  1. Win or lose this was fine company to be keeping at Cottonwood! Â http://lh4.ggpht.com/_fGDLCPUBceM/TKXiIKFutwI/AAAAAAAAABE/S6GMxE-5CCA/s144/Bailey%20Cottonwoon%202010%20-Ward%20%26%20Horton%282%29.JPG
  2. Should be interesting. The little Austin family member ran 2@35 today with a score of 86. Horton and Dawg (among many others BOS faithful) were there to witness. She asked if she would get one of those a giant checks from BOS if she won for photos on the ride home from Shreveport. No matter who wins that would be cool.
  3. Guys,  This ski is really good. I was thinking about riding it at Cottonwood next weekend, but just made the mistake of letting my neighbor test it. I may not be able to get it back. Not kidding! He wouldn't take his boots off it. Right up the line on it. T$$ knocked it out on this thing.Â
  4.  34 mph . I did have to add some shims on the sides of the fin to keep from crushing the warp fin box. It is made for the thicker fin which makes playing around with new stuff a pain. I wanted to go thinner because the ski has a ton of drag already and was looking for any way I could to find some speed. One thing about the Warp is it always takes a lot of intensity to work well. The ski scores, but is a ton a work to ride and frankly makes practice for me miserable. The good thing is when your all amped up in a tournament it will take all you can give it. Exactly the opposite of most rides. Marc A
  5. Call Jeff Danos- They have done this several times and everyone had a blast from what I understand.
  6. No offense , but the outfit is not quite worthy of the ski. Maybe visit www.foxhead.com and pick up a new set of boardies. Vest wouldn't hurt either. Call Eagle. Sick looking ride though. (are shameless sponsor plugs ok on this site?)
  7. Bad Ass Ride. High performance with T$ attitude. 39's going down on one daily in central TX.
  8. They used 6.0 boats at the Big Dawg in Windsor. Felt softer then my Malibu at least at that altitude.
  9.  Think the Radar fin is .088. It seems to be the most popular for the Warp. I know of at least 4 others running the same fin and similiar numbers. Your DFT seems way far forward. My length number is tips just so you know.
  10. As promised here is the DFT measurment from the Warp using the EZFT DFT- .9425Â EZFT DFT- .7735 Slot Caliper Radar fin - 6.776 long, 2.482 deep, Radar wing 7 degreesÂ
  11. We both should be entered. I entered myself several weeks ago and Bailey yesterday. Couldn't let Darwin try to win the family prize without a fight. Plus hoping this gives my girl some motivation to ski the next few weeks. This school thing kills the skiing man.
  12. I now have a EZFT, but have not checked my Warp with it yet. With a slot caliper my DFT is .773 I am out of the country until the end of the week, but will use the EZFT to check it when I get back and post the number. It is a waste of time on the Warp to try and get it accurately without one of these two tools for sure.
  13. Agreed, I was sand bagging, which is why it is fun to give you crap. Come ski with us this weekend and let's get you going. Your favorite bed and breakfast is still open. Know all about being out for injury. Feelin for ya. On the bright side, winning the July BOS EZFT challenge has boosted my skiing career and confidence. I almost signed at least 2 autographs at the BD this weekend while proudly wearing my BOS shirt. Also met a few jealous haters who coveted the prize.  Never with my average so low have I received so much attention. BOS is definitely becoming powerful. The Krista will be swamped with even more attention after winning for Aug. She should be sure to take a sharpie with her to the next event for autograph opportunities.
  14. Horton, You should make D Wolters pay twice just for that pathetic sand bagging story. Plagued my ass. Good thing I like that guy.
  15. This event has all the makings to become legendary. I heard Bink had Mike taken out just to get in. Glad to hear he is going to be ok. Shane, bring him with you injured or not so he can at least be a part of this thing. No sense sitting home. It's customary to make injured guys sit in a friggen tower all day in our region. Believe me, I know this to be fact. Darwin, you need to post the complete entry list. This thing is bigger than the BD finals. Why you keepin us in the dark?
