  1. @Andre nope just a boring old ZR4 6.0L. Suits me just fine though. Better than fine.
  2. Took my first set today on the boat. Holy s#!t! Is that an amazing boat. Seriously the best I’ve felt skiing in a long time. That wake is amazing at 28 off. I am so unbelievably happy with this boat and so glad I didn’t do something rash about the small issue. Now I have free storage and winterization for this year and it will likely come back to me pristine as new condition. It will be like having a new boat two years in a row. Kids might not get to go to college but damn I’m glad I made this purchase.
  3. Oh by the way I also learned the proper name of the part of the hull that had the void. It was one of the “Tines” near the bow on port side. Right at the point of the edge.
  4. @Moffattra the PCM manual has a pretty specific procedure. Goes something like this... Warm up Wide open throttle for less than a minute 2800 - 3000 rpm for 30 minutes continuous varying by 100 rpm every few minutes Idle Wide open throttle 2800 -3000 again for a few minute Repeat every few hours during first 5 hours Dealership said slalom skiing is actually fine as long as you are doing sets. Not long continuous skis. You basically just want to avoid two things. Long periods at a single RPM and wide open throttle for more than a minute or so for the first 25 hours.
  5. @Andre coming soon. Pouring rain up here so I got one quick test drive and then wrapped her up until tomorrow morning. First ski tomorrow at dawn. Tucked in
  6. The dealership has actually been amazing about it. They stayed up all last night to repair it. They did a temporary fix last night that does not match the exact white but is structurally sound. They are going to get that to completely color matched over the winter but didn’t want to keep me off the water. They delivered the boat on time as promised today. Dropped the delivery charge and have committed to come back in the fall pick the boat up, winterize it, store it for free and give the hull a full inspection and do the refinish work and then deliver in the spring free of charge. Note the dealer is 3.5 hours from my lake. They did a fantastic job despite the lack of color match. Big fan of Adirondack Marine now. Oh yeah and the boat is amazing.
  7. @klindy it’s in the bottom of the hull. I don’t know what you technically call the little step that’s under the boat. @eleeski I want the boat very badly! I have been dreaming about it all week long. This is most definitely not a way to talk myself out of it. Problem is it was a stick boat the dealer had on site. It was not a custom order. So I “think” I got a very good price already. I want to believe it’s going to be just fine after repair. @vtmecheng not sure on size. They said they could push it in with a finger but haven’t sent pics yet. I believe it is actually being repaired tonight. They said they were going to work on it over night. I also sold my current MC 197 already and buyer arrives Sunday for pickup. Refusing delivery will mean no ski boat for me for probably the entire summer. That’s a really really bad option. Sigh. I guess I’ll just have a good look at it when it finally does get here.
  8. @BraceMaker it’s at Nautique dealer. They are doing the repairs too.
  9. @eleeski I know I know I appreciate the fact that I am lucky enough to have this problem. I get it. I’m a spoiled rotten brat for even suggesting this is something to fuss over. I just dropped more money than I have on anything other than my education and my house. So it feels crummy. Heart breaking is probably a bit of hyperbole but this is the internet. That’s how we roll here. I’m not worried about it falling apart. I’m more worried about finding lots more voids over the coming years and having to constantly get repairs.
  10. I just got heart breaking news from my dealer. I am supposed to take delivery of a new SN 200 OB tomorrow. In the process of loading for delivery they saw dark spot on the hull near the “step” upon inspection they pressed on it and were able to essentially push a finger through a small pocket. They said it had a void in the gelcoat and needs to be repaired. They are trying to get it repaired overnight and deliver late tomorrow or Sunday. My question is should I be worried about the overall integrity of this particular 200 hull? Like does one void mean there might be 20 others hidden about because something went wrong systematically in manufacturing. Or is this just a thing that happens once in awhile with a new boat. Sorry if this seems silly. Never bought a new boat. Been a used boat guy my entire life. I mean I know I’ve got a warrantee and all that but ... ugh
  11. @Jordan I thought about it actually but for actually need a movable lift. About half way through summer the boat house is inaccessible due to lake level. So I need to be able to reposition at the dock we have in deeper water. It’s complicated and a problem that will be corrected in time but ... dredging is hard. New boat needs a home now. :)
  12. @Skirvind thanks ... guess I just need to suck it up an pay the man
  13. @BRY no it’s open water underneath so the legs could spread out
  14. @BRY Yeah thats all in price, lift, customization to fit boathouse and installation. They need to trim down the side braces and remove the guides I guess to account for the narrow width of my slip. Thanks
  15. I just bought this SN (gets delivered Saturday) and that was one of the things I loved about it. Clean, classic ... Simple Interior Bad pics sorry ... just pulled them off the dealers site from the listing.
  16. Also its less about being able to do it myself and more about not wanting to waste the time when I am at the lake.
  17. @Skirvind wow ok I'm looking at about 4 feet at the stern and 3 feet at the helm and essentially smooth sediment bottom. So yeah sounds like I'm getting taken to the cleaners. Was yours a Sunstream or another similar brand. Perhaps the SL4 itself is pricey to start? Maybe I should consider some other lift.
  18. Anyone have any experience with getting a new Sunstream SL4 boat lift or similar installed in a boat house? I'm getting a quote just shy of $9k. Feels pretty high to me but I don't know. It does include a few mods to fit in the relatively narrow slip (9' 5") I am trying to put it in. Am I getting a fair deal here or should I push back or find another dealer?
  19. @braindamage yeah I mean I “hyperbolize” but truth is yes I would like my daughters learning to drive as soon as possible. They can’t get a safe boater permit until 16 in NH. I have a pretty rigorous dad test they have to pass to drive the Whaler solo. 13 YO almost passed last year. She will get it this year. Then we’ll start working in learning to drive an inboard. Honestly the biggest challenge for them is learning our lake and less about boat operation. It’s a tricky lake to navigate. Weird little non obvious high spots in open water etc. if you don’t know the lake or know how to read buoys you are screwed. I’ve seen lower units torn off IOs and an inboard that sheared the skegs and the entire drive train clean off on a ledge. Stuff of nightmares.
  20. Yeah so this is more than just taking them out. Even if it had snapnout carpets I’m wondering about maintaining the factory carpets with another layer. Maybe this is dumb. I see others have done though.
  21. Ok so after much debating and weeks of hunting I'm throwing in the towel and just getting a new 200 OB (2018 in stock at a dealer so I don't have to wait for production). Got a pretty good deal ... anyway. Given this is my first new boat I'd like to take care iof it right from the start. What's the deal with carpet overlays? Where can I get these for a 200 OB? I really like the idea of just pulling out an overlay for cleaning instead of dragging the shop vac out to the boat. Any other new boat tips? Things you have done or wish you had done to maintain your boat right from the start.
  22. @braindamage yeah well the kids are 13 and 10 and NH has a 25HP limit for underage boaters. also the kids aren't driving dad's boat ... like ever. Or at least until they have enough skills to drive me skiing :)
  23. Woah woah woah! Hold the phone! You mean using go pro sticky things is a viable alternative to screws for a waterski binding?! So say someone wanted to mount a radar vector hrt on the rear of a Connelly ski where the holes don’t play nice together ... this could be an option? For realz?
