  1. Is there any water in Tucson? (besides what's dumped on the golf courses)
  2. I know this was about the boat, but gotta say that was some pretty fine skiing!
  3. Buddy had one at HT this morning. I really like the "self tightening" loops like @RGilmore mentioned. they should easily slip over a Malibu pylon.
  4. @ral I will give your suggestion a try for at least 12 sets - thanks!
  5. @ral 30 was as easy as 28 and feel I can make at least 90% of those. Thinking 3 30's, then 3 32's per set.
  6. I'm a 32mph/15 off skier and on a good day make half my passes, less in winter in dry suit. Today my opening pass was so easy - earlier at each ball, could have made a 12 ball course! Turns out ZO got bumped down to 28, a speed I have not tried in several years. So went up to 30, did two more "easy for me" passes, then finished with three 32's, managed to make one but felt more in control. Thanks @ROBOT - for the vid - will be starting at 30 next weekend! BTW I read alot of gripes about the big nautique wake at slow speeds. Did not perceive a difference at 28 or 30 today.
  7. I think @Sedge is soon to become a very busy rope maker!
  8. Would appreciate other skiers comments on increasing your speed to 32-34 vs shortening the rope. I am a hack 32/15 off rarely get to 22 off; better skiers always comment that it's easier to ski at shorter lines & higher speeds. As my friends age they complain about going from 34 to 32mph
  9. The two in the course are at 30mph?
  10. Before getting a new ski, consider posting a video in the course, You may get some good advice on ski tuning and/or technique.
  11. @savaiusini Could we have some comments on the Carbon Omni please. My understanding is this is a great ski up to 34mph and 28-32 off.
  12. @JayShower Easy - don't age and don't use your shoulders
  13. Go ski when your doc and PT say you can, not before. If you take a surpise fall, you could undo all the surgeon's hard work, and the next repair will not be as good, and you will lose even more time on the water. Get it done sooner than later. Fnally, there is some evidence that cortisone injections can make later surgeries less successful/not heal as well.
  14. It is absolutely mind boggling how one man can cause so much grief and misery in the 21st century. Time to cut the head off the snake.
  15. I like Gear Aid Seam Grip. Similar to aqua seal, less expensive, available in 8 oz tubes. Lasts forever stored in the freezer. You will find lots of uses for it once you have it.
  16. Welcome to BOS! How old are your sons? They will ski better/easier/safer on a new model cross over ski than any "classic" older ski you choose. The number one absolute best thing to do if you are serious about getting them to enjoy slalom is: GET SOMEWHERE FOR LESSONS AND GET AN APPROPRIATE SKI SET UP AT THAT TIME! Where are you located - folks here will guide you to great coaching & gear for your sons.
  17. If you like the boat, I would upgrade PP and see if you can get it dialed in to your liking. I was skiing every Wed behind a Sportster with older paddle wheel PP & Lxi with Stargazer Wake Edition; they both do fine in the course for our level of skiing, and I have had no problem changing to my weekend zero off pull. The Stargazer would come in hot if over throttled coming off the island, easy to change approach and ease off throttle once I was used to it and get good times.
  18. Wonder if they are going to make handles too? Different rope settings like different zero off letters
  19. He needs to send some samples to @Horton for review if he wants to get them noticed.
  20. Sunsetter is the better all around choice - which is probably why supply is limited
  21. Would your FIL have any interest in this ski? https://forum.ballofspray.com/discussion/25018/any-interest-in-mapple-graphite-composite#latest
  22. My 1st try at a course was a Lake Stevens Aquafest Tourny mid 80's - I was a decent skier, how hard could it be - after crashing at one ball I was hooked. The following three years did the INT league; lots of fun, met lots of great people. Haven't done the tourny thing since then.
  23. @Marty1 Welcome to BOS! I have no info but I would sure like to see a few more pics of your new toy!
