  1. Thanks@thager - I have a new cable, rack and pinion gear and tunable rudder. My rudder is loaded perfectly. I have zero play or drift left or right when driving in the course or otherwise. My problem is with the tilt mechanism itself. The problem is directly related to the aluminum housing that holds the steering shaft that the steering wheel is connected to. If you push straight forward on the steering wheel or pull straight back, the wheel moves about a millimeter up and down or in the same direction a tilting the wheel up or tilting the wheel down.
  2. Is there a fix to remove the up and down play in the Nautique tilt steering helm? I drove a Nautique 200 last year that did not have the play, all other Nautiques I have driven from 97 - 2008 have the up down play. While trying to diagnose the problem, I noticed the the steering shaft has a minimal amount of movement within the shaft housing. I am trying to decide whether I should buy a new helm for a 200 or take it to a machine shop and see if there is anything they can do. The boat is a 1997 Ski Nautique.
  3. @DanE - I called PP in April this year and asked for the latest Z Box upgrade and PP mailed it to me, I am not sure when it first came out. The R Version is V8.0.04R. I attached the cover page from the User Information that comes with the upgrade. I am not kidding when I say this version is superior to all previous versions. @GregHind - Does version 8.0.5 include the + setting like V8.0.04R?
  4. I have the Z-box on my 1997 Nautique with EFI GT-40. In the spring I updated the software to the new Revision R. This added the + Plus setting to mimic ZO. Previously it took some time to dial in the system, most notably was an issue where the system would run out of tolerance around 3 ball. With the new software this is no longer and issue. With this latest revision the short setup issue has been eliminated. The beep comes on almost instantaneously. I also noticed the system was more intuitive to the driver when hand driving if you spin at the end of your course. I train behind a 2008 196 with ZO and 200 with ZO. With the new software the pull is very similiar behind all 3 boats. If you are having problems with the new Revision R, I would first make sure your antenna puck view to the sky is not obstructed. Second, I would have the antenna puck checked to make sure is is good. Garmin did have issues with a few batches.
  5. @Horton - Do you feel this ski is different in the idea it is not super sensitive to fin settings? I've tried most of the settings posted during your review and the ski feels pretty good at most of them. Some settings do feel a little better than others, but not drastically different, more like very fine tuning. Now you try experimental settings from Rini and again you are rewarded. I can't wait till next season to try the Rini settings. Thank you for continuing to test the ski. I hope you manage a life time practice PB before the next test. Are you still at 29 15/16 are has that changed too?
  6. Can someone post the link to the post about this 11-1 move for the gates. I learned last weekend from David Miller that the gates are the most important aspect of running 38 and beyond. Prior to last weekend I turned in when I thought I could go through the middle of the gates...not good!
