  1. @KRoundy the Wednesday night crew goes to the boat show every year. We meet up at @Rednucleus for breakfast and Bloody Mary’s .He makes a killer egg casserole! Then we head to the show and get there when it opens at 11. We look around at everything and talk to everyone and later in the afternoon head to the Pyramid Alehouse for beers and lunch. We return to the show for a final walk thru and head home. One of the best days of the year spending the day with three of my best friends and ski partners! If you want to join us contact @Rednucleus or watch for us at the show Wednesday January 29. We will be the four old guys ( all 60 plus) walking around aimlessly looking for the ski boats. Maybe we could start a annual PNW ballers get together
  2. @The_MS maybe if you didn’t wear the nipple piercings that look like fishing lures the bluegills would leave you alone???
  3. @jjackkrash and @Rednucleus totally forgot about the Mastercraft from last year. Sorry I can’t even remember what I had for dinner tonight?. Will pay more attention this year and try not to enjoy myself so much at the Pyramid Alehouse. Maybe we will see you at the show. The Wednesday night crew will be there on January 29.
  4. @jjackkrash Nautique usually brings 2 ski boats to the show, one closed bow and one open bow. Mastercraft had a ski boat there in past years but not last year. Malibu hasn’t had one there since I have been going to the show. Hoping you are right and will get to see one from each of the big three. Kind of tired of looking at surf boats that hold more ballast then my boat weighs!?
  5. @Skirvind I am so jealous. That is my ultimate goal to be able to go there with my ski buddies ( the Wednesday night crew from Bow lake). Hopefully in the next few years we can make it happen. Thanks for the pic.
  6. Second what @RichardDoane says about the knit hat! Those are a must for fall, winter and early spring skiing here in the PNW. Just ask @Rednucleus.
  7. Skied with @Rednucleus and the rest of the Wednesday night crew on New Year’s Day on Big lake Wa. Dry suits for all as the water was in the mid 40’s and the air around the same. Thank goodness for a boat heater and hot water shower. Only cold at the end of a free skiing set when you had to take your feet out of your boots. More skiing to come this month!
  8. @MISkier you and @Rednucleus would get along great. He is a BIG FAN of the drysuit. He doesn’t like to ever get cold while skiing. We skied on December 21 and again on New Year’s Day in 46 degree water with the air around 44. Very pleasant in a drysuit. Having a heater and hot water shower in the boat made skiing doable. We usually ski all year around here in the PNW.
  9. @Wish yes skied Big lake Wa with @Rednucleus and the rest of the Wednesday night crew. 3 long sets of free skiing and the weather wasn’t too bad.
  10. The Wednesday night crew made it out to Big lake Wa for our annual New Year’s Day ski. Was a balmy 53 air 46 water. Nice to have @Rednucleus back skiing with us! Finished off the afternoon with lunch and beers at the Big Rock. Nice to get a few hours in between the torrential rain we have been having the last week to get some winter skiing in!
  11. I need some booze now just seeing that picture. ????I think I am scared for life?
  12. Big lake Wa. Air temp 38 water temp 42. Got the band back together today! @Rednucleus finally joined us for some free skiing. The Wednesday night men’s dinner club skis again! Great to ski with all the guys today. Sunshine, glass water, no other boats on the lake and snow on the foothills above the lake. Next ski date New Year’s Day. That will be skiing every month last year. Great to live in the great PNW!
  13. @ski6jones bought a Stokes vest this summer. Absolutely love it! Never had a vest fit so good and it dries very fast. You won’t be disappointed. Looking to buy one of their wet suits for next season. One of my ski partners @Rednucleus has one and he is very happy with it and he likes to stay WARM when he skis. Haven’t heard any complaints from him yet
  14. @Horton there is usually a switch on the dash that says “heater” with a low, medium and high setting. Turn it to the desired setting to get the amount of warm air you want. ???
  15. @Rednucleus you are welcome to join the rest of the Wednesday night men’s dinner club for some free skiing on Big lake this Wednesday if you can get that mean boss of yours to let you leave work early. Maybe there will be some homemade ice cream ? after dinner?. Miss you. The group isn’t complete without you!
  16. Every August my family takes a weeks vacation to Lake Entiat on the Colombia river. We rent a house right on the water with a dock. There are 46 miles of water between 2 dams. The water is usually like glass. We free ski and free ski and free ski some more for the entire week. This is a nice break from the coarse in the middle of the season. Gives you a chance to work on different things without having to worry about buoys. We come back home refreshed and ready to tackle the coarse. Best week of the year because the whole family is skiing together! ? Also this time of year 2 of my ski buddies and I free ski Big lake. That’s what it’s all about, skiing for the shear fun of it and spending the day with your best friends! What a life?
  17. Skipped this past weekend rainy cold and breezy here in the great PNW. Skied Big lake again with 2 of my regular ski buddies . @Rednucleus you need to ask your boss for a day off and come join us ?. Weather was fantastic water 48 air 46 sun shining. Glass water all afternoon and can you imagine we were the only boat on the water? finished the day with oyster burgers and beer at the Conway tavern. Nothing better then spending the day with your ski buddies doing what we love. Season still not over yet!
  18. Have to second @Rednucleus the foursome at Bow lake is the best group of guys to ski with hands down. My wife and kids who support my ski addiction. Have to also give it up for my orthopedic surgeon who replaced both my knees and my physical therapist who challenged me and made me work my butt off during rehab so I could get back to skiing.
  19. Free skied Big lake again today with two of my ski buddies, miss you @Rednucleus . Water 48 air 55 very pleasant with the sun shining. Finished the day off by going to a new BBQ joint. We all left tired ?
  20. Water 49 air 54. A great day of free skiing on the lake with my son and one of my regular ski buddies. Plan on skiing again Wednesday. Season is far from over in the great PNW!
  21. @A_B Yes 59 is way too young. Sorry for your loss. Will keep you and your lake partner’s family in my prayers. Very wise words.
  22. Skied Big lake (Mount Vernon Wa.) air 52 lake 54. Very nice in a dry suit. Going to ski there again Wednesday. Season isn’t over yet!?
  23. One of my ski buddies has a green 1998 Malibu Sportster that looks like new and is still running strong with almost 900 hrs. I have a 2002 Malibu Sunsetter LXI with 400hrs that is also green and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
  24. @motoskier I had both knees replaced. Left done in December 2014 right done in January 2016. Surgery was first thing in the morning and by early afternoon I was up walking and doing PT. Went home the next morning each time. Did home PT for 2 weeks then went to a physical therapist 2x per week for a month. During this time I would spend 3-4hrs doing exercises at home (riding station bike, walking on the treadmill, lifting weights and resistance training and any other exercise that would help with my recovery) my therapist gave me all kinds of home exercises. I treated my rehab as my full time job so attacked it everyday. My goal was to get back to work in 2 months and I was successful. Next goal was to umpire baseball games in March ?Then I wanted to get back to skiing in April when our season starts??. I know I would not have reached my goals without my aggressive rehab schedule. When skiing I don’t give my knees any thought. I just go out and ski as hard as I can. My Dr. was very understanding and supportive and I have nothing but good things to say about him. Good luck with your procedure. Also as @Rednucleus pointed out check out the thread he mentions.
