  1. OB, you may be SOL cause it looks like she may be into chicks
  2. LeonL, I just came from the lake. You can actually see the bottom in 10' deep water. It has been clear many times before. Clear enough that if weeds were gonna grow I thought they would have grown. But it's just crazy how clear it is now.
  3. There are some kind of mussels. Don't think the're zebras though. It hasn't been a really sudden change. It has just increased 2 or 3 ft this fall. It usually gets a bit murky in winter then starts to clear as it warms up. It's just that this year it's gotten clearer than ever before.
  4. I'm running a reflex front at 28 3/8 with rtp. Horton's 106 carbon fin at 2.495 6.750 tips and 0.800 dsc. 34 mph 28,32,35
  5. Hey acmx, yeah it's crazy. 7 ft of vis is probably an underestimate. Skiing has slowed waaay down. Skied Monday in a shorty and it felt comfortable. The water still skied good and i still didn't feel like i needed a wing. Skiing time is gonna go downhill fast though. 27 deg tonight and tomorrow night. I just winterized the boat. Do y'all do any winter skiing?
  6. The water in my lake is clearer than its ever been before. You can easily see the bottom in 7ft deep areas. It's almost like a swimming pool. It's beautiful but I'm scared it's going to get weeds growing in it. Anybody ever seen a pond that clear before that didn't get infested? Also how does that affect the feel of the water? It seems to be skiing good but the best feeling water I've ever skied looked like pea soup with 2 inches of vis.
  7. I hate when that happens. They oughta have some kind of locater beacon signal on them.
  8. I saw Wim removing a Chambon-like plate that he had VHB'd to his ski last winter. He got it off with a crowbar...it did look like he was about to break the ski though. It's definitely best to measure twice and vhb once. The reason I like it is because I was sick of velcro being my release system and I wanted to try a reflex on a ski that couldn't be drilled(warp).
  9. thager, the local way to say it is "War Eagle!". Sorry JD.
  10. KTM, I'm using the Chambon plate with VHB on my warp. I think it's a great option for skis that don't need to be drilled. I'm surprised more Goode owners don't use it. I think if the plate is velcroed instead of VHB it would be wise to cover every sq inch of it. I bet it would bend very easily if it ever did release in a fall.
  11. At home my only access is with an iPhone so I guess it's safari. At work I have MS IE. I can't get either one to do them.
  12. I'm Lindsay Burgreen from Athens, Alabama. Home of my ski lake which I call Area 41. Not bragging but it's an awesome ski site and I feel really fortunate to have it. I grew up Wally skiing on Elk River behind a bass boat with an 85 hp Johnson. Even as scrawny as I was I could pull it sideways. My first slalom was a Cypress Gardens El Bruto which I still have. I'm 45 and just went into M4. Single again with no kids but I do have a cool wire fox terrier named Scout. First course experience was in 1993 on public water. Only got to ski a few times a year at bad sites until 2002 when my lake was completed. I made it into 35 off pretty quick(2004 I think) but my buoy count from there slowed down a bunch. PPB and TPB is 2 at 38. I ride a warp and sometimes and S1. SN 196 in the boathouse. I've skied with Mr and Mrs MS, acmx, and skiep(I think that's it) from BOS. And just today OB dropped in for a couple if sets. We had great conditions for almost mid-October(glad you could make it OB). I really enjoy this forum and am glad to meet all Ballers. So if you're ever in my neck of the woods please look me up. Especially next year. I am cutting back at work and ramping way up on my lake time so I am looking for folks to ski with! Thanks Horton for a cool website and helping bring together good folks!

    Hip pain

I did it this spring after being on double hard-shells for 7 seasons. It really wasn't too hard. I was pretty much back to normal in 10 or 12 sets.

    Ask MS?

acmx, no way! I did get a picture though.

    Ask MS?

Skied in just those ski panties he wears? The only reason I know he has them is because they were draped over his ski in my boathouse one morning.
  16. Beginning with ski yr 2011, I graduated to M4. Maybe a lot of others did as well with not too many coming out of M2 into M3. M2 is a lot smaller group. That's probably not responsible for the whole 40% but it could be part of it.
  17. Ed, that's actually good. Very comparable to a 343hp 196 best I can tell.
  18. That might be 80% more than a 196! Crap
  19. Jody, do you know how gas the 6L uses for 8 pass set? Thanks
  20. Skifreak, it's really hard to focus when I'm in a bad mood. From there it's easy to ski bad. Being focused is the key I think. BTW, I missed my opening pass three times at my last tournament weekend. It was tough to keep a brave face that weekend. Just have to soldier on sometimes.

    Boat Towing

H2oski1326, Yeah the one I'm looking at is half ton extended cab 4x4. I'm surprised at the mileage you are getting though. I thought it would be a good bit higher than that.

    Boat Towing

Thanks for the feedback everybody. H2oski1326, that's what I was hoping to hear. I don't have to tow often but that last time I did it was a 1000 miler to buy my boat. How's the mpg with the 4.8L 4x4?
