  1. Just want to say all these bios are great, read them all, very fascinating. So many different stories about how we all got to this point in our lives. My name is Mike Budreau, I'm 38 years old and married to a younger chika named Kim. She kicks ass, just ran her 32 off at a tournament this past weekend, for the 3rd time. I am so lucky that my wife loves to ski, always buggiing me to go ski. So much fun during the summer, going to all the tournaments we can. No kids, yay! I started skiing in 1997 at a public course on a local lake. Became addicted and eventually found a private site 165 miles away in 2001. Skied on the weekends for a while until we finally got a private ski lake in 2007, 3 miles from my house. Life is good. Oh yea, I am a Detective Sergeant. Fun job, but not as fun as waterskiing. Boody is my nick name from work, a shortened version of my last name, not because I have a nice one, but I think I do. Dirt bikes in the off season.
  2. I have had the experience of making several similar repairs to my ski this year. Do just what Eddie Roberts said, it will ski fine. You probably don't want water getting in there, so do it sooner rather than later.Â
  3. I am going to ski thru mid October, then take some time off until late March. I always wonder how much benefit one would get from skiing thru the winter. I was suprised that Horton quit skiing for the year, did I hear that right? Water 74, air 90 in Oregon. Doane and Scholl, did you guys ski all winter? In Washington? Â
  4. We struggled a lot with Stargazer too. Our problem was superfast 1-3, then really slow 3-6. But you can adjust the segments for each speed, and after quite a bit of playing around, we got it dialed in. Just throttle up slowly to the beep and you are good, do not over rev. If you drive ZO for a while, come around the island and floor it, you are screwed. But, its 95 every time now.
  5. Yea, you need some type of speed control. No way to drive a consistent time everytime, plus you have the variable of hitting the timer button I assume. Before speed control I would be thinking about the boat speed instead of skiing.
  6. Yea, that place looks amazing! Blaze is an awesome little guy isnt' he? Never seen a little kids with so much personality. Nice skiing Zippy, anybody kill it today?Â
  7. No offense but the only folks I hear complaining about ZO are on this forum. I ski a ton of tournaments and talk to hundreds of skiers every summer. I also have not seen anyone leave the sport due to ZO but heard plenty about it on here. I can't get behind this "ZO is killing our sport". I just don't see it.
  8. Lots of great skiers to watch this weekend but Nate Smith was the skier who truly made it look easy, similar to Parrish. Even at 39, there was no hard pull which results in a hard edge change and jumping all over front in the turn.  Smith was so light on the line, I couldn't believe it was 39. The ladies were fun to watch as well.
  9. Just about our entire ski group. It's a blast. Well put on event.
  10. Nice quiet style, your upper body remains still, which is good. Your wake crossings look solid. Also, really nice sight. Your legs are too squated, which means there is not enough pressure on the tip of the ski. You need to come up on your front foot in the turn.  If you do this with bent knees, it will make it very hard to hold when the ski "bites", it will just fold you in half. Stand taller, at least in the turn, and preferably all the time. If you look at all the pros and/or great skiers, they have an obvious movement to the front of their ski in the preturn and into the bouy. Your compressed legs are causing too much weight to be put on the back of the ski. When you stand tall and get on the front of the ski, you will feel the ski start to slow down and carve, you can then begin to think about the finish of the turn.Â
  11. Horton, I speak your language. I am officially a Strada fan!
  12. Sixam, yea after going back and reading his first post I would agree that technique is his #1 priority. A new ski would probably not benefit him too much.
  13. If you are at a plateau, try different skis. If a bunch of skiers are having success with a particular ski, it's worth a try. New equipment can really jump start your interest and understanding of skiing. Plus, if you've lost confidence in your ski it's hard to get it back.
  14. Air-83, water- 72. 3 tourny weekends left, Santan in October, so much fun.
  15. Is/will this footage be available to watch if we missed it?
  16. My mind was rattled at a tourny today and I actually thought of this shirt, almost laughed as I pulled out for gates thinking about "the rant".
  17. Get a Strada, lean back. Your good. I am actually serious. I have seen it all summer, this ski rips on the tail.
  18. Chef, I have only skied behind the SN200. I've talked to a few who have skied behind the TSC1, but it is also still in development, sounds like it will be done soon.
  19. The 200 is amazing, especially at shortline. But this boat may give it a run for it's money. I hear the 15 and 22 bump is gone. Wonder how shortline is and drivability. Will be pretty hard to beat the 200 overall.
  20. Just had a police helicopter circle our lake in Sac, coyote lake, and sound the siren. Assume it's Dsmart ( David Smart). It was pretty cool.
  21. If you are in a slump, consider a fin adjustment. Only after careful analysis of what a problem area is. Must read Schnitz's info prior to change. I actually made a large adjustment between rounds at a tournament and it really helped. Fin adjustments can better your understanding of how your ski feels. it's just skiing, you can always put it back. Once you find the "the spot", leave it.
