  1. @ToddA Have you skied the Syndicate Omni so you could compare the Omega to it?
  2. @david_ski Why do you have ball valves on both hoses (one going to the heater and one coming back)? Don't you just need to have one on the hose running to the heater? Just shut off the water going to the heater. Isn't that all you need?
  3. No. No brackish water in any of the lakes around here. Even Willard Bay, which is a reservoir diked off from the Great Salt Lake, is free of salt water and is used for irrigation and drinking water. Brackish water is one thing you don't have to worry about here in Utah. Now the toxic algae blooms in Utah Lake tends to scare some people off. But that is when I head to the lake because we know we will have it all to ourselves! :)
  4. I own a 2007 Moomba LS. I love my boat. Is it a tournament level boat - no. But I have skied it into 35 off. The wake is extremely skiable! The reason I went with the LS over a pure tournament boat is because we go to Lake Powell and Lake Mead a few times a year. You go there in a tournament boat and get in the open channel - could get pretty scary. I don't surf but my friend has a 2008 LS and with a fat sac, they surf an it regularly. But we do hydrofoil (Air Chair) behind it on a regular basis. That is our number two activity next to slalom. We have a rack for our foil on the tower. We love our boat!
  5. I was on the HO Pro. Tried the Omni. Sold my Pro and kept the Omni.
  6. True, those are two different skis. The Omega would be a better comparison. But for you I would say the Syndicate Omni would be the better choice. Matter of fact, I would say it would be the perfect ski for you and the type of skiing you do. Its the ski I ski on. I do both course and open water skiing. It is a high-level course ski that I have personally gotten into 35 off on. And for open water skiing it just can't be beat. Because of the design of the ski there is so much less drag on the ski that my open water sets go twice as long as they did on my previous HO Pro. It just doesn't wear you out. It is effortless to ski on. I think it would be the perfect ski for you.
  7. The Freeride would be a big improvement over a combo ski. And you are 100% right that it is less drag. It literally pops you out water. I have one that I ski on when I'm not chasing buoys and I just want to screw around and have fun, or if there is a buttload of people in the boat. Its is a fun ski. Another one that you might want to consider since you are pulling her at 26-28 is the EVO. It has all the same features that the Freeride has that creates less drag (clean edge, speed skin, etc) but designed to be able to ski at a bit higher speed. It is a softer and thinner ski which will makes for smooth turns. I have never skied one but I would think it will also allow for a bit more aggressive skiing then the Freeride. And its not that much more money.
  8. I've had the same experience with HO. The people there are so great to work with and they really stand behind their stuff!
  9. The HO Omni is my recommendation. Just stick with the regular Omni, not the Carbon. It would be a perfect ski for you. With the clean edge technology of HO and HO's unique bottom there is so much less drag on the Omni compared to other skis which is perfect for free skiing because you will be able to ski a lot longer without tiring.
  10. FUN FUN ski to ski on!
  11. I am 59 years old and have been skiing at 32 mph last year and this year. I was on an HO VTX and then the HO Pro. I loved both of those skis. I mean, hey, I should be on the best that HO has! Right:?! Then I tried the Syndicate Omni. BOOM! I found my ski!! I sold the Pro and I haven't looked back. I absolutely love the Omni. It is effortless to ski and get up on. I can ski more passes and more sets because I don't have to work as hard. It is fast and carries outbound direction effortlessly. I can't say enough about this ski.
  12. The Omni, either the Syndicate or Carbon. I think it is a real game changer.

    Moomba outback

    Congratulations! I love my Moomba.
  14. How does this compare with the Denali boys fin?
  15. So is it worth the money? @Horton, was there a significant difference in the feel between the two fins?
  16. Holy shit! I didn't look at the picture. Is that you?!?
  17. First of all, at your weight and boat speed - 28 mph - definitely go with a 69". If you go shorter you will have a ton of drag. You won't be able to get much width. Everything is just going to be work for you if you get a 67". As for an Omni vs a Senate, I cannot speak from personal experience about the Senate - I'm sure its a good ski. But I ski on an Omni and I think it is a true gamechanger. I actually went from the Syndicate Pro to the Sydicate Omni. I think it is the best ski I have ever skied on. First of all, it truly is easier to get up on. Due to its design (clean edge technology and speed skin - both unique to HO) it is effortless to ski on. Where before I was beat after 6 passes, with this ski I'm ready to do double that. Its fast and turns with very little effort. Because of how little drag the ski has it is effortless to gain width at the buoy. I really can't say enough about this ski.
  18. Last year I started using the HO Syndicate handle and I am really loving it. Great handle for a great price. I use the 1.062 diameter.
  19. There's been a lot of talk on here about the new Nautique and how it looks and what not. I have no idea how it skis but I was able to see one for the first time this past weekend at the Utah Boat Show. I just stood there and stared at the thing. I think it is the best looking, coolest, bitchenest boat I have ever seen! I mean....WOW! I loved it! Would I ever be able to buy one? It is so far out of my income level that I couldn't afford to even sit in it. But it is sure awesome looking!
  20. My boat that I've had since 08 is an 07 Moomba LS. It is a direct drive but it is bigger than the Outback. So the Outback would be an even better ski boat. Yes, I give up a bit on the wake but it is very skiable and I have skied it into 32 off. I'm sure you could ski an even shorter line but I'm not that good. I love it as a family boat! I doubt I'll ever get a different boat.
  21. For me it is HO hands down. The customer service simply cannot be beat by anyone. From skis, to ropes to anything they make, they stand behind it 100%. And if I were you I would take a close look at the Omni.
  22. @Ed_Johnson That is the domain name that is for sale.
