  1. @loopski yes the issue is not about practical application and the ability to fit 'em in. Its the CG plate. I mean if I really wanted to get nefarious I suppose I could design a sticker in Photoshop with the SN 200 stats on a Mastercraft sticker and have Stickermule print me one on adhesive vinyl and stick it over the top.
  2. @bdecker is right. This all started because we regularly have a need for 8 in the boat (when not skiing) and sometimes 9. This is dicey with the 197 ... at least technically speaking. I realize the SN 200 doesn't actually have more seating or anything like that but a plate that says 1400+ and 9p matters unfortunately. I contemplated getting a pontoon and keeping the MC but the wife said she doesn't want our dock looking like a Marina. We already have the kid's Whaler.
  3. @Lars yeah I don’t know why but I have this decades old bias against Malibu. In the late 90’s I skied with a guy who had a Malibu and everything just seemed so cheap on it. Skied fine and all but I felt like every other thing was broken or about to break. Ever since then I’ve kind of never considered. Probably dumb.
  4. @Bdecker I don't know man it's possible this slalom habit is getting in the way of my beer drinking career
  5. ok I'm just going to start wake surfing I guess
  6. @MS really the bow dunk is worse on the SN 200 than then MC 197? ugh I feel like I'm constantly vigilant for the bow dunk in the 197. In fact I'm nervous to let anyone drive if we are in anything but glass. sigh, why is life constant tradeoffs?
  7. @swc5150 ahh ok now I'm feeling it ... the bow becomes my wife's new sundeck with the filler cushion in! ok I can sell that
  8. @dnewton ugh that is not what I wanted to hear. I hadn't even thought about thew sundeck. crap. My wife spends like half the time we are on the boat on that sundeck. :/
  9. I'm very close to selling my Prostar 197 and locking in a '17 SN 200 OB. Is the the Nautique going to feel small and cramped coming out of the 197? Nautique is like 7 inches wider but the saddle bags take up so much space from looking at pics. At least in the pics. I sadly have not put my hands on a 200 OB yet (this weekend). I really wan t to go with the 200 for drivability and wake but I am not prepared to listen to my family complain every time we go for a cruise on the lake. Anyone have any experience here?

  11. Ha @bananaron it looks like you found one very similar to mine. Glad it worked out. We talked last week about you buying mine. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Boat_3Event&postid=46682
  12. @vtmecheng yeah Radar rep said it would def for front but not rear. Which brings me to my vanity comment above. :)
  13. Ok yeah so then tell me this. How much stiffer/performant is the Boa version over the regular Vector? I mean I could go with a Boa up front and the aluminum plate regular HRT in the rear but then the colors won't match! :p That boa version was going to go so nicely with my Carbon V. So maybe I just settle for the regaular Vector? Any real difference other than the Boa?
  14. The Boa version of the Vector only comes in the Feather Frame sadly https://www.radarskis.com/product/2018-vector-boa-ltd/
  15. Anyone know if this combo is going to work? I would like to slap a Radar Vector Boa on the front and a Radar Vector Boa HRT on the rear of Connelly Carbon V. Before I drop a bunch of cash on this setup can anyone tell if the hole patterns are going to play nice together? I called 3 shops and no one seems to know exactly. They all said "I think so". Anyone?
  16. I just got an O’Neil boost drysuit. It’s got a neoprene neckseal vs the traditional latex seals. Anyone know if I should or should not trim it like a latex seal? It’s pretty long on my neck but I wasn’t sure if might not be designed for trimming.
  17. There is an expert for everything. I would talk to these guys. https://weedersdigest.com/ They have been enormously helpful for me.
  18. I hope this means the inventory of used 200's on the market goes up. I've been having a hell of a time finding one.
  19. @eleeski got a pic to show which wire you are talking about?
  20. Ok so I am right foot forward but I am right hand on top. I don’t know why I never noticed this before but all these rff pros have left hand on top. Am I putting myself at a disadvantage? Not sure how I’m going to train my 44 yo brain to make the switch if I am but ...
  21. Bringing back this thread from last spring. Looks like Barts has the Hybrid on sale. Would y'all recommend that over the Fluid? $75 savings with the Hybrid which isn't much especially considering I'll use this hopefully for years. After skiing this past weekend I'm itching to be able to ski the second the ice opens in April next season. Hybrid Assault or Fluid Neo?
  22. @dabeej20 my front foot in the boot was actually fine. Had to put on the rear toe plate so I could dock start. So my back foot was pretty numb by the end. We also had a 5 gallon bucket on the dock with 110 degree water in it. Dunked the feet and hands in that after the run.
  23. Got on the water yesterday in NH. Latest I have ever been out. Even turned a few balls. I skied like garbage but it was a blast to check the late November box. Water temp - 45 degrees Air temp - 46 degrees Shorty + full suit (didn’t have a dry suit) + ski hat I’ll blame the 7+ mm of neoprene for the bad skiing or maybe it was the completely numb hands by the time I got to the second ball.
  24. I may make them tube behind the 13 ft whaler with the 25hp on it. Then they can drive themselves too. Double bonus. The 12YO is finally coming around to skiing. She's getting up on 1 with the handle section off the boom and was damn close to deepwater start behind the boat at the end of the season. Will be a piece of cake for her next summer. That's my saving grace.
  25. @Lars oh interesting ... hadn't thought about going the mod route. hmmm. @escmanaze sounds like I need to consider the malibu TXi as well. I'm not opposed to it I just sort of have a two track mind and really only ever think about Nautiques and Mastercrafts. My lake tends to be a pretty heavily biased Nautique lake too so maybe thats playing into some of that.
