  1. Check the trim tab, a buddy’s 05 196 had sloppy steering, and he adjusted the trim tab and it made a huge difference. It’s just two little screws, go all tellers way in one direction and you will have a little counter pressure on the wheeel in the course.
  2. How do they compare on thickness to the 41 tails? I had a pair of 41 tails I loved and then the next pair I bought seemed to not fit the same. I got some different HOngloves that weren’t Kevlar but they fit great but I blew threw them pretty quick.
  3. I traveled to Indy a lot last year and connected with Indy Skiers. It’s a club and they ski on the White river not far from downtown. The spot is great, pretty much a private lake as they don’t allow boat traffic in that area. Great group of people. Connect with them on Facebook or at http://www.indyskiers.com
  4. So people are just flipping the battery switch without shutting the boat down? That’s like just unplugging your computer when you’re done using it and wondering why it doesn’t boot up right next time. I never have a problem with mine, just punch in code and hit stop twice and it shuts down every time correctly. Starts up correctly every time too. Only reason to flip battery switch off is if you’re not going to be using it for a while.
  5. I bought a a promo 200 in 2016 and planned to buy another one in 5 or so years when I was ready to upgrade. My local dealer had boats that were a year old with similar hours for 8-9k more than I paid for the promo. Obviously Nautique wants to ensure they set the market as promo boats were typically a good deal as guys just wanted to get rid of them at the end of the season and get their money back. Will these boats ever see a plateau in price or just keep jacking it up every year? I expect the new Nautique to be $75k, how many people are going to pay that for a Ski tug?
  6. Didn’t this place just get built? http://mayanwatercomplex.com
  7. Eagle frontzip, best I’ve had. The O’Neill one I had fell apart. I have a hyper flex one that is ok, not as nice of material as the eagle.
  8. I just bought the O’Neill boost baggy suit, and it’s great. I debated between the hybrid and the baggy and ended up really liking the baggy, you don’t notice the legs too much other than the sound of the water hitting it. Great range of motion and really easy to get on and off. The hybrid or neoprene will constrict movement a little more and you can’t just wear a sweatsuit under it. It’s all personal preference, price point is pretty close.
  9. Wake/surf stance seems like a better way to use a foil than to put a hard shell binding on it in a trick stance, it just looks awkward. Lots of wake foils popping up on the market, Slingshot has a few and they have been making them for kiteboarding for a few years now.
  10. Is the 17 Lithium Vapor the same as the 16 Lithium Vapor? I heard of people going from the 16 Lithium to the 17 Pro Build and not liking it at all, but don't hear much of anything about the 17 Lithium.
  11. We spin at the end of course and slow down until the zero off disengages and then speed it back up coming out of the turn. We do this with a 15 200 and 15 prostar, works great on both. If you don't back off the throttle zero off will make the engine rev up some and race around the turn.
  12. I wear a size 9, and got a size 9 vapor and it is snug and my toes do touch the end. I skied a few sets in it and it got better. It's not a shoe, there's not supposed to be much room in there. Fits just right now.
  13. It's unbelievable to me that all the tourney boats don't have an adjustable tab on the rudder. Nautique has had this for what 20 years? Malibu finally got the message but you have MC owners changing the steering connection and grinding the rudder. With all the advanced stuff on boats these days, this just seems like a really simple add that's not really complicated or expensive. Maybe Nautique has a patent on it?
  14. They were cool looking boats, especially if they are in great shape. If you're driving them through the course it will be an adventure because they do not track well. They are really small as well so if you have a few people it will be tight. They do have a nice wake.
  15. I had a 2010 VTX, and the slalom wake was pretty good at 32 and over, slower speeds and the wake got bigger, but not huge. I used to ski the course behind it. It was an ok surf wake, but i had to add an extra 750 lbs to make it surf ropeless. This was before surfgate or these new surf devices you can stick on your boat.
  16. I usually stay downtown, I checked out Indyskiers and they said their site wasn't usable this summer due to high rainfall.
  17. Anyone willing to go be a pull in Indy? I'm there quite a bit would be nice to have some ski partners. I'm a 22 off skier, experienced driver. Let me know if you can help me out, I'll throw gas money too.
  18. I've used the single ring in the middle over the hydro gate, but I have also used the platform. Not really that much pressure on the platform mounts, most likely less than the force of someone standing on the platform. Either way I think you'll be fine.
