  1. @Keith_Menard Jeopardy: Answer "The most overrated burger place in America." Question: "What is In n Out Burger?"
  2. This has to be one of the most interesting podcasts that Mateo, or anybody else for that matter, has done.
  3. We have totally ditched our combo skis and put new skiers directly on an HO Hovercraft. The Hovercraft is that easy to get up on. Seriously.

    25 41s!!!

@scuppers With all the previous threads about Nate, if you're not familiar with it, I'm not going to go back into it. I would really like to understand what he does, why he is so dominant, and why don't the other pros pick up on what he is doing and replicate it.
  5. I was just watching the video of the last Miami tournament. After Nate won it with a score of 1 @ 43, Wade was interviewing him and Nate said that he has ran, this year alone, 25 41s. That is just insane! What is he doing that is so different from everyone else that allows him to run it with ease! Nobody can even come close to that! Most of the dozen or so people who have ran 41 in a tournament, have only done it once or twice in their lives! As much as I dislike the guy, how can you say he isn't the goat?!
  6. @BraceMaker True, you cannot put an HO direct connect binding on a different brand unless you mount it to a plate first. But if you don't ski on a different brand, its not an issue.
  7. @jjackkrash @skierjp So the idea is to have the boat resting more on the roller and less on the front bunks?
  8. If you have an HO and are not using the Syndicate hardshell, I don't see why you wouldn't go direct connect. I have a hardshell on my front but a direct connect on my rear. I've been using it for about five years. I love the setup and it works great. On my other HO skis for my family I am totally direct connect. It is easy to mount and set up your bindings, looks nice and clean, no loss of the flex of the ski, just a nice and clean setup.
  9. @skierjp How is it adjustable?
  10. @jjackkrash Would it be possible for you to take a close-up picture of your roller on your trailer? I'm not really picturing it. And I would like to see what the roller looks like and mounts to.
  11. First, let me just say that I have a very low opinion of Nate Smith. Not someone that I would want my daughter to date or even be around. I've met him at our boat show a couple of times and he has an air of arrogance about him, unlike someone like Will Asher who just comes across as a humble and nice person. Having said that, I don't see how anyone can say that he isn't the GOAT. I have read all the above arguments and reasons and I don't agree with them at all. To me it sounds like way more people like Andy so they just don't want to give the title of GOAT to Nate even though he skis better than any other person ever has. He has run more 41s than all other competitors combined. I just don't agree with any of your arguments. I can't stand Nate. But he is the GOAT.
  12. Do any of you who use it have a tower on your boat? Do the rear tower legs get in the way? And what do you do with your mirror?
  13. Best wetsuit I have ever used. Warm, light, and comfortable. I have both the shirt and the full-body. I skipped the shorty. If its cold enough for a shorty, I just use the full-body. Like was mentioned, they do run small.
  14. @UWSkier I like that idea! That would solve the problem! I like the idea of stretching the course rather then narrowing it. That way the skier gets used to getting wide right from the start.
  15. I'm talking about my Syndicate hardshell boot!! I almost never take the hardshell of my boot out of the binding. I just pull the liner out. And then slide my foot in with the liner on. About the only time my boot isn't in the binding is if I take a hard fall and the binding releases my boot. But other then that, it stays in the binding. But reading a previous thread someone said how they never leave the hardshell in the binding so its not under constant tension. I never even thought of that. Does that matter? Should I take the boot out of the binding when it is not being used?
  16. @Andre The zipper, on the shirt, only goes about a third of the way up. So not much zipper for water to drip through. I have not noticed it.
  17. The above comment has raised a question for me. If it automatically shuts off at 22 mph, does that mean you cannot use below that speed? Because I pull my little girls at 19 mph through the course.
  18. This thread has me thinking. I have the Syndicate hardshell. I almost never take my boot out of the binding - just my liner. The boot stays in the binding all the time. Is that bad? Does it matter?
  19. I absolutely love my Syndicate HO top. As warm and comfortable as my Camaro but way more durable.
  20. I think the base Omni would be a great ski for you. Same shape, design, features with the difference being in the construction (carbon vs fiberglass). The downside is you don't have as much upside. As you progress and get into faster speeds or shorter lines, then the Carbon Omni would be better. But for now, I think you'll love the base Omni. And another upside, in a couple of years you can get a new ski! That's always fun!
  21. Since I started wearing clincher-style gloves, I've never had this issue.
  22. I have the Syndicate Omni and ski it regularly in all conditions. I find it to be a great ski regardless of chop or smooth. I think it is the most versatile ski out there. Easy on the body to ski. Super easy to get up on. Effortless turns. Fast. Incredible ski.
  23. Start with HO's recommended settings. They are not just guessing on those. A lot of time and testing went into coming up with what they recommend.
  24. @ErikBerghiller Again, if I have a tower on my boat, will the tower legs be in the way for the paintballs? Will the paintballs hit the tower legs?
