  1. Would you happen to mean Tommy's Slalom?
  2. A releasable binding doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Riding it barefoot is just plain stupid.
  3. Actually, I'm told that you can go to the website and hit "contact us" and request some stickers. We have some free kinda chintzy ones and some decent ones that we charge a little for.
  4. I'd normally say to someone other than you Jim, to stay strong and stay tough but that's a foregone conclusion as far as you're concerned. If anybody can take this down, you can. Good luck!
  5. I have a partial tear in the rotator cuff of my right shoulder which has already had surgery for a torn labrum and bicep tendon. Definitely challenged throwing anything but we play ping pong at lunch every day and I feel like the exercise helps to keep the shoulder healthy.
  6. If the ski was covered it would also not get as hot.
  7. If you absolutely have to leave something out in the sun it would probably be better if it wasn't black like the Lithium. The Graphite is lighter in color and the Alloy is even lighter yet and it is basically the same ski minus the adjustable fin and plus the wood stringers in the forebody of the ski. If your ski was at least in a bag on the rack it would be kept cooler than sitting in the direct sun.
  8. The Senate C was carbon fiber with a polyurethane core.
  9. You really shouldn't leave anything you are fond of out in the direct sun! Oh, and you really shouldn't stare at a full eclipse of the sun either.
  10. If you are just going to be holding the screwdriver with your fingertips you'll need to have pretty strong fingers, either that or give each screw another 1/4 turn holding the screwdriver tightly.
  11. The flex and rocker specs for the Probuild and Lithium are very, very close to being the same. The Probuild is about a 1/4 lb. lighter and several hundred dollars worth better. :)
  12. The 65" TRA should work just fine for you. It is basically the same ski as the Lyric and Senate Alloy and I have a friend who weighs 170 and has been skiing the Lyric well into 38 off at 34MPH. I'm betting you'll like it.
  13. 2018 Senates are based on the 16/17 Vapor. No plans for a Probuild Senate, yet.
  14. The Katana is quite narrow under your feet and if you aren't putting enough weight on the front of the ski I can see how it would seem to have a lot of drag. Think about putting more weight on the ball of your front foot and don't push with your legs until you are well under way. Take advantage of the wide tip of the ski on your start. The Butterknife is wider and may have been a better choice for easy starting but it won't have quite as much performance. Let us know if this helps.
  15. Yes, probably a 67 but I have a friend who is 70 and weighs 185 and skis into 32 off at 32 mph and he is on a 69" Senate Graphite. If you think you are not going to go beyond 32 mph you may want to consider a 69" Senate. If you think you are going to possibly go 34 you may want to just get a 67.
  16. I think I would go with either a Butterknife or an older Theory if you can get ahold of a 69". That was a really good ski.
  17. Meant to say 71" Senates are stretched 69s. Also meant to type .820 DFT.
  18. All 70" Senates are stretched 69s. If you are having a tough time turning the 70" Phantom try setting the fin at .820" depth, 2.485" depth and 6.875 length w tips. That could help but you are kind of light for that ski.
  19. Srr5008 just so you know, when we designed the 71" Senate we stretched the 69 so it's actually the same width as the 69.
  20. Hey Ballers! It was right at 2 years ago almost to the day that we announced the debut of our 2016 Vapor and I believe we had a record number of views and an extraordinary amount of excitement for the announced release at the Nationals for the latest brainchild from master ski designer, Chris Rossi. Roscoe has not been kickin' back and relaxing on his laurels since that time. In fact once we had all sizes scaled and the flex and rocker set in stone and production for all sizes under way, the ever fertile mind of the Man was devising ways to make his creation even better. Here we are! It is always with a bit of trepidation that we would discontinue one of the most well received skis to hit the market, but after many, many prototypes and testing sessions with an expanded group of enthusiastic slalomers we have no misgivings whatsoever about this decision. We are very excited to be releasing this new Vapor on August 1st and we'll have 2018 Vapor Probuild models in sizes 65, 66, 67 and 68" for sale and for testing on Lake 4 during Nationals. You don't have to take it just from us, there are several ballers that have had a chance to try out Rossi's latest and maybe you know a few of them or they might even chime in here on Ball of Spray. To say we are excited about our new ski would be a huge understatement! Eddie
  21. "Once you get your outside hand back on the handle, drop your inside shoulder" I still do that.
  22. You shouldn't have tap or smack it down, you should only need to push it down until it clicks. If you can't get it to hold that way it may be stripped. That would be unusual for sure but it's possible. I'd make sure there is no crud/dirt up inside there and if all else fails - call 425 369 6850 and ask for Trevor - our warranty manager.
  23. Just measured 30.25" from the tail of the ski to the bottom line of stitching on the front Vector boot.
