  1. The S-1 comes with extra inserts, 3 in front and 4 rear to mount the system. I suppose you could drill another brand and mount these same way you attach Fogman's.
  2. May be a dumb question, but I'm no mechanic.... What would it take to convert a fuel injected motor, 2003 Mastercraft TBI, over to a throttle by wire. Is this possible?
  3. Best system ever! I wear them tight to stay in. Wore them loose once, crashed and one foot stayed in. I didn't get hurt but I don't like that idea, it's the same as rubber binbings. So I'm staying in!
  4. Mine developed a blue discoloration after my trip to Bennett's.
  5. US Gear is the best for be. 12" or 13" Bent more than others. high grip rubber. Curved ends instead of end caps = no pinching. ARS is standard for this model US Gear http://www.usgearonline.com/proV_handle.html http://www.usgearonline.com/images/products/17_ProVocs.gif -Pro V OCS- The Radius Handle was Designed for the Serious Slalom Skier. The Curved Radius Ends Eliminate Handle Roll, which Aleviates Wrist Strain and Over Gripping. This removes stress from the wrist and fingers, and helps to prevent carpal issues down the line. The OCS and Eliptical Grip Rubber put the padding where it's needed most, at the finger-tips, which provides more cussion where the forces associated with skiing are applied to the hand. The 18° Center Bend in the Handle, provides a more natural grip position for the hand and wrist, further aleviating the wrist strain which can cause pain in the muscles and ligaments in the wrist and hand.  http://www.usgearonline.com/images/products/productpics/handle_Disection_ProV_webSized.jpg
  6. I have been using a US Gear "Bent" handle for years. I love the curved ends because they can not pinch you index or pinky. TW can make an Arm Guard that will fit it very well. http://www.usgearonline.com/proV_handle.html
  7. MS,  Can't you find another A-1 to ride to see if it's just your replacement ski that's bad? Maybe the flex is not right and HO will replace it for you. You can ride mine if you are anywhere near Jachary, LA., between the 6th and 10th. Chuck
  8. The Blue Monza LTD. Set a PB on that ski and then crashed so hard on it one day in a freaky crash, it nearly killed me! Lovin my A1 now, works better every time I ride it.
  9. John Horton  You are a very wise...and handsome man...and a great skier....and....do I win the DVD now?  Chuck  PS: you still have my address?
  10. ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300314980062&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123
  11. Jacke, I'm on RS-1 boots (they're fantastic!) and plate (9's) LFF. I can easily get to stock distance from rear heel to tail, 29.75" for a 67.5" A-1. I can still go one full hole forward of stock if I needed to as well as three holes back. RS-1 plate can also adjusts in half hole increments. I have my feet touch, no gap and I rotate my rear boot. Look at the bottom of your plate, many have extra holes to mount the boot to the plate, you may be able to solve this problem with the bindings you have. IMHO - Stay bone stock with this ski and just ride it. Your body / style will adjust easily to this ski. This is no ordinary HO ski, you need to get on the front more than the Monza. You really just need to be balanced on the ski, not forward and not back. Skied this past weekend with Marcus Brown (Great coach) and he set everyone at stock setting, they're the best for both fin and boots. All I can say is modify your plates to get to their stock front settings and give your self a chance to get use to it.
  12. For me it was; 1.) Move COM to the front of the ski by flexing my front leg more 2.) Move my pull out later on my one handed gate 3.) Work on more back arm pressure by pushing my elbow harder to the side of my hip and this.... 4.) ... is a reminder to rotate (open) my hips and not just my shoulders to the boat Lots of passes and work on these points and well as a hand full of reminder tips as well as terrific, easy to understand explainations why these thing work.
  13. Suggest you try the 66.25 ski at 1/8" forward of stock. Works well IMHO Front binding 29.625" to the back of the rubber, just above the plastic horse shoe to the tail 0.77 DFT 6.840 tips 2.508 DÂÂ
  14. Before he went to Bako, we had him for two days, two terrific days Face to Face with Marcus Brown at Sunset Ski Ranch in Mecca. Can't say enough about the quality and caliber of his instruction. We had ten skier, men and women of various ages and skill levels. Marcus tailored each instruction to the students level and each of us had marked improvement. He took his time to check ski settings and made equipment recommendation where appropriate. He brought a beautiful 40th Anniversary Mastercraft 197 which worked and drove like a dream (time for me to trade up from my 2003.) He also brought a bunch of Syndicate A-1's (Awesome ski) and a variety of other HO & O'Neill and other gear to demo. He was accompanied by the lovely Jennifer LaBaw. This girl is so fit, wow! She worked with each of us, showing us waterski specific warm-up drills as well as answering numerous individuals questions concerning their personalized work-outs ideas and needs. We all decided to invite them both back as soon as their busy schedules permit. If you get the chance to attend one of their clinics, I highly recomend both of them. You are guaranteed to leave with a lot more than you came with. Man, they worked us!!! marcus@marcusbrown.net https://www.facetofacetour.com www.afitplace.com ÂÂ
  15. EF, Chet's!  Jealous! Tell him and Wimm I say hello from Chuck Dickey A friend named Ward is suppose to be there on Monday, say Hi if you see him. I'll try the 34 settings in the AM and post some feedback. I love it bone stock but have always been a tinkerer.
  16. MS, What did the 1/8" forward do for you?
  17. Falling on your turn in for the gates at a Sanction tourny, with John Horton at the microphone announcing!
  18. Saw on the Water Ski Forum some discussion of a 34 mph version of the A-1, called the S-1. Anyone heard anything more about it?
  19. I read this email this morning and thought I'd pass it along. I've known Wayne for a number of years and you'd find it very hard to find a nicer guy. He has done more for our sport than anyone I know. Wish him well and pray he recovers quickly and fully. "Wayne Canfield was diagnosed with a brain tumor this afternoon. It looks to be cancerous and they're operating to remove it on Sunday morning at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla. Knowing how fast word spreads in the water ski community, I started a website to keep everyone updated on Wayne's condition. You can visit Wayne's CaringBridge site at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/waynecanfield. Please keep both Wayne and Barbara in your prayers. They know how much everyone cares for them and that they have a huge family pulling for them. Thank you, Laura Johnson"
  20. Great adjustable tow hitch. I lifted my truck and bought a new one. This one is very near new, used 4 times before I lifted my truck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300260998238 $100.00 + shipping to any BOS member
  21. I'm on a 66.25 A-1 and was told the front boot position stock is 29.625" which didn't turn well for me as MSJ stated above. Moved to 29.75" and Wow what a difference! Ski is awesome. RS-1 boots 29.75" front, 17.5" rear. Bone stock fin and wing. 6.850 tips, 2.508 deep, 0.77 dft 9 degree wing. 67.5" goes back Friday, 9/5/08 unless someone wants it $900 + free shipping. email me crdickey at hotmail dot com
  22. After skiing with the Arm-Guard just twice, I've forgotten it's even there. First set was mentally aware, second set was back to normal. Now, I ski with it every time I ski and it has never been in the way. I use a US Gear bent handle and it fits great. Just sent TW an order for one to fit my daughters handle. Skiing is a dangerous sport (as I sit here with an ice pack on my foot) If you ski with out Arm-Guard, you are taking un-necessary risks. IMHO
  23. 66.25" is a keeper! 67.5" blank $900.00 quickly or I have to return it. Free ground shipping to the lower 48. Act quickly or I have to return it this week.
