  1. Its sad that there are quality slalom boats out there being made that are not sent to the boat tests for approval. For a club boat I guess the LX would be a good option but you would not be able to pull a sanctioned event. Any one order one lately? What is the cost compared to the LXI?
  2. OB, Ours only has 350 on it but I always have people asking us how much so it is good to know where good 196s are located for sale. The problem with selling is that you need to get a new boat and that is a loose loose. We loose the small boat we love and we have to dump another 15K to upgrade to a barge/yaght. If we can find an 09 196, that would be best case.
  3. Ed, They can still make the big boats for the big lakes and families, there is no shortage of them. The 200 and the Carbon Pro are still too big for private lakes. I need a tool, not a bunch of overpriced bling. The LX was a good boat, but it kinda started this open bow thing.
  4. How much for your 08? how many hours?
  5. Just what the sport needs. Another boat/yaght that is way to big for 2250X350 foot lakes. Will someone please bring back a 18 foot sports car that can pull 3 event and not break the bank?
  6. Full ballast with a observer in the boat will toss spray in the face headwind 35. Take the water out and it drops down.
  7. If you have 2 people in the boat leave it empty. Some say that 100 in the bow helps the driver. Grind the rudder until you like the feel of the wheel. Head wind and full ballast makes marbel size water drops to the eyeballs of the skier at 35 and in.
  8. Remove the throttle knob and replace everything under it with a Carbon Pro.
  9. Overtons Pro Champs. Wait for the sale and load up.
  10. I have skied behind 2 197s that have had weight added to the bow and the 28 wake was a brick. In both cases we removed the weight and the wake was butter. There should be a rule at tourneys that the long line kids and skiers starting under 32 MPH all get the CC200 or Carbon Pro.
  11. Adding weight to the bow of the MC makes that wake go from big to big and hard. Leave the wake alone on the MC.
  12. Greg, I spoke to Andy. They finished all 3 rds on Sat last year but it depends on weather and number of skiers. He is not sure how many are going to be signed up. PJ, MR and Mrs MS and the Hansons are all heading down.
  13. We will be there. Our lake is (was) in the high 80s but lots of rain this week so I expect it to coll down a bit but it looks like we will have temps in the 90s all next week. Dream Lakes will fill like skiing at JDs place. La, soup.
  14. If you feel narrow at the ball at 35, stay away from A.
  15. Mad11, How is the water level at the plex?
  16. Willy. Nate is great, CP has record but when the big money and title are on the line, you have to go with willy. Nate or JT could pull it off if willy is not on.
  17. A 2009 196 with around 100 hours would be my choice but there are not many out there. I will low ball every MC/CC promo guy out there to see what we can do and then look at how the Carbon Pro resale is doing. I am just not looking forward to having to have a Yaght/Barge/Cruise ship to drive up and down a 2300 foot lake.
  18. We have had both e-milfoil and curly leaf pond weed in our lake. After a testing of Sonar we realized that we needed more than the gallon we put in the lake 2300X300 average depth about 5feet. We are now using only Reward. It runs anywhere from 120-160 per gallon. We use about 4 gallons total with 2 gallons per 23 gallons of water in a bulk sprayer. Reward is a contact herbiside and must hit what you want dead. It will kill most emergent weeds known to man. We have a bit of algae also, so we put about 75lbs of crystal copper sulfate in at the same time. Our lake is now crystal clear, weed free and skis great.
  19. To date, not many people signed up.
  20. The White Top Nomad was a great ski. It skipped at least 40 yards off wards dock with the wind at its back.
