  1. You need to better your form. You can do the minimum and make 34 but you have to be doing things right at 36. You will need to extend more and counter more because the ski is going much faster. You have to do more to get the ski to bite, then be patient to allow it to finish. Solid form behind boat is critical but let the boat do the work, don't pull too hard and be fast.
  2. It's a good pain right? Finally out of dry suit, that's a good thing. Now it's time to toughen up that leg.
  3. I just realized I never updated this thread. I bought an 09 SN on eBay and had it shipped from Florida. Had it shrink wrapped which ended up being a huge mistake. As the boat entered California, they had to cut the shrink wrap off to inspect it for some species that CA didn't want in their state. Anyway, the shipper decided to duct tape the shrink wrap back on which didn't hold and flapped all the way to Oregon. It actually damaged to the gelcoat and took several hour to get the tape glue off the boat. Now it looks great, but my heart sunk when it arrived. The shipping broker took off $400 for the problem. Use caution when shrink wrapping a boat and having it shipped.
  4. Sunset Ranch with Terry Winter is awesome! Highly recommended. Great coach. Whatever you do, let us know how it went. Have fun.
  5. Having used the RS-1s,I am always suprised with how many people like them, at least on the forums. I don't like the way they performed "loose" but when I wore them tight, they wouldn't release. But when snug I liked the performance. I think you can get hurt in any set up because I have seen it over the years. Just when I think a certain binding is the safest, someone will get all jacked up, break an ankle or leg. But, being on the FMs for 5 years, I do think they are a safe bet. Good ankle support, comfortable, and decent release. I am now on the goode inter-loc system and no problems so far, knock on wood. Probably not as safe as the FMs however, but I have a lot of confidence in the release system. ÂÂ
  6. I do want to thank Terry Winter for posting his video clips, I have found them to be quite helpful. Keep em coming!
  7. Thats the spirit Rob, no matter what the temp, I like it. That is pretty brave talk coming from the chilly state of Washington. Pretty jealous of Tomas, hope he knows how lucky he is. Sunset is my favorite place to ski, hands down. A 5+ hour trip but it was worth it. However,  Monday morning briefings sucked, after getting back at o dark 30. This weather sure is hampering us in southern Oregon, but hoping to get a set in between the storms tomorrow. Our water temp was 60 last weekend, but not anymore.
  8. These articles are great, valuable learning tools and its free!

There needs to be an in-between when it comes to the flotaion. USCG approved are really bulky but float you well, but some of the non-USCG like Gooru or eagle float you very very little. I like Tad's proposal, just get an Eagle with extra floatation and a front zip and you are good to go. But it will cost you.
  10. Yes, I have used the prolocks and the clinchers. I like the clinchers better. The prolocks fit a little loose and fingers are a bit short, where the clinchers are snug all the way around. But for those with short, fat fingers, the prolocks may be perfect. Even though the fit is not as perfect, they work just as well as the clinchers.ÂÂ
  11. Doane, you are killing me, your an animal. Glad your not in Mens 3. TW, why is your right hand so much bigger than your left? Mmmm.
  12. My goodness, she is hhhhhooooootttttttt
  13. I am officially withdrawing from the internet tournament until further notice.....it has nothing to do with Doane running 38 in February.
  14. Richard, thanks for posting the great video. All your videos rock. I am interested to see how these boots work out. Not sure about the low rear cuff, but I hear that is to allow your rear leg to get up behind your knee easier.ÂÂ
  15. My wife has some used skis if you are interested, all 65" just sitting in our garage. A1 D3 Nomad CR7
  16. Ha, even Ryder looked at you like you were insane. His face was saying "Are you *&^%ing serious?" And you got two other crazies to pull you! Great skiing by the way!
  17. Right on! This sight has came a long way. I love the twitter section so I can follow "everyone" by just jumping on the webpage. Plus, the information and people on this forum are second to none. Best H2Oski info out there!
  18. Congrats Sergeant Friendly, probably the best job in the department. Go too farther up, the less policework you get to do. Sergeant is perfect, actually Detective Sergeant is perfect! Now is the challenge of dealing with employee issues. Hopefully you get a good team. Have fun! Does this mean you are going back to weekend nights?
  19. This is just my opinion but I am sure others are with me. When it comes to buying a ski, I am interested in how the "normal" skier likes it. What is "normal" to me. Well, everyone but pro I guess. Pros can ski well on anything, so why would I care if a pro could run 41 on brand x? When I see a non-pro kick ass on a particular ski, or I see a skier who's scores dramatically improve, I get interested. When I see a lot of class C tournament skiers loving a particular ski, I get interested. No knock on the pros what-so-ever, I enjoy watching them ski because of their technique and style, but I could pretty much care less about what ski they are on. But if Richard Doane, John Horton, Scott Chipman, or whomever starts kicking ass, it gets my attention. I understand sponsorships and all that, but I think ski companies are sometimes missing the boat.
  20. How ironic, I just ordered P90x today. I hear great things about it. I am also thinking about mountain biking this winter. Would love a dirt bike too, but concerned about injuries.
  21. That is too bad, glad to see your wife so active though. Hopefully that will help in her recovery.
  22. Great skiing Richard, you look solid. I like they way to push your hips up thru the wakes, very good position. That ski is working great, should see some MM action next year, eh? Keep the vids coming.
  23. We also ski with our bouys very low, much safer. I hate how AWSA requires them to be so high. That needs to change.
