  1. You will love the Omni. Designed to have much less drag then other skis. You'll ski longer sets with less work on your body. They are also fast because of the low drag and easy to get width at the ball. The Carbon Omni is just what it says, it has a sheet of carbon making it light and more responsive. The correct answer is it depends on your boat speed. But really, the Carbon Omni has such a bigger upside to it. Go with it.
  2. I would really like to hear how Joel came up with that setup in the first place. What made him try a snowski boot?
  3. What is the purpose of the flappers? My Moomba has flappers that attach to the outside of the exhaust rather than the inside. So if I was to do something like this I would have to take my flappers off. What would happen then?
  4. I learned dragging a foot and did it that way for years until I went with a double boot. This summer I skied on a sky that had a rear toe loop so I thought I would just drag a leg. NO WAY! I was all over the place!
  5. @sheskis7 I just saw this. I'll let Kelly know immediately!
  6. Thank you everyone for your help and input. Thank you @DavidN for the link. And @mmosley899 , I will tell Kelly that you can make one if she wants to do that.
  7. The VTR is, if I remember right, a 2016 ski. It was a great ski. I actually skied on it for a season. Its might be more ski than she needs but she would probably really like it. It was HO's top tournament ski that year. Its not the Omni, but its a great ski. It will have more drag than the Omni because of who it was designed for. But if she skis at 32-33, she should be just fine on it. Is it new or used?
  8. Radar is a great ski. But I swear by the Omni. I feel it has features that other skis just don't have. As for the length, its a matter of weight and speed. So it depends on what your wife weighs. But unless she is really on the heavy side, or the very light side, probably a 65".
  9. I would strongly recommend the HO Omni or the Carbon Omni. I think it is the most amazing and versatile skis available. Because of its design with the rear clean-edge, it has so less drag than the other skis on the market. This makes it fast and effortless to get outbound width. But it also makes it so much easier on the body and less tiring to ski. In a nutshell, if she free skis, she skis longer. It also makes it a breeze to get up on. But man, can it perform. You want to crank turns, it will turn! At 32-33 mph and the way you described her, she sounds like an aggressive skier. So I would probably recommend the Carbon Omni.
  10. A good friend of mine, Kelly Chipman, cracked the rear plate of her 2014 HO Apex boot. I've tried to convince her to just get a new direct connect Freemax rear boot. But she loves her boots. The problem is this is a unique plate that is open in the bottom. So just getting a new HO rear plate doesn't work. Does anyone have a rear 2014 rear HO plate that they wouldn't mind getting rid of?
  11. 190 - slower speeds - I'd go with the 69".
  12. You'd be doing yourself a disfavor if you don't get yourself an HO Omni. Wider forebody and clean-edge tail makes it stable, super low drag, fun to ski on. And boy, can you rip turns on it when you want to. I think the regular Omni or possibly the Carbon Omni would be perfect for you.
  13. But its not available for us android users. Only on the i-phone.
  14. I'll add one other aspect to the glove discussion. I am a big supporter and user of the clincher style glove. I love how it helps with grip since it transfers the pull to your wrist. And I never have to worry about blisters. I have tried all of them and I think the best ones out there are the Radar. I used to use Masterlines but it took 20 minutes to hook up all the velcro.
  15. @Wish, there really isn't anything else for them to promote. Wakeboarders and surfers want just the opposite of what this boat offers - a big wake!
  16. I would get the HO boot (Freemax of Skymax) because of the direct connect. No plate that attaches to the ski with a bunch of screws. Just 2 screws and that's it. No effect on the flex of the ski at all. And a piece of cake to adjust and mount. Plus, they are really comfortable.
  17. I really like the HO rope and handle (the black rope). Great quality and lasts as long as my Intow. At literally half the cost of Masterline and Intow, its hard to beat.
  18. I think Matt is the best instructor out there. I was suppose to come out in April but COVID ruined that for me.
  19. I second the Omni. A 69" would be the size for you. The Omni would be perfect for what you are doing. Fast, super low drag, gets width easy, turns amazing, easy to get up on - a real game-changer in my opinion.
  20. HO's Syndicate Pro Handle would probably prevent this in the future.
  21. Hey everyone, I want to pass this on to all of you. This is good info that you might want to know that I received from Scot Chipman. He is a meteorologist (weatherman). He saw my previous post about WindAlert and Windy so he sent me a text explaining how WindAlert works and why it is possibly the most accurate app out there. I though what he told me might be helpful to you guys. Scot's text to me said "The quicklook plus forecast on WindAlert is the best forecast for the next 15 hours out. It uses the HRRR 3km hi resolution rapid refresh model that updates every hour. Most all other sources use something like NAM 12km model that updates 4 times a day and is not as high in resolution. With WindAlert you can select which model from many to look at. With other sources/apps you have no idea even what model data you are getting data from." I don't understand some of that but it sounds good!
  22. WindAlert is what I use. But I'm gonna check out Windy.
  23. I would think the Carbon Omni will be even less work on your knees because it will have quite a bit less drag and will be easier on the body than the basic Omni.
