  1. @ozski‌ I would never loose the chance to ski a body of water so close to my house, salt water is not a big issue. I have to drive at least 100km to ski. On the other hand the worst critter is a viper which is very rare and it is not that venomous and you would probably never see a shark in your lifetime despite the fact I live in a sea country. I would however trade all these for the proximity to the water, have fun ski that salty waters!
  2. @Horton‌ I want to stay married too, so all we need to do is to convince the wives that BOS is all about skiing and harmless and then start the other "new BOS site"!
  3. @Stathis Ventouris‌ yesterday at 19:30 was dark but warmer that Sunday morning. I could barely see the buoys!
  4. Please tell my wife that BOS is not "BlondegirlsOnSkis.com"
  5. I'm 5.93 and 170, but I'm at my lightest at the moment, which feels great and I ski my best! I wish you had included "I'm a beautiful man and my weight is perfect and none of your business"! I would have vote for that
  6. I currently use Masterline handle and rope but when I'll find the chance to have somebody at the States I will ask to bring me an In Tow combo, I really like to have extra training loops between 32 and 35 and 38!
  7. How about, No money No wife No job No problem! Ski BOS sleep!
  8. I think "try to convince your wife it's not porn" is the best!
  9. "Skiing, the art of running passes"
  10. I have never thought that the reason we choose the left side is because we measure heads forward, it was just natural to me.
  11. Reading these two discussions of fin modification a thought came to my mind. What if we put the wing with a degree difference on each side would it make a change to the turning characteristics? Instead of 9.5, use 9 on the left side and 10 on the right side, I'm LFF slowing side on the way to 2-4-6. I'm sure people have experimented with this before. @gator1‌ I really like your idea, I will modify one of my fins and try it myself.
  12. Every time I measure both sides I get slightly different numbers so I have chosen to always measure the same side, (left side). To me as a right handed it comes naturally to measure the left side and that is the side most people measure in videos.
  13. I use scotch brite with soap with light moves from tip to tail to clear the spray dust, lightly and only on new or resprayed ski bottoms, leaving the ski unscratched.
  14. You can cover scratches sand them and spray the bottom with Black SEM Clasic Coat (or any other Clasic Coat colour you like). If there are no scratches you can use clear coat. Wash it with soap and scotchbrite sponge and you'll have a really nice newish bottom ski!
  15. Whatever you do, do not polish the bottom. If you feel that you need to do something, use dish soap and scotchbrite lightly and from tip to tail, be careful not to overdo it and change the bevels. Good luck, Alex
  16. @MrJones‌ I refurbished my friend's silvrettas so I keep all the parts that can be used again, I know what the problem with your release is, I have seen it many times. I can send you the part you want treated for rust and no wear where the holes are, but you definitely need to change the spring too. Take the screw out without breaking it because you need to keep the special nut in a reusable condition (I do not have a spare) otherwise you would need to buy new release. If you save the bolt text me to send you the part you want you would still need to buy new spring from reflex. It will only cost you €14 for the spring instead of $150 for the whole thing! Use WD40 for a few days before attempting to unscrew the bolt, Good luck! Alex,
  17. @Stathis Ventouris‌ I can borrow you my "new" Reflex ski from the 70's while you wait for the XTM to arrive!
  18. Picture of my car and ski with my BOS stickers on!
  19. @DavidP‌ @ktm300‌ great help, thank you very much, I can now measure the ski and put it at stock if needed and start from there!
  20. My fellow skier's son rides a 62" A1 Future and we can not find the stock settings. We need to figure out if fin is close to stock or needs to set it up and start from there. Please help, any suggestion is wellcome!
  21. @rodecon‌ if you have the ski since 2011 and you have never touch the fin chances are that the screws are stacked. Do your fin adjustments at a place where you have the Means to fix a broken bolt, not at the lake prior to skiing cause it might ruin your day.
  22. Few years ago some friends where meshing with another friend's fin, they put it backwards without touching the wing, the guy was skiing -15 at lower speeds, he run the course as usual and find out only when they show him the video of the whole prank!
  23. I carry my ski in my car, I live in Greece it's very hot in the summer but I do not usually leave it in the car for very long. Some times when I going skiing in the afternoon after work I leave it for about 6 hours in the car but it is always covered in a ski cover and away from any direct exposure to the sun. Even when walking down to the dock I carry my ski in a ski cover and take it out only minutes before skiing. Direct exposure is what kills the ski not heat in general.
