  1. Shane, how did the ventral improve the turn? I took my ventral off a little over two weeks ago and liked the way it skied a lot, but I couldn't run my hardest pass. I put it back on one week ago and went back to running my hardest pass. It does slow the ski down but I've never had a problem with width, probably because I pull too long. Once I improve my form, I will lose it again and see how it goes.
  2. The turning point for me was when I watched the 2009 Big Dawg which was on webcast TV. In my circle there were very few Goodes. But on the webcast 70% were on a Goode, I couldn't believe it. I picked up a real nice 9900 on ski it again for $900. My bouy count went up 4 bouys, it was so damn fun. I was on cloud nine. As Scot said, they just work. I think Shane is a smart man for saving the money and getting the fire. Dirt needs to pick one up, money back guarantee.
  3. Shane would you mind sharing Chad's numbers? I'm curious. Thanks!
  4. Malibu has the best looking wakeboard boats on the market, but their slalom boats are just, well...boats. Why don't they make an edgier graphic on the side? They make the slalom boat so plain compared to the wakeboard boats. All the manufacturers do, you just can't get a bad ass looking slalom boat.
  5. I am probably gonna screw this up, but the changes were explained to me as the carbon was laid at an angle instead of 90 degrees. This makes the ski more likely to resist rotational torsion, ie an easier edge change. Also as a result the ski has a softer flex.
  6. I was fortunate enough to witness this. It was the loudest I had heard the crowd all week. It was pretty awesome. Glad I got to be there for this.
  7. I've been kicking that around too. But what a out the heal lift? What do you do for your backfoot?
  8. Been looking for some Goode powershells to show up on ski it again forever with no luck. Need a RFF, size medium. Thanks
  9. The rollers are much better. Looking at the shoreline all it takes is a couple inches to go from a 1/10 slope to a 90 degree wall. The drivers are doing a great job of taking time to let it settle too. No wind today either. I wanna ski bad!
  10. OB, yea would have liked to meet you. I'm not gonna fly accros the country and scratch! I gave it my best shot baby.
  11. I have to agree with jdarwin. The conditions were unacceptable. I can ski pretty good in wind but the rollers were similar to a public lake with other boats. Yes, it was an equal playing field but some would catch a roller in a turn that would put them down. Others may get them in the preturn and be ok.
  12. Steve Schroeder 2nd with 3@38. Chad Scott 3rd with 2.5.
  13. Last night's rain brought the lake up over a foot. "rolly" is an understatement, some of the most brutal conditions I've skied in. 3.5 @38 won it. Only a few ran 35. Don't ask how I did. But I'm meeting a few Ballers.
  14. I removed my ventral this week and put the stock fin to 9. It carries much more speed into and out of the ball but still cranks a turn. Ski was biting too much as the water warmed up even with the stock wing at 7. Only been off a few sets, we will see how it does at Nats tomorrow.
  15. Honestly, you should get your binding position dialed in first, which can really open up the sweet spot on the ski. Then fine tune with fin if needed.
  16. Bruce, check your bindings, they may to too far forward for your newer form.
  17. Everytime I got a lesson, I struggled to ski a lot of bouys and often was not impressed with the coaching. However, I had the "ah hah" moment after the fact. Weeks or months later. So take some time to absorb what you learned, it WILL benefit you in the long run, if not immediately.
  18. 44 in a row? That is incredible. I will be there for my first Nationals ever. I'm skiing M3 on Tuesday and my wife Kim is skiing W3 on the same day. I am looking to meeting all of you guys.
  19. Amatures ski two rounds on Friday. You ski against your average. The top 8 make it to the Saturday finals in a head to head format. Tons of fun and money to be won. I've been going since 2006. We've been in the money on a few occassions, mostly from the raffle prizes and one time from skiing. On top of that you get to watch the pros, MM, and pro women. Just a killer time!!
  20. I filled out one of those forms shortly before buying my Goode but no one got back to me. I ended up called Dave Goode himself by dialing thru the company directory on their regular number. He took some time with me to talk about the skis, was very nice.
  21. I was in the boat when Smart got into 39 OTD. Impressive, his off side is money. That A2 looks like a good match for him. Horton also looked great on his Fusion, he skis very clean, nice form.
  22. Yea this one rocked, liked the pic on the front cover a lot.
