  1. I'm by no means an expert but I did notice a few things. Watching the video on my phone it looks like 22off is putting you right on the rooster tail. Maybe try 15 for less of a bump. Your letting up your cut through the wake and it's causing a pretty big bounce leading into the second trough. Holding that edge just a little bit longer would benefit you greatly. As you get more and more comfortable with pulling through the wake, start to work on getting further out before you start you edge to turn back in. This will help better position you for the buoy width in the course. Your off to a great start! Keep progressing!
  2. Dave Reinhart....you never know what he's going to do next
  3. +1 for water filled buoys. much safer than having something hanging below in my opinion.
  4. @arigold22 that's what it looks like. @unksskis is correct, front knee over ankle. It will feel weird as hell but the rotation will surprise you.
  5. Your video looks just like mine. I focus on front foot weight but seem to revert back to my wakeboarding days right before loading the line and butt skip just like you. When I keep my weight on my front foot my rotation is faster and i land upright with a slight edge back towards the wake preventing me from falling backwards. Keep practicing!
  6. Congrats man! Great skiing! I know the feeling. I ran my first ever 32@34 late last season. Was running a lot of solid 28's but just couldn't get 32 to fall. Once I finally did my confidence shot through the roof and I ended up running it 2 more times before the season was over. I have very little experience at 35, only advice I can give is really work hard for a good gate and ball 1. Slack issues are compounded 9million percent as the rope shortens.
  7. Great stuff guys. I will pass this info along. Pics really help! Thanks!
  8. @rodecon we were looking at tower bimini. lot of great designs and color options. @mopowpow looked at those as well. Both sites had nice stuff. Any thoughts on whether the 6 pole design is better than the single pole with straps? Strap system looks to collapse easier.
  9. We finally got in the course this morning. Wind, high water, and debris have really put a damper skiing this year in NW Ohio. Weather looks good tomorrow morning as well! score!
  10. A little background. My dad has a 1988 Ski Nautique that he has had since new. Boat has 1950hrs and has been kept flawless with the only issue being the original interior is starting to crack. Due to some recent skin cancer scares he wants to put a Bimini on it for added sun protection. He's searched a lot of sites and has seen a lot of different styles. The boat is kept on a lift so being able to collapse below the windshield line is a must. He's not opposed to paying a little more for custom made if it has a nice clean look. Does anyone have some suggestions or pics for reference? Much appreciated!
  11. I have a D3 X7 65.5 and run the stock settings on fin, wing, and DFT. Ski feels good on both onside and offside turn. I run a leverage Front and RTP so its not quite the same as a double boot. I would have him focus on form and technique before adjusting ski settings. Get a lot of reps on the ski to understand how it behaves and start making repeatable turns on both sides.
  12. Is Masterline's website down? Haven't been able to load the site lately via mobile or PC.
  13. @Bruce_Butterfield can definitely provide some insight my 7yr old daughter learned on a connelly JR slalom from a combo. Worked really well for her. Once she was up, turning, and crossing the wake Bruce recommended going to a bigger ski. I put her on my old 64" KD7000 with kid size bindings this year. She's 8 now and doing really well on the bigger ski.
  14. naming the band "Triple Panda" might get you the coveted triple panda
  15. Now that's ironic.....I'm 90% sure this ski has Corey's signature on it from the 2002 Nationals telling the original owner "5000, Get it! 2002 Nationals, Corey Pickos" Its faded quite a bit but i can still make most of it out
  16. @dchristman should i install inserts for the front binding? on other skis i've just went right into the ski.
  17. @dchristman Perfect! Thanks!
  18. Just got a new to me D3 Trick ski. Its a 2002 custom 454 and the original owner had some weird custom binding plate on the front. None of the holes line up with the standard D3 leverage binding plate. I can fill the holes with epoxy, but how to i find right location to mount my plate? All of the skis I've owned already had inserts in place or the bindings already on. Thanks!
  19. good feedback. Thanks Guys. @RazorRoss3 we don't mind the public waters. It makes you really appreciate the glass waters when you get them.
  20. My brother is looking to upgrade his old Connelly concept to something a little newer. He's a 160lb 34mph skier that can occasionally run a 28 and has gotten a few at 32. Our course is on public water and conditions are not always ideal. Since he only skis 34mph would he be better off getting a ski that was designed for 34mph vs. a 36mph ski? Example Lithium Senate vs. Lithium Vapor? Or is it not really that big of deal. Any input from you guys that have been on hundreds of different skis would be greatly appreciated. We have a very small crew and we don't upgrade skis very often.
  21. @MISkier is that an old connelly shortline you're on?
  22. @ozski probably not many but I was one of them. our portable course is on public water. Like many, slalom is best in the morning before it gets busy. We pretty much trick the rest of the day when the water is not as ideal. Its fun playing around on a trick having fun vs. sitting on the dock watching everyone else until the water calms down. When we bought our used 07' 196, tricking was the sole reason I had a dealer add the hydro-gate feature. Glad to hear the new Malibu wake still works for trickers.
  23. Our river skis the best during late summer when the level can be lower due to rainfall totals. Depths are 5-8' and taper to a few inches near bank. Course flattens out quickly after each pass even if you are turning and burning. @Mark_Matis one and a half feet seems crazy shallow to me!
  24. +1 for the 303. Have used it for the last 10 yrs or so. Very happy with that product.
