  1. Ugh the boat has been out for 2 weeks now and it's killing me. This is my first winter after having a non combo ski and actually trying to improve. I don't know how I am going to make it!
  2. Didn't ski anywhere. Had to take the boat out on October 1st because that's when the dock owner takes the dock out. Hope to haul to the lake 1 or 2 more times before we shut it down for the year. :(
  3. I do not have a bottom picture but it is orange on the bottom. You can see some on the edges in this picture.
  4. Will there be a way in the future to not pick skiers that are not going to be there? I have one of my men's and women's thatg I have picked that are not skiing this weekend. Taking a huge hit in points.
  5. I would like the video in addition to the written as well. I can't always watch the videos depending where I am, and I also have a short attention span.
  6. 1. Deep water start without a deep v handle. 2. 96% successful starts this month. 3. A few good wake crossings.
  7. Yeah it's an I/O. I have briefly thought of adding weight before, I should really do that. We did move the battery up to the front so that's something. You are correct with almost all of my crashes being at the wake crossing. I get quite a bit of spray in the face crossing as well which I thought was because I was so flat, but it could be the wake itself. As for lots of crash videos, everyome likes to see people crash and they are quick easy edits. I have only fell 11 times this year on 105 rides which is pretty good for me I suppose compared to the last 2 years. Thanks for all the help even though the camera position isn't the greatest, I like it because I can see my body position better since my camera doesn't zoom.
  8. I figured it was starting before what I see. I will start by getting wider and see if that helps at all. I guess I have been staying a bit closer to the middle lately for some reason. I will also check out the Lucky drill. Camera will also go back to the boat.
  9. @gregy I do have some from the boat but I find it hard to see my position as well that far away with this camera. If you want it is up on my youtube I did notice today that I did not have much angle most of the time. I really struggle on my offside getting enough angle, the onside is hit and miss. @Fam-man I just really have a hard time thinking about all that while I am skiing. Seems like it's been all summer with little progress. My wake crossings are a little better but there is a slight lingering "fear" I guess. I am really hoping not to make it to years of "safe" hips back.
  10. Hey guys, I am still in need of some help. I understand most of what I am doing wrong but can't for the life of me fix it. My biggest problem I think, is after I grab the handle and go for the wake I always pull the handle towards me and sit. I seem to have decent stack preturn but it all falls apart fast. I guess what I am asking mostly is how do I fix it as opposed to only what is wrong. Another question I have is, my back foot is turned all the way to my right, I was wondering if turning that more parallel with my front foot would help anything. Here is a shortish video from the ski tip. P.S. this is public lake and smoothest I have ever seen it! Kinda happy about that.
  11. I have one now and absolutely love it! Tried double boot once and had a hard time getting up. Didn't like my heel sliding side to side in my RTP. Seemed like the perfect fit for me. I 100% recommend one for what it's worth.
  12. Closest I have ever seen to glass. I loved it. Too bad the video I took showed how poorly I skied. I did have fun so thats all that counts this late in the season.
  13. I never have, nor probably never will get the chance to ski on glass. I'm just happy to only have to deal with a few boats making rollers if I can make it out before 9am.
  14. Finally brought mine out of the boat and wore it on my head today. Not a whole lot to learn from it but it sure is fun. (I do need to work on my offside and staying on edge longer).
  15. We should be ok then. We will just play it safe and be out of the course when starting or stopping.
  16. Thanks for all the tips and such. It is really appreciated and why I love this place so much. @MISkier How close is it usually with an I/O? If we are at speed when we enter the course it should be ok or should we trim up more?
  17. @Stoner We fish there a decent amount. Haven't been out since early July there though. Went out this morning and have to admit I did get a little bit excited. Now if I can just talk the otherguy into towing down there.
  18. So providing I can not find who this belongs to, what is the proper etiquette on using the course? We have to have our boat out of our lake by Oct 1st and will have to trailer so I wouldn't mind heading that way once or twice. Would I be asking for trouble just using it?
  19. I really struggled last year with this as well. This year is better, I was 92% in august on my starts. I like to keep probably 3/4 of my ski in the water, knees bent to chest and hands below my knees. After that I just stand when the ski feels ready. I can finally keep my eyes open on some starts and not get a wet face. I love my Radar vice gloves as well.
  20. Anybody know anything about the course on Pine Lake in Prarieville Michigan? Fish down there now and then and today there is a course in on the NE side.
  21. I figured it wouldn't be the answer, that is why I asked first. I will try to focus on bending at the ankles this weekend and go from there. Where I get confused is when to be forward and when to be back. Do I want to be forward through the turn, then lean back for the wake crossing, and back forward as I change edges on the other side? Keep in mind this is all open water.
  22. So I was making decent progress in July and due to my drivers other commitments I only made it out 3 days at the beginning of August and then this past week a few times. Seems that I have went backwards in that time. I feel like I am really far back on the ski and video proves this. I can see air under my front foot when I start my turn. I am hoping it is all in my head and a few times out I can get back in the rhythm of things. I think I am scared of the wake again which is holding me back. The question is, should I bother moving my boot forward a hole? If so do I move just the front or move front and HRT the same? I am trying to focus on hips forward and handle down as much as I can but feel like I am just not getting enough time behind the boat to make real progress. Thoughts?
  23. Thanks for the recommendations so far guys. A rental car is out of the question for me as I do not have a license (do to poor choices in the past). I'm sure I will enjoy the downtime watching and relaxing. I will have to do a bit more digging on Travers and get ahold of them it looks like. How much warmer is Orlando than Baton Rouge? How are water temps that time of year? I skied April 1st this year with a wetsuit, which I would rather not need there. Why is Bennett's half the price of the rest? Is it location I am guessing?
  24. Alright, I did some research and have narrowed it down to three places that have transportation to and from the airport, lodging and food. I would like some help picking where to go. If anyone has been to any of these, or even better been to more than one, please weigh in. I am looking to go mid to late March. Here are my final 3 -Boarding School -Bennets -Travers Pros and cons of each? Why do you recommend one over another? Favorite thing about them? Why should I pick one over the others? This is a good chunk of change for me as well as a week off work so I want to be sure of my choice and make it an educated one. As for my skill level and what I hope to learn, 15off open water skier, wish I had access to a course. Would like to learn all the fundamentals and hopefully be able to get a ball or two at -22.
