  1. This year. Africa! I gotta go back again tomorrow for 2 weeks.
  2. OB, Try slowing down instead of the half loop. See how that works. I like that better than setting up a different line length I will never see in an event. Two schools of thought and both easy to try. Also, maybe run some fast times at 28, 32 and 35. Makes them more fun and easier on your body.
  3. I remember this article and thought it made a lot of sense at the time. I think 38 does seem like the point where you carry more speed, but sure that is up for debate. One of the biggest things I notice is that the visual ques really start to change at 38. The buoy moves more towards the center of your arc, but the tendency is to feel late and rush because at 35 you can still backside it easy. The shorter the line gets the more this occurs. That doesn't mean you can't backside it some, but when you don't, the panic of feeling late occurs and next you load early.
  4. Joe, Thanks for great time. Below are links to Trent's 39 and 41 passes on Sunday. Need to put some music over my talking. By the way that's a stock production Vice he is riding.
  5. Scoke, What do you mean by ski core?
  6. To me the hydrogen fuel cell option seems to make a ton more sense, but I'm far from an expert. They tested the Honda Clarity on Top Gear and it seems to perform well. I think they said its only for sale in CA right now. Sure getting hydrogen at the lake will be a big issue also, but no recharging time. Maybe Horton should try to test drive one when he gets back home.
  7. Masterline is working on a nice solution that comes already mounted to the handle and can be moved to another I think. My daughter has been skiing with a prototype for about 2 months. Seems like a better solution than any that I have seen other than a few home solutions. She never even noticed it. They may sell you a handle now with it.
  8. Boody, Don't see any message. You can e-mail me marcaustin11@gmail.com.
  9. Got a new 2011 65" Strada for sale at a great price. Skier tried both sizes and went with a 66". Can have Horton sign this weekend at Cottonwood so it's just like MS's ski if you like. Anyone interested?
  10. John, Nice job. Also, Congrats to Jimmy Siemers! All of us at Aquaplex are proud of you as always. Way to go boy. Need to come home more often. Got a celebration cigar for Big Jim when I see him this week. Marc
  11. Dawg, Make sure your skiing good next weekend. T$ is coming with and says he wants to get your autograph. He openly claims your his hero during our practice sets.
  12. I'm in. The insults did it. I will also donate the vest to a kid in a 3rd world country if I win. If Dawg wins I will carry his to the 3rd world country for him and give it to the kid since I'm going to one every week these days. Actually going to those countries is why I probably don't have a chance to win. Not skiing very much. Still think you suck for not letting in last years champion. Talk about chicken.
  13. I do this with no problem. I use the black adhesive. Make sure you clean the ski with alcohol several times before putting it on.
  14. Hit my e-mail marcaustin11@gmail.com and we can chat about funds.
  15. I really like the X7. It is super stable and forgiving. The one I have is just too short for me. If anyone is interested I have 1 67" X7 without inserts since I run velcro I will sell at a great price. It also could have the inserts installed. I just had Paul not drill it when he sent it to me. Marc
  16. webdawg, Best to replace if you can get the old one out, but you can drill it the next size up on some inserts and tap it.
  17. Horton, Agree totally. Their only issue is exactly what you said. You have to add to the factory numbers to get it consistent. It is usually between .016 and .020 depending on the tail of the ski. For example my Vice/Strada numbers are .757 ski standing on the tip, pressing calipers with both thumbs and pulling down with my index finger. That is right within the factory recommendation. I can repeat this same number at least three times in a row. This is also how Trent measures and we will get within .001 of each other every time. With the slot the fin measurement is .775. Same on the X7 I tested. Standard way I liked the ski the measurement was .737 and with slot .757. On the Warp it is the only set of calipers you have a chance to make work. The tail is rounded so much it's impossible to be consistent without them. Marc
  18. skimech, What was she riding before?
  19. Take Jones method and only add one thing. Wet the rope before you stretch it. I hook one end to my suburban hitch and the other to my tractor. I just let the rolling weight of the tractor stretch it going a little down slope. I don't put it in gear and pull hard. In TX have to use your tractor for anything you can think of. Sometimes we use the ATV too.
  20. Do you see in this video how Andy Mapple skis? Look at it, understand that he is the only guy in the world that skis this style and that you will never be capable of doing it so don't try! Schnitzer 1997
  21. I get the long line kids, but one with an average into 35off? Sure were not just intimidated old men at this point? Your explaining this, not me man. Bet ya Dawg would NOT support this move.
  22. The new rules eliminated the current Intergalactic Champ! She doesn't have a credit card of her own. Hey Horton you better tell her, I'm not gonna. Also, she does read the site, but her father doesn't let her post on the net. Doesn't want her to grow up or communicate with guys like Shane and the others yet. No Offense!
  23. I know, just never seen a picture of it before.
  24. I'm embarrassed. The garage is a pretty dirty in that pic. Crazy wind for the last 4 days. No test worth discussing.
