The Wednesday night crew was at it again with the water temp at Bow lake in the low 60’s and the air temp in the mid 50’s. Rain to start the evening but after the first set no more with a few sun breaks. Really pleasant night to ski. We had our annual seafood boil for dinner topped off with rhubarb ice cream. I was attending Washington State in Pullman when the mountain blew. Started to rain ash and got completely dark around noon. Really weird feeling. Needless to say there were quite a few “ash parties” during this time

The Wednesday night crew rotates between my Sunsetter LXI and Doug’s Sportster. @Rednucleus and Ken pay for gas. We share ropes and everyone helps wipe down the boat after use. As far as driving goes we all take turns trying not to drive right after or before a set. When it comes to dinner after we usually pick a menu the week before and everyone helps out to fill it except for the homemade ice cream that’s mine!?? We too are best friends and couldn’t imagine skiing with anyone else regularly ? For us Wednesday night is the best night of the week and can’t come too soon. We also take a ski week vacation together to lake Curlew for lots of free skiing and fellowship. Yes we take a portable course to set up and also bring along our wives (who else is going to do the dishes?)?????? this is the second best week of the year for me right after my family week on lake Entiat. The Wednesday night crew is like family to me

The owner of Bow lake bought this boat and tried it out on Wednesday night after our ski time. Very load and fast with quite the wind wash behind it. Maybe next week he can take us for a pull? You never know what the Wednesday night crew will be up to next ?

The Wednesday night crew minus @Rednucleus ☹️ finished up our 7 days in a row of skiing this morning at Big lake. Water 61 air 58 beautiful morning on the lake with just 2 other ski boats and a pair of eagles keeping watch over us. Weather is going to turn to rain this coming week so glad we got to ski this much. Big thanks to my friend Keith for the use of his dock and boat lift? next ski day for the Wednesday night crew is of course Wednesday at our home site Bow lake. What’s for dinner @Rednucleus? @braindamage that was my wife’s ski of choice for over 40 years until I convinced her to upgrade last year to a new Radar. She really loves her new ski. The old Jobe has a lot of sentimental value for her as it was the same ski her brother used back in the day and he taught her how to ski. He was a phenomenal skier and barefooter who sadly died tragically in an auto accident 21 years ago May 7. Always think what he could have done with today’s modern equipment.

The Wednesday night crew was back at it last night on Big lake minus @Rednucleus ☹️ Going to ski this am and Sunday am also. Have a friend who lives on the lake and let’s us use his dock and this weekend his boat lift also as his boat is in the shop getting a stereo upgrade? super good conditions with water 59 and air in the 70’s for the weekend. Even talked my wife into joining us this am? happy Mother’s Day dear!❤️????

The Wednesday night crew kicked off our Bow lake season today. Air 65 water 56. Beautiful sunny day a little windy at times but overall good conditions. Finished off the night with dinner of @Rednucleus famous egg casserole my augratin potatoes Ken’s assortment of fruit and 3lbs of bacon and Doug’s bloody Mary’s and topped it all off with homemade bacon maple ice cream. What a great way to start the season! Many more Wednesday’s to ski eat and enjoy each other ‘s company to come?

The Wednesday night crew switched things up yesterday and skied Clear lake. Tried Big lake but with the governor lifting restrictions on fishing and boating here in Wa the lake was full of fishermen in all kinds of boats and there were even boats pulling tubes☹️ Clear lake is smaller but the water was excellent water 56 air 66 still without @Rednucleus ☹️ That will change tonight as we kick off our season on Bow lake and our annual Bacon Feast meal to follow?. Time to finally get the band back together!

@"Pat M" I have the 1/2 length Stokes super pro wet suit my son has one as well and one of my ski partners @Rednucleus has the 3/4 length . They are extremely thin but warm! Way more durable than the Camaro. One of my other ski partners has a Balcktec that is only 1 year old and already has several holes in it from normal use. My other ski partner has a 1/2 length Camaro that had zipper issues right from the beginning. I also have a Stokes Nitro vest. Get the Stokes wetsuit you won’t be disappointed. They make great products have great customer service and support this site like @Horton says

Ordered a superflex pro today. Can’t wait till it gets here and try it out. If it performs anything like my Stokes vest it will be fantastic. By the way the customer service from the people at Stokes is second to none! Thanks and keep developing more great ski gear

@Rednucleus like we all say “can’t have too much bacon!” Looking forward to the first dinner too. Mom always said “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” even if it’s for dinner?

Big lake water 58 air 59 a great day of free skiing with 2 of the other Wednesday night crew (miss u @Rednucleus) haven’t skied in a month. Getting ready for the official start to our season on Bow lake next Wednesday. Bring on the skiing the dinners and the fellowship we all share. Hands down the greatest group of guys to ski with and be able to call FRIENDS!?

@LoopSki just saw your post and had to say this. 10 Barrel is a really cool brewery in Bend, Oregon. Made a trip there a few years during fresh hop season. What a great time to visit this town! There are something like 20-30 breweries located there. Tried like heck to visit as many as I could in the 3 days I spent there. Finally cried uncle?This town is a great vacation spot snow skiing in the winter and hiking ,mountain biking and kayaking in the summer. High desert area so pretty much good weather most of the time

@dthate I purchased a Nitro vest for last season and it is far and away the best vest I have ever worn! Switched from a Camaro . The Nitro fits better , doesn’t absorb water like the Camaro and dries super fast. I will never wear anything else!
