  1. @"Keith Menard" saw an earlier thread about Stokes vests with all the positive comments and checked out a video of @Thomasasher talking about the Nitro 2.0 . Talked to him on the phone and he explained the blue steel and the Nitro were very similar. Decided that I liked black over blue?. Plus my ski partner @Rednucleus had nothing but great things to say about Stokes products.
  2. @"Keith Menard" I had the same problem with my impact best. Loved it at first but the more I used it not so much. Stitching started to come apart , got extremely heavy when wet and took forever to dry. Bought a Stokes Nitro 2.0 love at first use. So light, fits great and drys in a hurry. One of the guys I ski with @Rednucleus bought a Stokes 3/4 wet suit and loves it. He hates to be cold and his new Stokes wetsuit solved that problem. Also echo the great customer service from @Thomasasher. I definitely am a satisfied customer. Thanks.
  3. @bsmith glad to help out. My knees were so painful and restricting my daily life so I decided to go for it even though the “experts” said I was too young. My Dr was very encouraging and I told him I wanted to be back skiing in 4 months and he said “no problem” as long as you do the PT. Had some painful days during rehab, muscle pain not joint pain. A lot of the the rehab is mental as well as physical. Positive attitude with a goal in mind really helps. Good luck to you!
  4. @escmanaze sure I am 60. Had my first knee replacement when I was 55 and my second at 57. I have a very physically demanding job, umpire baseball, hike with my wife and generally am an active guy. No knee problems anymore???
  5. @ Ed Johnson I use a treadmill to do my running and walking on now. Mine has springs and gives a nice soft landing. I also ride my bike. I put my 10 speed on a trainer and ride in my gym in the bad weather. My rehab was done from December to April and the weather in the PNW can be quite nasty that time of year. My Dr said to “use “ my knees as much as I want can’t really damage them structurally. Love modern medicine!
  6. @bsmith my knees are better then ever! No worries crossing the wake or on my turns. Don’t even think about them when skiing just go for it. My Dr. Said they are structurally as sound as you can get.
  7. @DanE I have had both knees replaced. The right in 2014 and the left in 2016. Was back skiing in 4 months. The rehab was grueling but well worth the effort! I went to PT twice a week and did my own at home 7 days a week. I treated it as my full time job so spent many hrs in my home gym everyday. Set goals and work hard to get there. I have NO PAIN what so ever in my knees now and am physically active. Best thing I ever did. One of my ski partners had a hip replacement and is skiing better than ever! Good luck with your procedure. After it is all over you will wonder why you waited so long.
  8. I have a 02 Sunsetter LXI and just love it. Lots of room great ski wake and handles like a dream. One of the guys I ski with has a 98 Malibu Sportster and you really can’t tell the difference in the wakes. Be patient and wait for one to turn up you won’t be disappointed!
  9. My son just purchased his first boat last week. Had to drive 4 hrs. Boat is a 2005 Centurion T-5 Comp. Previous owner was ocd and boat is in fantastic shape with 350 hrs. Has perfect pass a tower a bimini and is an open bow. Plenty of room for his family of 4. All maintenance was done by a local dealer. Price was great. Not a Mastercraft Nautique or Malibu but for his needs, mostly open water skiing the boat is and will do everything he needs. Searched for about 2 months. Maybe when his 2 young daughters get older ( they are 4 and 2) and get serious about skiing he can look for one if the big 3 boats but for now all is good and they are enjoying their first boat.
  10. Looking at a 2005 Centurion T-5 comp. Anyone have any experience with this boat? What kind of wake can I expect at 30-34 mph 15-22 off? Thanks for any info.
  11. Tried out my new Stokes vest last night. Love the fit, feel and flotation. Best vest I have ever worn. Can’t say enough good things about the customer service from Thomas. Thanks so much. Looking forward to many great days of skiing with it.
