  1. True statement….Radar is coming out with new carbon plate with LT/RT specific toe bar mounting holes to center up the boot.
  2. I hope this starts a good discussion on this topic. maybe some pics or vids from some pros would be great, I get the concept of being more open behind the boat but want to focus on the transition off the second wake into the buoy and how to manage being open without giving it all back to the boat. Hopefully this thread gets a lot of bumps and attention.
  3. Im trying to make sense of this. Id like to hear Rossi expand on this a bit more. I feel like off the second wake if Im square to the pylon I would have the tendency to give my leading shoulder back to the boat and lose all angle. Ive been taking a lot of video this season and this is killing me. At this point ill try anything. @KRoundy Can you expand on how you applied this technique?
  4. Gotcha. I use one of two methods for the carbon sequence plate… Get Bf established with front boot alone mounted. Then just note where the side screw scale is mounted. Then go back and mount the rear boot. Now you can move 1/16 increments from there and always know Bf. Or just mount the front boot and measure the distance to the end of the plate. Remount rear boot and slide the plate based on difference from end of plate to the tail of ski. Either way you’re moving the plate from a known position. I’ll have to check out the slot method
  5. ummmm wut? First time I've ever heard this. Why wouldn't you just measure from the rear of the boot? pic?
  6. Im 5'7 and pushing 170 and im on a 66. The 67 Radar felt really big for me
  7. @UWSkier. What kind of set up tips are you talking about for the Reflex/Vapor combo? Im about to do the same thing and go with an RTP as well.
  8. The 21 was good. More level turns. The 22 gets crazy angle. Basically point and shoot.
  9. Actually just spoke to Brooks and apparently new Radar plates on the way.
  10. @ColeGiacopuzzi im still on your numbers but have the new vapor boots so going to give these new #s a rip. @ColeGiacopuzzi How is your Vapor boot set up? Mounted directly to a Radar plate or using the Reflex release? Having trouble getting the boot straight with the Reflex system. Its cants the boot outward. (LLF and the boot cants left noticeably). I believe others are having same issue. Mounting to the plate with screws gets it dead on. I added a Mikro Just to the plate to get Bf exactly where I need as well.
  11. Finally running green….at least at 32mph. Different approach this year. Figured if I can’t do it slow, then I can’t do it fast. This approach really helped my -28s. Running -28 now easily and early most of time now due to purely focusing on technique at slower speed (32mph). When I jump to 34mph now at -28 it’s doesn’t feel much different or faster because I’m doing the right things I engrained going slower. For years I was beating myself up chasing buoys with little progress and bad habits. Tackling -32 the same way and ran a bunch of back to back passes. A little scrappy on a few but it’s coming together and should be up to 34mph soon and able to grab a couple at -35 by end of summer. Figuring out the work zone, connection, and swing without scrambling is a game changer.
  12. It’s the old one without the spacers….at least that’s what I used for my size 9. Is everyone else have the same issue with the boot being angled when mounted with the reflex system. Just mounted my size 9 on the radar plate with Reflex 840. LFF and it sits angled left. Same way on the reflex plate. Think I’m going to PM Brooks and ask him WTF?
  13. Im finally starting to really enjoy my 22 Vapor. Started the season at all stock numbers but wasn't working for me all that well.. Truth be told, It was mostly me that wasn't working. I ended up with @ColeGiacopuzzi numbers of basically all stock except pushed DFT from .75 to .76. Just that small DFT tweak made all the difference. Now the ski really comes around and I get an awesome hook up in great position..As an added bonus my turn in for the gates has been almost 100% better. Able to get over the ski and off the heel and sets me up great going into 1 ball. Game changer.
  14. Just picked up a 65in 2022 Senate Lithium to play around with as a second ski. On 66in 22 Vapor Pro now, but have ridden all year models and will post some results when I can. Im 5'7" 170 + so on the upper edge of recommended weight for the 65. The 67 Senate is a large ski and feels way too big for me. (Measured over 67 1/2) If I kept it I could have messed with some settings (DFT) to get it where I needed but it went to a good home instead. Seems the trend is shorter and wider (Denali) which the Senate fits so could be interesting. So its either a keeper or will be for sale soon.
  15. @Horton. Which front toe loop are you using? I think one of the issues are people trying to mount with the wrong front metal toe loop? The classic Reflex boot and the new Supershell boot use two separate loops. I believe the super shell is the higher of the two. Not sure which one fits the new Radar Vapor boot when using the Reflex release set up.
  16. Just get the Radar sequence plate and have ability to move them 1/16. Problem solved
  17. @otcjb what size you looking for? I have a like new 66 in a box ready to sell/ship. Used it for a month or so back in 2020 and went back in box. On a 22 now. Let it go cheap. Pm if interested
  18. I learned I suck and sometimes its best just to walk away and take a break instead of beating yourself to death with failure. Step back and just ride in the boat for a while. You can learn a lot from watching.
  19. Honestly my favorite and most productive early season runs are sets of 4 passes. Run 4 passes and take a break. If your ski school isn't too busy do maybe 3 sets of 4 passes in a day. Equates to 2 full sets of 6 passes so they should only charge you for 2 sets (or 2 sets of 4 for one longer set). You'll be amazed at how much more productive your sets can be until you build up to full sets of 6 or 8. Trying to engrain some new habit or technique when you're wasted is seriously counterproductive and frustrating.
  20. @jMac with the slanted back of the new boot where is the recommended measure point for distance from tail? Current vapor boots I use too if the bottom stitches.
  21. @Horton Are you running the front boot with the heel cuff screws in or out for for forward flex? Also did you test the rear boot with the heel cuff completely removed? Curious how it compares to the Reflex rear R style half boot.
  22. @skimtb I have a like new , new to you 2020 Vapor Pro 66 Ill let go cheap
  23. @slalom frog I’ve been running stock numbers on my 22 since I got it. How did 10 deg and Bf forward 1/4 do for you? Unfortunately I’m done for the season with a picked nerve in my shoulder and will have to wait until spring but always looking to try new set ups
  24. Just a suggestion. Helped me . Not perfect but leaning away with straight arms using the pro lock gloves transfers the pull to shoulders. Keeps me from using biceps. Recovery time is key as well.
