  1. Seth discounts 10% for 20 sets or more http://www.sethstisher.com/options-and-rates/
  2. I have a pond thermometer that hangs off the dock at about 2 foot depth. My gauge on the boat is usually about 2-3 degrees within range when I first drop the boat off the lift and fire it up
  3. I have to peel my eyelids back into place
  4. The other monster tip for me has been to fold the neck in. I have an O'Neil Boost with the tapered Neo neck. Unlike a latex neck folding makes for a more comfortable fit and a better seal in my experience. You just have to fold in not out ... out is even tighter on the neck. Hat tip to @LakeOneSkier and @Dirt for that tip.
  5. @keithh2oskier oh man! LOL We were joking about that the other day actually. How much it sucks if you forget to pee before pulling the suit up and then you have to get in the water and actively remind yourself not to pee. I can't believe someone actually forgot!
  6. Yesterday morning I learned a very important lesson the hard way. Certainly not the hardest way but ... I busted out the drysuit this past weekend. Lake temp dipped below 60 but more importantly the air was mid to high 40s in the morning in N.H. I actually prefer the bag style suit. I find the freedom of movement better than even a regular 3/2 wetsuit. Nice comfy athletic wear underneath. My only issue has always been the neck. It feels like trying to give birth pulling your head through and then I feel like my eyes are popping out of my head for the first minute or so until I get used to it. So I decided to pull the neck on before I put my binding on this time. Give myself more time to acclimate before skiing. Strapped on my gloves. Got the binding on. Locked into the ski. Grabbed the handle. Took a breath or two. Checked with my driver. Yup he’s good. He turns around. I step off the platform. Wait what’s that look in his eyes? What’s he about to say? Wait? Somethings not right. Woah that feels cold And wet! Wtf! Crap crap zipper! Crap crap crap Legs filling ... sinking ... wow this sucks! Luckily I was still arms reach to the platform and dragged my soggy ass back into the boat. Sonova! Well let me tell you that made for a pretty damn cold and crappy set. The lesson? Always zip your drysuit back immediately after putting head through the neck!
  7. ok makes sense I do struggle with information overload on this big time and have been searching for the "biggest boulder" for me to focus on. Not the silver bullet mind you just the most important thing to fix first. I know I do a million things wrong but one of them has to more detrimental than the rest. Knock that off first then work my way down the list. I'll try focusing on high gate with nice line tension this weekend only and see how that goes. thanks ... ps, happy to see you have revived fifteenoff.com ... hope it sticks
  8. @jhughes totally agree with @C5Quest great thread ... this is my life right now. @jhughes do you ahve the word doc by any chance? I was just thinking of doing the same in an evernote. Maybe you already did the work for me. :) Maybe you can stick it in a dropbox folder and share link?
  9. This was sent to me by my Sunstream dealer when I was buying. :D
  10. 63F in NH on 9/23 ... down almost exactly 10 degrees from 7 days prior. It was also 35 degrees at Sunrise on Sunday. Water temp will be falling fast me thinks. Drysuit time soon.
  11. I don't think I could handle being any position in that mess other than the far left or far right. R8? thats nuts.
  12. @IGski I have the '18 but have not skied the '17. I think they made the '18 slightly stiffer. Thats what I read anyway. In a sample of 2 ... one of my ski partners hated the Sync bindings and the other likes them (but not love). The guy who hates them said the liner felt like it sloshed around in the shell too much no matter how tight he got them. He's on a Reflex now and loves it fwiw. I have not skied them myself. I have Radar Vector ltd on mine.
  13. Yeah I mean I'm not looking for something to go all winter. I'll winterize the boat eventually and properly store it in a climate controlled warehouse with my local marina. My goal here is just to keep skiing and avoid an oops with a big cold spell. Ideally would like to make it to mid November then pull and winterize. It can get chilly at night in early November in NH.
  14. Anyone have any experience with one of these? https://www.amazon.com/Caframo-Engine-Compartment-Heater-Silver/dp/B00MEMRGZE/ref=sr_1_1 I'd like to extend the season in NH as far into November this year as possible. I know I can just throw a light under the cover but I'd prefer something a little more efficient that turns on when the temp drops below a certain threshold. Also something a little safer than just a light bulb with over heat protection etc.
  15. We will be there skiing 11/10 through 11/12. Got a killer deal at the Grove across the street too. Locked and loaded. Super pumped
  16. Just got off the phone with Jodi. Man what a great guy. I think that might be the setup for us this first round. Maybe stay at the Grove right around the corner so the kids can hit the water park stuff. Its not the most ideal ski lake but honestly I think my kids will be more comfortable with the open water as opposed to a super narrow ski pond. They have only ever skied on open water in NH. Next trip get more aggressive and hit Boarding School which really looks great for a dedicated ski trip. Maybe Boarding School in the spring for season opener without the family!
  17. @jhughes that’s an interesting thought. I like the idea of waking up and strolling to the dock but maybe house with a nice pool off-site is the better option for first trip.
  18. @rawly sadly I think the boarding school is where I want to go, just not sure it’s my wife’s jam and this particular trip really needs to be about her thinking this is awesome. Hard to establish a family tradition without the first experience being amazing.
  19. yeah ok sounds good on the gators. No intention to mention anything as that would be sure fire trip cancellation regardless of logic and rationality. Rhoni location? I like the looks of Swiss. Those accommodations look like something my wife would dig and she probably won't be skiing so thats important.
  20. ok now @ScottScott has me concerned, anyone else have opinions on Gators? Is this the kind of thing where every school does like a gator talk before your first lesson and there are signs all over the place. I can guarantee my girls will never get in the water if thats the case.
  21. Where does Rhoni coach? I haven't been able to find anything via search for a camp or school she is connected with. Anyone have a website? @lpskier or @nikandsteve
  22. Thanks folks. Some good spots to research I guess. I guess I’ll interpret the many scattered votes as it’s hard to go wrong. I’m not too worried about distance to one of the parks as we are likely to only do one day at a park. Nice place to stay on site with a pool is probably the ideal. Good coaches that my daughters will dig is probably more important. Would be super cool if they could have a really great female coach. I’d love for them to see a woman rip up the course.
  23. I have fiendishly convince my wife of an amazing vacation plan. My girls are really getting into skiing. My oldest is starting to play around in the course and really wants to get better and my youngest is just getting up on 1. So I pitched the idea of taking veterans weekend, flying to Florida and spending 3 days as a family getting some coaching. And oh my god she bought it! The only trade off is she wants to do a day at Universal Resort. Fine I can suffer through that if on the backside I get 3 days of ski school coaching to hopefully make me not suck quite as bad as I do right now. So what do folks recommend for a family ski school trip near Orlando in November? Jack Travers and Boarding School are both in tbe running right now. I’m leaning Jack Travers as my oldest might be interest in doing 2 week summer camp there next year but honestly totally open to suggestions.
