  1. @MISkier I would like to do a little bit of both. I have never skied a course yet so there would be a learning curve for sure. Don't think I am ready to join a club yet, just looking for the ability to go out more than the once a week my driver wants to go out. It's hard to learn with 15min or less a week. If it makes a difference I am between Lowell and Caledonia about half hour south of GR.
  2. Anyone here still around? Looking for some people to ski with.
  3. @UWSkier that is one of my big things to focus on this year is making sure I get a good stretch in beforehand. Mostly because of my crap shoulder, but also because I know it's the right thing to do.
  4. I just notice after reading it all that this is pretty old. Anyways this is my first year without the cheater rope. Been having about 75% success. Really improved after watching the pros start at the Swiss tourney. They seemed to zoom on them on the starts and I focused on that. Biggest thing I ha e changed is keeping more ski in the water, only the tip out of the water, and put my hands in the water with arms bent instead of straight arm out of the water. This seems to out less stress on my shoulders and I actually felt more relaxed on my starts.
  5. Finally made it out today! No pain whatsoever while I was skiing. Feels about normal so far a few hours later. Going to keep on doing my exercises and stretches and keep at it. As for my skiing, I felt pretty off balance but being on public water on a holiday weekend it wasn't the best of conditions. Shooting for an early start tomorrow.
  6. @cragginshred I went in to have it looked at after a month of pain mostly when I lift my arm around shoulder height in front of me. There were no serious talks of surgery at this time but more of an option possibly down the road. Based on xrays it looks like I have grown more bone at the end of my collar bone. It was a lot to take in while I was there really. Just another reason its been 10+ years since I have been to a Dr. Again right now we are in a wait and see what happens in the next few weeks mode and was told to call back if it does not get better.
  7. @cragginshred he is primarly sports medicine and family care. I will hold off on the video unless you actually have something made already, at least until I find out this weekend if I will be able to ski much before PT. @34mph I am in the Grand Rapids area, ski on Gun lake.
  8. Thanks for all the input guys. I really feel the rubber band work helps a ton. I don't have any tears just some extra bone. I did stretch some ligaments pretty bad playing hockey in high school which is what this comes from I guess. I really don't want surgery and with how it feels now I think PT would be the best option now. As for skiing I will take it slow and see how it feels, DR said it won't hurt it any, painful probably though.
  9. It feels like if I change my grip to left palm up instead of right up it seems to feel better. I am defiantly going to take it easy and if it doesn't feel right throw the towel in. If the pain does not go away in a week or two I am supposed to go in and discuss other options with PT being the next step I believe. For sure I am going to keep up on my exercises and stretching as that makes a huge difference already.
  10. Well I just found out that my shoulder pain is arthritis. Doc says I have an 80yo shoulder 50yrs early. Anyways I am on some anti-inflammatory meds right now and plan on skiing some this weekend. I have been doing the stretches and exercises given to me and told it wouldn't injure me to ski. It seems to me that it feels better after I do the stretches and would assume I need to warm up good before skiing. Does anyone else deal with this shoulder pain? Is there anything special pre-ski that you have found to help? I got out really early this year than have been out to stubborn to go to the Dr. for almost a month. I can't take it any more. If this is unbearable to ski I might have to opt for the surgery:(
  11. Wind is terrible here in Michigan too. Lucky for me I am sitting at the Dr waiting to see how long this shoulder injury will keep me out. However fishing really sucks with the wind too.
  12. Ok does anybody want to know how dumb I feel right now? I just realized this is not in Switzerland. Haha. So many things I could call myself right now, none appropriate for here.
  13. So I am looking at buying a senate this summer after the radar demo event in my area if I like how it feels. I was leaning toward the alloy, however I noticed that it does not have an adjustable fin. So really what I am wondering is, would it be useful for me to have the adjustment as an open water 15 off skier? I am currently on a HO Blast 67.
  14. Looks like 2 rounds and a final. Sunday at 9am is when it starts, 2nd round at 1pm and finals at 4pm. I am guessing that youtube is doing the time change and it will start at those times.
  15. So the question is, will there be somewhere to watch this?
  16. @rico looks like she is on the lime from what I see on instagram.
  17. @scottscott I feel ya on the full throttle starts. We have a roughly 400hp 4winns and that is how we start. I have popped the handle more times than I can count. Pretty sure that is why I'm out with a shoulder injury now too. Damn driver just won't listen.
  18. Aggravated an old shoulder injury yesterday, might be a few weeks before i can get back out there again. Been out 5 tines so far this year though.
  19. I don't want to hijack this thread but, we are also looking for a prop for our 4winns. Just tried a bigger 15" I believe tonight. Was not terrible out of the hole but I thought it made the wake terrible. Seemed to almost be a third bump in the center and I am on a full length rope right now. Being not really a ski boat I was wondering what recommendations if any, any of you have. We are looking for a good pullout for me skiing but also a decent cruiser. We have a 350-400hp chevy 350 I/O. I don't really understand much at all about the props. If you would rather I can make my own thread too. Thanks
  20. Plan on making putting the boat in to stay this week and skiing a bit. Had to work 12's all weekend. Go figure it's the nicest we have seen in MI all spring.
  21. Got mine today! Couldn't wait to get home from work.
