  1. This is getting heavy, but Seems to me nearly everyone takes an L (by what I've read on this thread) For a class R, which the Masters is, the tech wasn't complete. Towers weren't in the right place/cameras weren't in the right place Judges weren't in the right place and they were missing judges (camera review) Judges didn't judge. "I don't know" isn't an option--to be fair they weren't in a place to see buoy six live (?) skier protested correctly, but didn't like the appeal (justifiably considering above⬆️) LOC is overly sensitive/ not willing to admit they made a mistake. Skier expects R rules. Either both parties took a breath and worked toward a solution/ not making this mistake in the future, or they both crossed their arms and didn't budge. Imho, the Masters is an Old School pro event and it shouldn't be an R tournament. The lake can't operate within R rules, and why try? Nobody is setting a world record on Robin Lake. "Back in My Day" ( and @Bruce_Butterfield and @liquid d) many pro tours were class C, or even F, because they were on lakes in business parks, etc, wherever they could get the most eyeballs. Today's pros should either accept that Masters is more about the show, or if they expect perfect class R conditions (and therefore rules) on Robin Lake, opt out. (Although they should expect R rules if it's registered as an R tournament...)
  2. @wski1831 My SafeSport is originally with ski racing and I carry it over to waterskiing , but my experience over the years is it's seasonal.
  3. @UCFskier the point is TWBC was not at the Masters
  4. https://skidim.com is your friend.
  5. @Horton --"Boat talk " is a definite maybe 😉 Not sure how many LXi, SNbb, or '93 MasterCrafts I want to read about (all the Best Boat Ever)
  6. Umm, what level was this tournament? F? C?Sounds like the tower judges were in the wrong place. and the cameras for those judges were in the wrong place (?)
  7. @seveet Make sure you didn't lose or tweak the rubber o-ring top of the clear strainer, also, after the clear strainer is the smaller black metal strainer to the transmission, look up in there.
  8. @lpskier Horton advocates skiing with locked knees (locked back knee anyway 😉
  9. @lpskier that's snowboarding (?)
  10. Never on s tournament lake. I attach mine in rough open water, and when I’m teaching young kids to drive I keep a hold on it.
  11. That!⬆️ I know of old pros on double hardshells that have rotated both feet out (toward pinkie). Your center of balance is from the center of your heel to between your big toe and 2nd toe. That's the way rollerblades and speed skates are generally set up as well. Basically, what @ColeGiacopuzzi said 👍
  12. I’m going to reconsider switching my grip, I didn't realize how critical it really is.
  13. One of my favorite drivers of all time drove with 2 hands. 4-4:30 & 7:30- 8 o'clock. I've tried it and it was pretty nice, but I prefer one hand @ 8:30-ish, depending on the boat.
  14. Supras, Brendellas, and MBs were pretty nice boats.
  15. @Menzelskier trying to compare the skier's paths through the course. At the gate they have to be dead even. That's the whole point, it seems like a 39 skier is going further, but how far up on the boat they are has "nothing" to do with it. The 15 off boat is 23 feet ahead, not the skier.
  16. Can you do that while you drive, MB? ⤵️
  17. @Gloersen uh, you're right. I’m not thinking straight I have a bad fever
  18. My recollection of coordinates (Schnitz gave Nelson's theory that name), is Dave was basically telling shortline skiers they were working too hard. That we (I guess I was one back then) just needed to lighten up and go ball-to-ball ("the key is you have to backside the buoy"-Schnitz). I suppose, mathematically, that might work. But in reality it's impossible. I don't think a robot could do it. Shortline skiers are athletic humans, not math theories, we (well, not me anymore) use our tools to their optimum. Just thinking out loud here. If you consider what we all agree on with the 1/2 buoy rule at short lines (if the skier has the handle, it is pretty much impossible to stay outside the buoy line for any amount of time), my guess is the shortline skier travels a shorter distance. If you could plot two drone shots, I bet it's not a huge difference. guys, you cannot increase average speed. The boat goes 36, you are attached to it, and you start and stop at the same place
  19. Talking about Coordinates is Real Pain
