  1. skill - getting my arms closer to my waist and staying strong through the lean. What will help me achieve that is probably dropping some weight.
  2. @KRoundy I had @JoelHowley set mine up to this. I love these settings on my 68”
  3. What score can you run in the course? My regular good practice set is 3 or 4@32. I’m challenging myself to drop a good amount and run 32 more often than not. Also I get tired quickly and I’m sore the days following which restricts how much I can ski. Just interested to see how the bigger guys go.
  4. blockage? have you changed the fuel filter in the fuel control cell - thats easy and cheap to try before anything else.
  5. @dan1166 - not normal. You might need to have the prop and or the prop shaft checked - or engine alignment
  6. @JoelHowley - I think we need to do a video to clear all this up lol...
  7. Interesting topic. I've got limited $$ to spend on gear so I did buy 2nd hand decent stuff - started with a tiny 59" single for them to just get up and ski around on socially and then started them on that into the course - they were about 6/7. Once they progressed it got hard - they grow fast they improve fast and I couldn't justify a new ski every year - I opted for a 65" so they could stay on it for years to come - theoretically too big but at slow speeds it helped having the larger ski. My kids (and most I've seen can turn the ski but the struggle is the pull behind the boat - largely due to massive washes - I'd say the larger ski didn't help that but in the end they progressed fast enough that they overcame the fear of the wash and went up in speed that the wash became less horrible luckily. I know other parents that have gone from a 62 to a 63 to a 65 but my budget just wouldn't stretch that far. And then theres the boots! I've just stuck to Wiley for now as I think its a safe good boot to learn on - and yes I update those as they grow out of them as thats a non negotiable for me.
  8. @BraceMaker mine is the model without deadly creatures. Ive had wasps, frogs and spiders jumping out at me driving down the course.
  9. @rockdog yeah I’m the hilarious and better looking one.
  10. @Jody_Seal - not much elevation here in Brisbane Aust - It's got a 654 on it - seems to be the correct prop. The wash just doesn't feel as nice as a 2012 200 I also ski behind. At all speeds and all rope lengths - the kids say the other 200 is better at their slower speeds and I agree at 34 as well. I tow @JoelHowley at 58 he agrees too... maybe its not the prop - could be the hydrogate? that is suppose to be level with the hull when in slalom mode? At really low fuel it is better - the fuel tank position wouldn't have moved? Previous owner was a mad tricker so my random theory is they may have adjusted something to make it a nice trick wash?
  11. What prop is everyone running on the SN 200 with a 5.7? And does a prop impact the wash size and feel? My boats wash feels substantially "harder" or bigger than other 200's I've skied with - its an Open Bow - wonder if they are heavier than the closed bow? When my fuel is very low it feels a lot better but anything over a quarter feels harsh. Tricker's love the wash but I'm not tricking.
  12. Lets make a cheaper 3 event boat !! Will sell like hotcakes... or not...
  13. bugger!! Would have been awesome to see...
  14. @Laz - easy job ? Mine is getting sloppy...
  15. For those that the tape isn't working, how much tape are you using? I'm covering the back of it with heaps - painful to move the binding but I don't play with my binding position too much. I think its worth it after I didn't think i could ski (or even walk properly) again after my accident. I could get up on ski but I couldn't hit the wake at speed without a jolting pain for a year. I thought I was destined to become a footer lol.
  16. I have been on a mob for ~ 6 years after an ugly stack then broke my foot in 4 places. I love it - I have since had falls where mine released out the side which I wonder how I would have fared using a reflex. As for the front of the plate - just use good quality 3m double tape - it works well for the purpose and I have the longer plate - Mike is great with helping set that up too. Performance wise I like that I can "use" any boot I want.
  17. Love it - how good is a pre work ski to start the day!!
  18. If its the same as a 2015 - you can access it from the outside through the chrome panel - just unscrew that and get your hand in there - it just unplugs. Mine is an OB so that made it easier I think as the bolt holding it is the same thread as the hand rail in the bow.
  19. My sons who are 11 and 9 and keep growing causing me to need new gear all the time use Wiley boots on their slalom skis. My 9yr old son is ready for a size small (currently xs). My 11 yr old is currently using a small and normally I'd pass that down and get him into a medium - that won't work because the 11yr old is not quite ready for a medium yet. Is there a way to re-build the small boot so that it is a bit bigger (new overlays?) so that I don't have to buy another small and then need to buy a medium probably in 6 months time? Yep I'm being a tight arse. I guess at some point it may be cheaper to put them in a reflex across both their trick and slalom skis and just update the shell as they grow?
  20. @BigSpray - are you saying it has less flex then the S Line? At what rope length?
  21. @dbutcher - what line length are you skiing at? I think the experience will be different depending if your trying it at long line vs shorter lengths?
  22. I put my son on a 65" - which most would say is too big but when they are going slow the bigger ski will help them gain speed across the wake - normally the place they struggle with most - as for their turns, they are normally not the problem. And it saves $$ as they grow.
  23. @Bruce_Butterfield thanks for that = perfect and thanks for the explanation of what trick is what. They are on a single. Having fun clearing the wake atm but my older boy is now able to do all the tricks up to and including the Wake front. The wake back is next then!
  24. I never use to see much in changing settings and I always put it down to poor form - BUT I recently got my fin changed and OMG it is so much better. I wouldn't expect my pro shop to help too much but I would expect some way of sending a video or two to help dial it in. But there are a lot of 'part time slalom' or social skiers out there that wouldn't even touch it or know that adjusting things would make a difference.
  25. I've never been on a trick - trying to "coach" my kids progression - any tips on what the progression should look like in the early days for a 8 yr old and 10 yr old? The boys LOVE it - when they get stuck at a speed for slalom its great that they can fall back on trick and work on that. everyone tells me tricking will help their slalom.
