  1. Just out of curiosity, are you moving there to ski? I'm jealous, I may do the same in 12 years when I retire.
  2. That pic above is me. I was coming into 4 ball at 38 really fast and late. The last thing that went through my head is "I'm late, gotta rip this turn" Didn't happen, kicked the tail out, but its wasn't the skis fault, it was mine. Regarding Ed's comments, I do feel some of the exact things he described. If I get on the front too hard, I may kick the tail out as opposed to coming to a complete stop like other skis (and breaking forward). I also feel the tail starting to let go every now and then when I am pushing it too hard. With that said, this ski rails a turn better than any other ski I've been on, and keeps the speed. It does hold very good in the turns but overdoing will kick the tail, where other skis come to a stop. I am really liking my 65 mid Nano.
  3. (This is Mike) I am now re-evaluating my board shorts. Apparently they ride up a bit, exposing parts of my body that seldom see sun. Dammit Smart! Photosphop.
  4. Dave (Kim Here I have to find my password and log back in here) These pictures are awesome!!! That was such a cool video to watch, in fact I saved a bunch of the pics! I have one saved as my face book pic too:-) Thanks so much!
  5. Yea, she likes it, gonna keep it. Slower than the Goode but she looks more controlled and turns a bit better. I think for her style its gonna work good. She met her tournament average (in a tournament) after just a few days on the ski. Time for a change and this is the ski.
  6. Well she liked it enough to go ahead and ride it for a tournament this weekend. Pretty windy yesterday and no great scores. Nice today, she is walking down to the starting dock to give it a go again. She looks really good on it. Turns nice.
  7. Were all the ventrals small? Ed also like 3 ventrals but I don't recall if he had one big one in there.
  8. Anyone know the cost on these plates?
  9. Dave, a group of us are going to Bel Aqua this weekend. You gonna be around?
  10. OB, yes we on BOS want you to get in their face, ask some questions and figure this stuff out. Get some pics if you have to, forget their privacy. Pretend your with AWSA doing ski inpections, have a clip board and some calipers. Smart, I know you know what I'm talking about.
  11. Dsmart, were others/ Chad Scott running the ventral on the Nano? I haven't put mine on yet.
  12. The only issue I have found with the Nano is the speed, its very fast. I have to remember to dial it down a notch or it gets interesting.
  13. Well, there you go looks like the choice is clear. Lol. Seriously though, I've had several different hard-shells over the years and just about everyone's comments are spot on. Not an easy decision. FM e series should be considered too, very safe and comfy.
  14. I would go with the powershells. - They release in any direction - Many pros/ regular skiers are on them - They have the spring in the heal - If you do release, you stay in them together which means less chance of injury
  15. Great videos, Broho is a beautiful place when the sun is out. You guys didn't let a little rain slow you guys down.
  16. Man, you guys have the frickin life. Those sites are amazing. DSmart, how do you like your Strada, have you tried the Nano?
  17. Man, thos pics are unreal. Cool to be able to ski in those public lakes, I haven't done that in a while. Looks fun. Was it me or were the bouys in that one lake real big? On a related note, was Horton's hair larger than normal? Wow.
  18. Richard, thanks I will take you up on that. We will be at Warman Lake this weekend, are you going to be there? I will gladly pay the freight to give it a try. She is on Goode powershells, but I also have her old FMs, we could put on a ski to try it out. Mad11, I will send you an email, thanks.
  19. Thanks guys, my wife would need a 65, Mad11, I sent you a message.
  20. I am trying to find a ski that fits my wife's style. Her tournament average is 1 or 2 at 35 off. She is a very upright and strong skier and tends to ski farther back on her ski. Her hips are forward and her shoulders back pretty much all the time. She has some difficulty getting on the front of the ski but counters really well. She is skis faster than she should. It seems like the Strada is a ski that works well by staying on the back. I have seen countless skiers run great passes with the water barely breaking forward of their front binding and/or the ski just being very far out of the water the whole time. I have always noticed this about the ski but have never tried it. I was thinking this may work well with my wife's style. Any thoughts