  16. Skimech, She is not 95lbs now, but was in Jan when we put her on the ski. Trent and Eddie picked a soft 65 for her. Now she is 11, about 107 and is 5'4". Grew about 6" in a year. Have only seen 35 a few times in practice, but way down 32 everyday. Skis works great and is super forgiving. Numbers- 6.84, .745, 2.495 9 wing, boot 28 1/4 from tail and a rear kicker. Main reason she skis good is because Trent taught her, not me. He is always patient and thinking big picture. It's about the foundation, not quick gains. She skis with him daily in the spring before he starts traveling. That's also why she wanted a Strada. Had to have the same ski as her boy T$$. Spending time with Drew and Jodi has been good too. Also, we are really lucky here because the G2 group in our region is awesome. I think 6 or 7 of the current top 10 ski together and are friends. That has been a big motivator for all of them. Great kids and families! Just put a 13 year old G3 skier on a 65 Strada this weekend. She was 115lbs and came off a 64" 9700. Her dad said she was way faster through the turn and making much better angle. She said she worked a lot less also and felt more stable. She was on the 9700 for 2 seasons and instantly liked the Strada. We have put about 5 other G2 and 3 girls on the same ski with all positive results. If you think it's too big they now have a 63.5", which wasn't an option last spring. Anything else just ask. Marc
  17. That's a wide range of abilities traveling together. If your interested in learning something and trying to evolve your skiing go see Drew. He can help the entire group for sure. Plus plenty of vacation options local.
  18. I will be in. A chance at a Cottonwood towel plus the normal prize makes it really worth it. No way I'm missing that. Also need a CW shirt so I can dress like Dawg and JD. Received my EZFT in the mail the other day for winning last month. Appreciated that. Not sure why I got a tax form for the winnings though. Who is running this thing Correct Craft?
  19. My neighbor has a 62" Goode 9800 in perfect shape with the powerplate and possibly Goode/Wiley's for $700. Tough to beat that even with Goode's recession buster sale going on since it has the plate and bindings.  We have a soft 65" Strada that was built for my duagther special at 95lbs. She has run that into 35 off. Ski rips. Going to move her to the standard flex now that nationals is over and she has grown a bit. That ski should be available in a week or so. Also the new 63.5 Strada is awesome if you want to go new. Bill at Perfski would dial you in quick.
  20. Carbon fin numbers were 2.51 depth length 6.831 with jaws .689 dft (had to file the back edge of fin to get it that far back, but couldn't get the tip down with that fin forward and ski was super slow.) Boots 28 7/16 front 16 1/2 to 16 3/4 back Most guys skiing the warp get rid of the carbon fin that comes with it. Ski would never keep moving through the turn for me with it especially when the water got hot. Find a Radar fin and wing and set it up. You may have to shim the sides of the fin to make it fit in the fin box. The carbon fin is so much thicker the radar fin won't tighten up unless you crush the fin box itself. Put some shim material in on both sides. I used some old feeler gauges and drilled them so they are held in by the clamp bolts. All sounds crazy for a big money ski, but this set up makes it work. Haven't seen anyone stay with the carbon fin.
  21. lkb, Warp is a different game than most. What fin are you running? I had a totally different set of numbers for the carbon fin that comes with it than what I run now. Also it is really tough to get a dft without a slot caliper or a EZ fin tool. Initial thoughts are your running too long, too shallow. I would fix those first than play with dft. I'm running a Radar fin and wing now at 6.776 tips, 2.482 depth and .7735 dft with a slot caliper. Sounds crazy, but most guys running short with that ski in this range that I know. Marc
  22. Alright, got in at the last minute. Not bringing any fancy colored ski. Just Black and Blue.Â
  23. Good catch Leon. Mine was 99.5 and was raised also. Should be over +5 right now. If I'm gonna cheat, I want full credit for my devious actions.
  24. Dude, Wrong answer. Leon should be proud, but not in the lead!
  25. Vicious stuff Shane telling Horton I'm cheating. Its hard work and the skidawg counseling sessions paying off. He told me if I just kept paying him a $100 per hour for advice I could win a T-shirt. Guy may turn out to be a prophet.
