  1. Hey guys. Seems like the manifolds on these engines are prone to cracking. Do they are crack at the same place? Ie at the o2 sensor? This was previously repaired but obviously hasn’t held. I assume new manifolds is the only fix… do they tend to also crack internally so that water can get into the engine and kill it?
  2. I love the 200 wake... then again I like all the top 3 (the latest Mal is clearly the worst at long line though). I taught my kids behind an old aussie ski boat that had a huge wash and it was hard - then when they got to ski behind a 200 or MC at a comp they skied great... I never want to hear them complain about the wake of a boat - I hear some kids complaining and think if they didn't hear mum and dad complaining they wouldn't be doing it.... haven't skied a new SN
  3. watch the first video here - I do a lot of driving for Joel's coaching and he progresses long line skiers so well with this information - most coaches forget what its like to ski long line and that long line skiers aren't generating the speed needed to stop cutting when your "technically" suppose to. Joel is all about cutting longer past the second wash a bit to get you wider so that its possible to have a pre turn - this will help a lot once you progress and gain more speed earlier ... I'd add that there is a lot to like in the video you posted - I think you could progress quite fast. Perhaps load up a vid for Joel to review
  4. Are there any issues with the 5.7s response to the single puck upgrade? I heard it’s not optimal?
  5. Well done @Vicki - thats awesome - keep it going...
  6. As much as my 9 and 7 year old love slalom there are days or even weeks when they just aren’t interested in chasing buoys as much. No problem they still love being out in the boat but just doing other things… trick is awesome for that but so are tubes and discs and kneeboards. Have fun everyone

    Engine issue

Possibly it has the wrong prop?? But I doubt it’s that simple… good luck
  8. I generally like colour.... BUT - that does look classy - great boat John...
  9. Joel is very clear that in no way is his boot safe and would never recommend anyone else to try it - BUT it does give him the feel he is looking for to help him perform with his style. I guess he willing to take that risk/reward balance. Yep snow boot front and Forman rear... and the boot didn't cause his foot to break at worlds - the fact that it (the boot) broke during the fall caused his foot to break I believe...
  10. Free skiing is great to get some fitness with longer runs etc on your slalom ski... but otherwise if I'm free skiing - I leave the slalom ski at home and just have fun on other things like discs, freeboard, finless, planks etc etc - its old school stuff but so much fun
  11. Tricky question - you'll probably want something one level down from the top of the range to begin with otherwise you'll be upgrading pretty quick. After a couple of seasons of progressing - you'll end up upgrading again if he's keen enough to justify that. Possibly a radar senate? I think boots are crucial - need to be comfortable and safe - again the radar vectors or a wiley are a good option from what I hear from others.
  12. I can't find a reply to watch - can anyone give me a quick run down? Freddy and Jamie won - I get that but would be nice to know how it played out etc
  13. Carbon Pro, MC 2014+ or a 200. For me the 200 wins for wakes plus driveability
  14. Outsider Slasher Pioneer Horizon The glide or just glide This is harder than I thought. I thought DV8 was horrible... apologies Connelly
  15. Do you know how to use Zero off? just making sure its not something simple like not having it set to "on" Then you have to use the throttle to get up to speed and keep the throttle on to maintain that speed you have set
  16. I think @Horton is suggesting that they look ready to race wearing bikini bottoms boardies and a radar slalom ski. What I think you’ll find is that this is a social category... almost looks like a family category ie: where everyone in the team has to be family members and it is very social usually with max speed limits and with limitations on not being allowed to use proper race skis. Looks very Aussie
  17. How much do you barefoot? for me the benefits of the slalom wash outweigh the occasional foot off a boom issues - get an extension and you should be ok... also get a 6L if you can
  18. I’d say these systems make the jump from being an ok driver to a good driver 100 times faster and easier. It has for me. Now to go from good to great could take a little longer but still much easier watching it back at each end. I think it will be an eye opener for the part time drivers at amateur comps when this comes in.
  19. Does ski path allow you to use your own device? As in are you able to download the app to your own tablet or phone? And ski path not needing a cellular connection might attract more people to it.
  20. @Jtim3032 it may have needed an update actually. We were in a rush so perhaps overlooked that. I’ll report back shortly. ??
  21. @skiinxs - no the out of tolerance measurements were all over the place some 30cm some 25cm - I think the biggest one was 40cm?? so it looks like it was connected but just way out? And yes the green indicator is on - Is that the green GPS light? Is there a way to tell how good the signal is? Actually on a different note id be interested to see how people use surepath's feature of the tolerance that can be set. I've started setting it to 5cm - that way the warning beep comes on early and tells me to correct well before I get close to being out of tolerance - works well for me. It almost needs a continuous beep that gets faster the closer your going to out of tolerance - that would give the driver continuous feedback - probably should make this a separate post.
  22. We have been using Surepath for a few weeks now and I think it is a great tool and we should be very thankful for the technology being created. I have got some questions though as we have experienced some issues - that I think will come down to set up but I'd like to see if anyone else has experienced the same problems. Yesterday it was working perfectly in one direction but then it was reporting huge out of center measurements coming back the other way - consistently for every 2nd pass. I was driving and the pass was definitely not out by the figures that Surepath was reporting. I think it could possibly be our set up. We use a Wifi hotspot from our phones and reception is normally pretty good at 4G. Our run ins are very short and it was overcast - could any, some or all of those cause this type of issue? Could it cause a weaker GPS signal perhaps? We didn't have time to replot the course otherwise we would have done that in the first instance. thanks
  23. I have had it too... for me I used a thicker handle (which I hated) and a strap - but one better than the one you have the link for. also you have to reduce the number of sets - or what I found worked the number of passes in each set - and the intensity - drop back a line length or a speed. Do some of those and work up from there.
  24. Cancelled. Hopefully next year is back on and supported
