I have no place coaching, but me and my friends often remind each other to "ski wider". This always remind me to squeeze my elbows into my vest thru both wakes, there are endless discussions about skiing outbound off the second wake. I have my own theories, but the concept of riding my ski outbound off the second wake helps me get wide and early, again, I'm far from a coach, shouldn't even be typing right now.

couple of my friends had Malibu Tantrums, we used to love its simplicity, we used to sit in it and say: "hull, engine, steering wheel, rudder, pylon, couple jumper seats. That's alll we need, lets ski." Was the hull of a Sportster with nohting in it but the essentials.

BOS: a constant reminder of my first ski school experience at a little place in Newberry Springs, Ca. 2004 we needed a place to practice before our first national tournament and deicded on Horton Lakes, pretty sure we were no where near the place til we were right in front of it, then couldn't find anyone til the Dr. got up from his nap. He taught us well, I skied major PB in tournament, best time ever, literally bucket list stuff, needless to say. Have a thousand photos and a hundred video clips, made the 2800 mile trip 3 more times after that. Some dude out there tried to sell me a carbon fin but I didn't like his hair (jealous cuz im bald). For next season's attack of super shortline I am definitely going to use video analysis, the Flip looks like an inexpensive, fast way to do this. Does anyone else use these little cameras, and do they zoom enough to capture skiers at 15 and 22 off?

@horton I've put alot of emphasis on gates, two handed, trying to get up on boat and turn in easy and progressively, -35 is my only inconsistent 1ball, no matter what I do I drift in from my glide before I turn in-kills me. When I get a good 1 at -35 I usually pull too long for 2 (telling me my 1 wasn't as good as I thought, and I'm back to square 1 with gates ha ha). turned 4ball at -35 in a tournament and honestly just forgot to open up and reach cuz I couldn't believe i turned 3 so well. turned 5 in practice at -35 and blew tail out but I believe I was forcing the issue with my front foot, this was my best attempt yet cuz it was out of the box running 22, 28, 32, easily(5 days of rest too). weakness is definitely wake to buoy, at 28 I can be in almost complete control, at 32 I often just reach like hell and hope the ski comes back under me(usually does) strength is well, not sure really, I guess im pretty strong behind the boat, never let go, and at 32 I can get bent in half at the buoy, read the word nomad on the tip of my ski, and still run it, not sure if that is a strength or just dumb. Im pretty scrappy, I can change if Im disciplined, but I usually just go out and have fun. But I also think running -35 would be fun! i tried to get myself to ride a turning edge out to the buoy a few times (thought I was on to something), only way i could do it would be to think about getting off my pulling edge as soon as I felt I was putting maximum load on line, i.e. instead of pulling through both wakes i would try to kind of squirm out of my lean and start turning way earlier than usual. fwiw: 6.830 tips/2.503/.79 needle/8 degrees/RS1 bindings at 29.5 i think/66 in 2009 RCX @6balls that sounds sweet! @skinut I stall on my offside occasionally too, tends to be me most of the time I think. only reason I state that is because mostly my offside on this RCX is sick, sometimes better than my onside. would love to try a fusion.

Been on D3's for years, trying to bag -35 at 34mph for awhile now-i know it's not the ski-but just curious what some of the experts would reccomend. 170lbs.

video is so on my agenda cuz my outboundness is weak, at 28 I can focus on this, but when i go to 32 and 35 all i can really get is a good gate. i was trying a thing a couple months ago where at 32 off i was forcing myself to "get out of my lean" right at the second wake...kept thinking i wasnt gonna make it to the buoy but i would....and way slower. also tried some back arm pressure and that was helpful too.

yes, tail popping out, from your diagnosis that could be me applying to much pressure to front foot, im thinking that im pressuring like that at 28 and 32, maybe as the line gets shorter and im carrying a tad more speed the ski is riding higher and my front foot pressure is too great. thanks for the help.

trying to learn 35, had a common occurance; was turning 5ball and blew ski out, chattered a little and I was down, then same fall occurred at 3ball, RFF 34.2, sorry, been too lazy to set up video camera, I'm sure that would help.

curious about the mechanics or interface; will we still need to put in crew weight and skier weight or will entire system "behave or work" like ZO? I have SG in a 2002 SN, works great. Love it.

that is solid video, i have a cannon dig 8 that works well when hand held, we just want to be able to do some video analysis so super quality wont be neccesary, but if i go on the market for a new cam i will definitely look at that jvc, thank you. nice skiing too.

That's a good idea too, looking close at my box (d3) i believe the recess for the dft set screw is too big, making it impossible to grab fin properly unless I try this tape idea

do you have a photo of your device, currently thinking how I could make one out of pvc maybe.
