  1. @lpskierMy son in law is from Ottawa and is asking where the three sites are?
  2. You might want to run an ad on SIA in this catagory. Hope you find a pull. https://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Pulls
  3. Connelly Carbon V Click on the above link to take you to an ad for a Connelly option. Virtually any ski you pick that has been made in the last 3 yrs will ski better and with so much less effort than your old ski. I wish I could be there for your first ride because your smile will be ear to ear. I covinced 2 ski buddies to get off their Triumphs and both said they regret not doing it earlier. Both went with the Carbon Omni being HO brand loyal.
  4. You have a picture. Nothing for a welder / fabricator to whip up.
  5. Yes I agree the bigger ski had a whole new set of required timing parameters that I just was not willing to spend the time on. It sure felt fast though.
  6. I normally ski a 67 and weight in at 180 -185 when in ski shape. Last spring I was dealing with an ankle issue so I wanted to take it easy the first month or so. I hopped onto a 2012 69.5 inch Strada I have around for biggers guys. I was generating so much speed I could not slow down for the turns. No matter how much I got on the front or it and I was running 12 deg wing to try help. Some of the biggest crashes in the turns I have ever had. This did not help my ankle so I gave up. I get the acceleration part but how does he slow it down enough to turn, that's my question.
  7. FYI As of late we have had issues with new Starrett brand digital calipers failing to read accurately. This was the 12 inch model used in our machine shop but the electronics likely are used for all the lengths. When compared to the reference set of mechanical dial caliperes it was not uncommon to get 0.010" variation between the two. The Starrett did read consistantly for the given measurement being made however it was wrong. My Mitutoyo calipers after 30 yrs of use and wear are seeing up to +/- 0.002 variation, too much for machine shop use but close enough for my fin set ups
  8. It is so sad that after only 10 yrs the part has failed.
  9. I am back in the gym going hard to make amends for my eating sins. Ski season will be here quicker than we think.
  10. The Dec 29th posts must be reposts as I have several of them bookmarked from last month. This is my frontrunner if I was updating from my 97 BB. Link
  11. @LuzzPlease report back when you get out to see it live. It would be interesting to see a video like the example on the Wahoo Wave website using a surf boat running down the length of it rather than the low wake boat that they used. It potentially looks good for your application.
  12. @liquid d Yes it is when you are cross checking an opponent.
  13. R2 is my #1 ride. 34mph and now getting into 38. Steady incremental improvement as I get better with my technic. #2 is a HO Omega, feels like it has the potential to go deeper but I struggle with consistancy on it.
  14. Snow on the ground this morning. We are done for the year.
  15. I have PP/Zbox running A2+ on my 97BB. As well I have been skiing on a 2009 196 with the updated ZO on A2 and I really don't feel that much of a difference. It certainly is not enough to affect my scores or make me consider spending money on a newer boat.As my ski partner says-is it a want or need.
  16. I agree with @disland on the spraymaker recommendation of do not move the fin.Like @BobF I believe I have "my optimum for me" settings and for the first year ever I have not touched anything as the water cooled. Have gone from 82F to 54F water while going from no suit to up to a full neo drysuit. Yes each time I changed suits I had to adjust me but in the end I just stuck to my keys and the performance came back.I touched 38 for the first time ever in a full neo drysuit last Sunday so I hope next year that remains as the water warms and the suits are off.
  17. The sad thing is I saw more skiers mid mornings behind wake/surf boats than slalom boats this year. (With terrible form I might add)None of them ever stopped by the course to have a look, watch or ask any questions. With them skiing 75' ropes on those barges they will never really progress from a novice level.
  18. First year ever that I have not been in a drysuit at this time of year. Water temp is holding at 61F and skiing @ 1pm air temps have been around 70F. Using an Oneil Psycho One long suit and it is almost too warm. I have not seen another boat out in weeks so I feel like I have won the lottery.
  19. I used a 3/4 inch spacer under my Strada front boot with longer screws for over 2 seasons with no bolt failures. I used stainless steel machine screws.
  20. @MDB1056 How about some pictures of the spray pockets with the boat on the trailer. If the boat is level on plane and you have that weird spray there has to be something going on with the hull.Last nights ski session we un-leveled my boat (97 BB) and we could not recreate that spay you have going on. Yes it changed some but nowhere near what you have going on there.
  21. Just a thought but do you suppose that Cc uses RH rotation to somewhat level the boat when running with only a driver? I am lucky that with my wife driving alone my 97 BB is dead level. Now back to the problem......is there any issue with the left side chine???? My buddy put his 98 BB into storage last year and they damaged the drivers side chine with a forklift. To hide it the idiots took an angle grinder to the hull to hide the damage. He has the same spray issue on the drivers side with the boat dead level 36mph.We plan on making some lemplates off the good side and trying to build up the damaged area to see if it can be restored.......nothing to loose at this point.
  22. @JayShower They are using rock climbing helmets. One is using his old downhill ski racing helmet.
  23. We have the advantage that water does give a bit unlike ground, grass fields, head on impacts, etc of other sports however the speed probably more than makes up for it. I personnaly have had concussions playing other sports and have rung my bell more than a few times from skiing.I would agree that concussions are overlooked espesially by those who have never experienced one, but once you have you know it when it happens again.I have ski partners that now ski with helmets because of their concussion knowledge coming from partaking in other sports.
  24. @greyline Awesome work around. I just love seeing this kind of effort to keep older stuff working.
  25. @bbruzzese Have those skis been listed on SIA? Or would you prefer a PM? I have a friend whose kids could use both of those skis.
