I had put an xtreme bilge heater in the engine compartment before I left for the work week, it was right by the starter and the neutral switch on the tranny. I noticed some moisture/wetness on the transmission just below. The temps in Maine this past week going from 32 - 55… So, having removed the engine cover and had in the sun at the dock for a few hours while I worked on it, it fired right up as it should when I came back down from lunch. I was about to try and jump the starter but for giggles tried to start one more time and she turned right over. Before lunch I had tightened up the connections on the starter, ground, etc, and confirmed I had 12v at the starter, but earlier attempts at starting after those changes still failed. I also pulled the plugs and attempted to turn it over to rule out hydro lock. According to the dealer that can happen with the 6.2 motor in very cold water. One final observation that points to the neutral switch is my button to rev it in neutral no longer works, it was fine when I ran it in the drive way to dewinterize it. Only time will tell if I am in the clear…
  5. Thanks - Alas since I thought I was all set I didn’t bring my multimeter up. I did inspect the connections around the starter and they all seem locked in and I don’t see any significant corrosion. One other oddity is when I bought it the Polk head unit that’s normally bolted to a piece of fiberglass that’s glued to the under side of the glove box had “unglued” itself and was hanging by the wires, I glued back, so I wonder if a wire in there got compromised. Hard to think that would stop it from starting.
  6. Hi All, I picked up a 2018 SN 200 Team edition with the H6 motor in the Fall, ran it once then winterized. now after running a few times in the Spring it won’t crank. I ran it my driveway to dewinterize, ran fine. Then stopping and restarting a second time was a delayed, more labored start, but started. Launched boat, started okay, skied once. Next morning it won’t crank. I hear the fuel pump come on, then absolutely nothing. I had a spare battery (granted underpowered from a CCA specs) I swapped it in, boat started up, I skied, shut it off, won’t restart until I turned off everything drawing power, allowing us to get back to the dock. I replaced the battery with a brand new interstate, started and ran great, skied two times on Sunday. Put the boat back on the lift, turned it off and then flipped the kill switch at the driver feet. Boat is on a covered lift. Came back 5 days later, boat won’t crank, same behavior as before, keypad and dash has power, fuel pump kicks on and then nothing when trying to start. I have: - double checked the safety lanyard - The boat does not have a code programmed into the keypad - moved the throttle in and out of gear to make sure it wasn’t engaged. - Recharged the battery ( it was drawn down from the start tries) - Put a noco jump starter on the battery - no change - No codes or errors on the diagnostics screen - When running I get 14 volts, so I believe the alternator is working - Visually inspected the fuses in the engine compartment that are in with the relays - Replaced the ignition relay as it looked a little cooked, the auto parts store only had one, will get another to replace the starter relay tomorrow. Any ideas of what else to try? Unfortunately I am hours from the nearest CC dealer. Thanks
  7. Ski-it-again has a few that match your criteria. Sometimes Correct Craft dealers have 1 or 2 only listed on their website…. That’s how I found my first 2 boats.
  8. Like this? This is from SignPerformance on Etsy.com - poor slalom form I know!
  9. Skiing on a public lake I only spin if I think another boat will try and steal the course from me while I rest! Dropping also keeps my wake coming from a consistent direction for others out and about on the water.

    E-15 Fuel

My hope this just allows stations that already sell E15 outside of Summer months to now do so year round. Otherwise, I can’t find ethanol free gas where I am, so if I have to buy cans of VP racing non ethanol fuel from the local power equipment dealer to dilute it back to E10, that would be crazy $$$
  11. How about making the face of the RWP as you look at mounted from clear plexiglass so you can visually inspect the state of the impeller without removing it.
  12. I found @ScottScott’s model of being x ft outside of 2-4-6 buoy line based on speed really helped me - this concept was one of many great coaching tips I got from skiing with Jodi Fisher.
  13. Photo credit: Chris Miller, ski paradise, Acapulco earlier the sun was lined up exactly coming down the boat guides.
  14. On my 2018 the radio is in the glove box and the head unit is bolted underneath to a fiberglass plate that is glued to the underside of the glove box in the storage area. I can grab a few pictures if that’s helpful. Keep in mind the 2019+ 200’s are a scaled down version of the 2010-2018 200’s from a features and trim perspective.
  15. The 68” and 69” skiis are IMHO to big for you given you weight so I suspect that’s part of why you liked the HO better as a 67” should be a better match.

    Tower on a 200

Might want to post your question on planetnautique.com as there are more folks with towers on there…
  17. My guess is the jar will definitely leak at the seal of the lid well before you get to the desired depth of 70 ft, at 30 ft your already at 2x atmospheric pressure.
  18. On my old 2006 196, the original PP version 6.5 was easy to overshoot if you aren’t right on with how you throttle up. I upgraded to the latest GPS based Stargazer version and that in combination with mapping the course is a huge improvement for 30 mph and up. Upgrading to StarGazer is plug and play, i did it myself. The other issue you might have is the original PP gauge had moisture problems and eventually go bad, mine would fog up and become unreadable. That said, you can still over throttle it with SG - unlike with ZO where I’ve never seen it happen based on my experiences with my friends 2017 ProStar. Upgrading the 2006 to ZO will require upgrading the ECU on the engine, but the Excalibur engine in the boat is DBW. PM me is you want to talk about it.
  19. Lots of good tips already mentioned, the one small thing I think will help a lot is when you drop a ski drag the instep of the freed foot in the water behind you as a rudder to help you adjust to the balance of being on one ski. Once you are comfortable skiing on one ski, then transition to learning the deep water start on one. Learning the deep water start can be a real challenge, so being comfortable once you up is super handy to avoid the frustration with finally getting up on one after dozens of tries to only fall moments later. Learning to drag that back foot with help you with the deep water start on one as you use the same rudder technique while getting up. Good luck!
  20. @6balls - Dan Gable gets the award for the most impactful person on a sport as a competitor and coach IMHO. more world and Olympic champs came through the Iowa program he built, the dynasty of college wrestling programs. But as mentioned earlier, the Russian Greco-Roman wrestler Aleksandr Karelin won 3 worlds and 3 gold medals, and only lost a single match in 12 years of international competition, when he was upset by American Rulon Gardner while going for his 4th gold medal. So given Gable only won a single gold I think the clear winner is Karelin. My favorite quote is from Gable: “Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They are made from sweat, determination and a hard to find alloy called guts.”
  21. @MillerTime38 - are you referring to honnold or LeClerc? LeClerc wasn’t even well known in the climbing circuit until the documentary called “the alpinist” came out, another must watch it you want to see insane athletic achievements that will probably never be repeated. That said, if I made a list of objective criteria to try and rank athletes (speed, endurance, agility, strength, pain tolerance/mental toughness, intelligence, cleverness, etc) the one criteria that would not be on my list is “popularity”.
  22. @taynton - yes, what LeClerc was doing was unbelievable, I was a pretty good ice climber back in the day, I couldn’t believe some the mixed routes he pulled off and how at ease he was.
  23. Hands down the greatest single athletic achievement goes to Alex Honnold for free soloing (no rope) free rider on El Cap in Yosemite. 3,200 feet of rock climbing at an unrelenting difficult level. Watch National Geographic’s documentary called “Free Solo” if you haven’t already.
  24. If you do set one up, use the solid foam boat guides from skiertoskier.com as they can take multiple prop hits and when a boater runs over one they thump the boat hard, which hopefully makes the boater think twice about doing it again…
