  1. Thought this was a cool shot of when I was skiing there a in Dec. Friend just sent it to me. http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv313/marcaustin11/MarcAntonsZebra.jpg
  2. MS, Heading home tonight. The Warp was not up for the trip this time and after 4 practice sets had to jump on the X7 for the tournament. Had never skied on it in anything close to warm water. Was high 80s here. First round not so good and ski did not turn on my on-side. Also was feeling pretty sick from something in the water for sure. Moved the fin forward between rounds. 2nd Rd hit 2 ball at 38. Ski still not coming around on my on-side, but better. Moved the fin further forward. Got a good start at 38, was much better at 2 this time, but still slower than I like. Going in the right direction and got 4. Ski feels unbelievable stable. It is not slow at all compared to my expectation. It feels like it will just keep skiing and try to stay with you even when you make a mistake. If the on-side keeps getting better think we may have a real winner here. Heading back to cold water now and just running back to backs. Guess we will know more in May. I'm going to keep riding it now. Especially since Jeff put a Silver Spray Sports sticker on the thing before I went out. Those look expensive so hate I to waste one. No complaints about this trip at all. Have never skied a tournament in January so scores didn't seem to matter much to me. The people here treated us fantastic and we would definitely come back. Awesome site!
  3. MS Seems like a really good ski. Haven't had enough time to focus on it. Heading to Peru now with the X7 and the Warp in the bag. Most exciting thing so far is we saw and chatted with Willy A. in the Houston airport. (I'm counting on that being some form of good luck or a positive sign) and the plane has the new lay down seats in 1st class. Starting off right. I may not even ski now so I don't mess up the trip. I'll send back updates. Marc
  4. Duck hunted in the morning and skied in the afternoon Sat and Sun. That's a darn good weekend. Water was 10 degrees colder than right after Christmas, but no complaining! Wish there were some greenheads in the bag. Been too warm for many good ducks to show up here yet. http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv313/marcaustin11/AbbeyNicholsHouse01-01-11.jpghttp://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv313/marcaustin11/Jan1st2011.jpgÂ
  5. Careful Jim, Make sure your hardshells doesn't pre-release. That hurts! Sorry, couldn't help myself. By the way everyone, don't forget the Ballers Bash in Sept.
  6. Only thing missing in that story was some kind of involvement from a midget. Throw one in and I always laugh more. We will have one at the Ballers Bash just to shadow Horton all weekend.
  7. 85F or so. Water is in the mid 70's. No complaints. Don't worry, it will rain this spring.
  8. Shane, Â Come on and tell the rest of the guys where you really met this crazy chick. Cut her some slack. From what I understand even with the sleeping issue she is still an Olympic athlete.
  9. Andy, I ask and let you know what I find. I'm heading home on Tuesday. Been a good, but long trip. Most likely back here again early Feb. Got to ski at Anton's again this weekend and the place rips. If you contact the guy that runs this site he seems to know what is going on down here. Don't remember his name. www.waterskisa.co.za  Marc
  10. I got to grab a few sets over the weekend during my trip to Cape Town at a site called Lac Du Soleil. It's a new site owned by Anton Viljoen. Couldn't ask for a better host and I really appreciated the hospitality so much that I'm hopefully skiing there again this coming weekend. The place is unbelievably beautiful and skis as well as any in the states.(water reminded me of Cottonwood except Joe doesn't have any Kudu hanging around) No complaining either about being 10,000 miles from home and getting to ski behind the exact same boat that I have, an 09 Malibu. Many may know Anton from West Palm or know of his daughter Gabriel, who came in 2nd last year at the Jr. Masters and I think she has also won at Moomba. Great people and I feel lucky to get to spend some time with them here. I met them last year at Jodi's place and who would have known I'd be coming here often for work. Meeting people like this is what makes our sport great. Hopefully when they are in the states this fall, Texas will be on their list of travels. (I did tell them to enter the Cottonwood record ASAP as it can't be missed, and possibly the Ballers Bash) Check out the photos. Those big guys met me at the gate(the pic is dark, I had some stupid filter set on my Iphone). Also check out the website below. Sites for sale soon I believe. www.lacdusoleil.co.za Marc  http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv313/marcaustin11/Iphone077.jpg http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv313/marcaustin11/Iphone074.jpg
  11. Just boarded heading back to South Africa. May be the Vice's debut on the African continent. Found a place to shread on the weekends. See how it skis in the Southern hemisphere. Wish I had a BOS Eagle vest to show.
  12. Horton,  As an Eagle skier rep I sell at least 5 to 1 of the pull over vs the front zip. Maybe even more.
  13. Man that thing looks fun. I still have most if the parts to put together a 706" pro mod motor. Wonder how much we could break up with that in one of those boats. Looks like as much fun as the old Jersey skiff we had growing up on the Cheasapeake
  14. Wasn't as rough as OB makes it sound. Never saw any white caps. Wind was heavy on the body though. The Vice skis well in good and bad conditions so far. Still dialing it in, but solid.
  15. You may not want to sell if you win it! Mine is skiing pretty good.
  16. All of the above are required plus you must ski. Must have multiple outfits for each round. Scotch, absolutely. Drink enough and we may give you the top seed no matter how you score. My only concern is Shane keeps asking for an all mens thong slalom. I told him this is the Ball of Spray Ballers Bash tournament but that their not actually supposed to get sprayed or bashed
  17. Usually wind really good that time of year
  18. Requested dates for the lake either Sept 3-4 or Sept 10-11 for the Ballers Bash. If all goes well, warm up the BOS jet and aim it towards Austin. Three round slalom Sat and a handicapped head to head on Sunday designed in the spirit of the EZFT challenge. Fun for all. Top 16 skiers in the head to head will be seeded from their 3 qualifying rounds vs. their USA waterski average. This is for all BOS loyals and lurkers. Additional events will be added for Sunday. We will make them up as we go.
  19. Stop this thread you guys. It's gettng me all misty about how special all you BOS brothers are. Need to confirm and finalize the Ballers Bash so we can all be special together. Can't wait!
  20. Peru is sure warmer than Texas in Jan. Just take plenty of ibuprofen for the trip. I'm figuring you really don't get sore until the 2nd or 3rd day after you ski for the first time each year. If I don't ski all winter until Sat qualifying in Peru, I wouldn't hurt really bad until the flight home on Monday. Make sense?
  21. The pics are at Aquaplex in Austin. Darwin was here for four days during collegiate nationals while I was out of the country. Wind was 15 to 20 head tail. The boat knocks it down a bunch after about 3 passes. My daughter was testing a new camera and having fun. Don't usually have a photographer for practice sets.
  22. The Vice looking way better than the rider after a layoff and some serious business travel. Good to be home. Thanks to Darwin for helping hold down the fort some while I was away. He even left some of my beer. Been off for two weeks eating way too much. Ski is solid. Ran a full set of about eight 35 back to backs today easy and light in some pretty good wind. Forgiving. Get your orders in. (wish I could ski without making stupid faces, but not much to work with there anyway)  http://lh6.ggpht.com/_fGDLCPUBceM/TMR69SnwlhI/AAAAAAAAACQ/jwQMfC65VIw/s400/Marc-Vise2.JPGhttp://lh6.ggpht.com/_fGDLCPUBceM/TMR8hZwkPWI/AAAAAAAAACY/bdaD3-C72EQ/s400/Marc-Vise3.JPG
  23. Official boat sponsor or overall sponsor? That's a big switch if they are overall sponsor.
  24. A slight oversight I believe. I was going to sort that out when Horton and I both got back in the country.
