  1. @dave2ball 100% not. I don’t do a lot of tournaments so I’d rather enjoy my practice sets and live with it during tournaments.
  2. @dave2ball - I bought the white ML rope - 10.75m (39.5' off) Dlx Mainline Water Ski Rope (8 section with marking sleeves) And use the pro in tournaments - found both too stretchy for my liking.
  3. Which rope will feel like a non ML rope? As in like the HO or Radar? Less stretchy.
  4. On another note why was Jacinta wearing a Mastercraft shirt - what happened to her Nautique sponsorship?
  5. @customski - how good would an L class comp somewhere be that had amateurs compete along side the pro's - perhaps also a night event just for the pro's... just need someone to back it with $$
  6. @Horton - interesting to hear your opinion on the commentators - you're right too. I guess over here in Australia we are so removed from any international competitions except for Moomba that they do jump on the Aussie's and support them more so. Although they have been so pumped for the internationals when they are successful due to the fact we know how hard it is to get here and the expense involved for them. Hopefully next year we see a little more depth. On a different note I don't know why we wouldn't have some smaller lead up events in the weeks prior to Moomba - or after. I wonder if the pro skiers would come to another site pre or post Moomba is there was some cash reward.
  7. @dave2ball - I've skied enough to know it wasn't the driver or ZO - I'm talking about a huge difference - it sling shots you into the wash out of your turn. Then in practice it was the same with my normal driver. @Broussard - they were using the masterline Pro and I bought the same - its just so different to other ropes at long line - I bought a new radar and it felt great first ski. The old rope a season old - I was due for a new one. I'll stick to the radar for now
  8. I ski into 13 pretty regularly but rarely run it - just to put this into perspective. I went to a tournament a few months ago and the rope felt completely different to mine and I struggled with it as it was super elastic. I thought I better get a new rope mine must be shot. Got a new masterline rope and it is just so so elastic at the longer lines - when I got to 14 it was nice but at the 18 and 16 it was horrible - so much so that I struggled to run passes. I'm a bigger guy and I'm sure that isn't helping but does anyone else have the same issue> Or am I just being too delicate? Went back to a new stiffer rope today and ran deep 13 and felt great, which sucks because the rope in the tournaments aren't going to change!

Oh and I'm backing the local Joel Howley to do good things!

Couple of local Aussie juniors have made the Open's - keep an eye on them - they will be future names in the sport. Many local to the lakes near me - so good too see them coming through. Moomba is so good - amazing venue with the city and the crowds - and the tricky conditions make for some fascinating skiing - real gritty stuff
  11. @dave2ball good question - I've never had issues with the bridle rubbing the ski so I was only concerned with rubber grip holding up. And yep the Kevlar gloves don't help!
  12. I've used Radar and HO - now I'm thinking Masterline but is it going to last longer given the increase in price? I'm not considering performance really as I've never really had issues with grip.
  13. I haven't ridden it but I know a few people on it over here in Oz and they have loved it from their first set... Must be something good going on. Horton's review was glowing from memory.
  14. @Mose - tough question. Where do you want the responsiveness to be? In general I found the round tail block to be more responsive through the turn but the square gave me more behind the boat... I'm currently on the stock but I did also find the square to be good as well being a bigger guy - I'll be trying the square again for the next few weeks.
  15. If your social skiing - the ski market has heaps that will suit. I'd go a 67 - if your social skiing you will typically be going faster then what you would if you wanted to learn the course. Connelly Carbon V has the 3 different tail blocks that might be fun to try and change as you become more ski fit or drop more weight? Radar is always good - the senate is good I hear. Good luck
  16. Longest day of the year over here in Australia! Sounds like a good day for a ski after work!
  17. I've gone from a GTR to DV8 - not the greatest skier but I have found trying different tail blocks fascinating in how they can help. I see as my skiing advances or doesn't or my fitness improves that the different tail blocks will give me more options.
  18. Once my boys could ski confidently I put them on a 65 - theoretically too big... but going as slow as we needed to for them to run the course in the early days the bigger size helped carry them. Ideally I would have dropped them down to probably a 63 once they increased speed but I didn't have the $$ to buy more skis so they've continued on them.
  19. I’ll show my Aussie bias and throw Geoff Carrington into that list @Horton
  20. Yeah wrap that.... or some of it
  21. The emotion is what we want to see - I'd like to see a little more of it. I mean throwing equipment isn't great but that "throw" was pretty contained. Charlie's reaction was understandable for that level - he didn't throw it again or carry on. Different if it was my 10yr old - he can be upset but also needs to learn to move on and make sure its fun at his age.
  22. Love watching kids ski the course…she’s going great… watching my kids progress is my favourite part of it all. Freddy with some great advice as always.
  23. @Andre - I previously had the 450 and 409 - no problems at all - never heard of any issues either. As soon as I searched about the 5.7's - the internet lit up with threads and similar problems. Can't believe PCM/nautique didn't replace all of these under warranty when they found the common issue appearing
  24. Hi - yes I'm thinking of getting mine welded professionally to try and buy myself some time until there is stock available.
