  1. Definitely it’s the off loading. It works on my phone (which never off loads) but not in my iPad which off loads unused apps.
  2. His primary (if not sole) focus should be getting across the wake without fear and with speed, angle, and body position (@markn photo). Won’t matter how wide he starts, he will loose all the width after a few balls if he can’t get across the wake properly. When he is not able to ski the course he should ditch the turns and just practice getting across the wake. A while back, @RobHazelwood posted a video on working up to a full speed wake crossing which could be beneficial.
  3. Got my first set of the year in yesterday, my first set as a member at NoName lake. Pretty shaky skiing but felt really good to get out there. On our public water course we can’t get started until May so it’s a real treat to get started in March on a beautiful spring day, air 69, water 59. Getting out there again today to get some driving and more buoys in.
  4. Jobe made snow skis as well as waterskis back in like 1985. At least they had the Jobe name on them, no idea if they were made in the same place as the waterskis.
  5. @Horton What data do you need to see to “change your behavior”? Fitbit provides a lot of different data points but may not be what you’re looking for. My wife and I have been Fitbit users for years and have had different models. We love all the data available but the quality of the device is at times suspect. We have both gotten warranty replacements. They back there product week but it’s frustrating when they stop working for no apparent reason. They were recently purchased by google which may or may not be a good thing.
  6. I just checked the app and having the same issue. @OSSKI we all love and depend on your app. Please let us know if there is anything ($$) we can do to help.
  7. You use black beans for buoys on the table at Chipotle as you discuss ski technique with one of your ski partners.
  8. @swbca and here I thought I was the only one. 😉
  9. Thanks @horton, I’ve learned so much on this site. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
  10. I think my wife got the hint on a dry robe 😉
  11. If the regulators are coming for the surfers, it’s only a matter of time before they come for skiers. It has already happened here in the Portland OR area. A major section of the Willamette river has a complete ban on towed water sports during the summer. Where we ski, surfing and ballast is outlawed plus we get to pay an extra fee to participate in any form of towed activities.
  12. Terry is great at explaining things in multiple ways so you can understand. He also offers various levels of video coaching from a single pass to a whole set.
  13. Or just unscrew the whole boot and let the medical staff cut it off or give you enough drugs so that they can pull it off. 😜 If you really wanted to save the boot, you could have someone dismantle it while it’s on your foot and slide it off.
  14. I’ll vote for you Mike! Metric is way better on all fronts.
  15. Course is coming out today so, I’m done for a while. 😒
  16. One tip I can offer when you are concerned about epoxy sticking where you don’t want (like threads) is the coat the area with Vaseline. This will prevent and glue from sticking and you just clean up the area with alcohol once the epoxy has hardened.
  17. I use seals from Amazon all the time. e.g. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BGXQTGB/?coliid=I3V7BCLIAA55ND&colid=3IE1GQXM8YP3R&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1
  18. I moved to the Radar HRT this year and like it a lot. The BOA version gives a lot of control for how tight it is on your foot which may be helpful for your high instep. Before I got mine I ran into a guy that came from an r-style and likes the HRT.
  19. Weather getting in the way and my less dedicated ski partners are distracted. Hope to keep skiing through the first week of November.
  20. The Senate is a great ski at any build level. You probably won't need to adjust the fin so don't rule out the Alloy if that is what you budget allows. But generally buy the highest build you can afford. SIA is a great place for deals but if your in a hurry that may not work for you. It's end of season so maybe your local shop will cut you a deal on a left over '23 as the '24's are a new shape.
  21. Nothing was being dictated at this tournament. Some folks went all the way back to there opener and other the pass they just missed. The rule book seems top indicate everything is optional.
  22. So, skied the tournament yesterday and chose to T&B like most everyone else as lighting in the evening could have been pretty tough. The photo below is from 9:00AM. Overall, I liked doing the T&B. I had a decent score for me (0.5 at -32) in round one. Round two I blew my gate at -28 and ended up getting only 4 on a pass I’ve been pretty solid on. I like being able to take another crack at it with having to stew on the bank for another couple hours. Ran the -28 on the retry and ended up with 2@-32 which is one below my PB.
  23. @MISkier yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
