  1. Where can I find Bruce B's article?  and JH are youcoming to London on your Europe excursion?  If so you'd be welcome at Princes Club for a spot of cold water skiing.Â
  2. Some help would be really apreciated. I ride a 67" Strada. Stock settings. The ski works great in Orlando, but here in London the water is about 50F and its just not the same. Feels like it rides higher in the water and I struggle to get angle, both sides, ie I ski more bouy to bouy. Its more likely to be my style, but if anyone has some ideas, please post. This weekend I'm gonna try moving the front boot forward one hole,(coach suggested it), but what about the fin?Â
  3. Typo - I'm 47 not 49. Its late at night and I'm trying to catch up with Ryder Cup news.
  4. David Kaye - London, England, Real Estate Developer / Trader. 49yrs, skinut,Princes Club member, PB 2@13meters (32off I think?) skiid at 6, then a little age 16, and went mad for it age 38. son of 18, daughter of 13 - both skiers, but not the wife. how hard I try - she wont. Oh well. that means I get to go to Orlando regularly without her. (is that good? - I'm not sure). 67" Radar Strada - theyre getting really popular here.  We ski when its cold!
  5. I was at Swiss in Clermont a few weeks ago,I saw Ty Openlander is on one. He looked good on it> The quality looks really good, similar to the Fisher.
  6. Yeah i agree> A really bad week at work and I have'nt been able to get my calming fix of BoS!  Hope all is good now.Â
  7. I use a nikon D90. fantastic stills, but the HD video is less than average. you have to focus manually, which may be the case with other DSLR's. for video from the boat, I've just bought a flip. $100 ish and soo easy. A bit shaky, but just the job. I also have a larger JVC - better quality but I hate carrying the heavy thing. Flip fits in your bag or pocket and I really reccomend it.
  8. Horton, thanks for that description, I can feel it! it makes me want to go back to a one hended gate. As a leftie, I think two hands works better for me.  I've been coached by Aaron Larkin, so my pull out is short like a one handed gate, but I dont let go. My key is to stay facing downcourse with my chest and wait for ages for the ski to keep turning under the line before I load it. Also I'm told as a leftie I dont have to get super wide on the pull out. Regards from sunny UK.
  9. I just bought the new Radar Vector boots. Try them instead of Animals. I decided to keep my hardshell front (Reflex), but the Vector back boot is like wearing comfy sneakers. Just dont overtighten the bungee cord. I used to use animals, I liked them but vector is better.
  10. I use a reflex front and have used both a KD comp (highwrap -D3), and a wiley. For me, the Wiley wins, I have released from it out the front several times - no problems. I have not gone out the front using the KD, I think I ski a little tentativeley with this because I'm not confident of a release. The KD is more comfortable, but for me too stiff, in that whilst I can lift my heel 1/4 inch, the wrap over my instep is locked on. I personally like the little bit of movement that the wiley allows, but I've seen alot of the Reflex / animal or D3 combo. If you go that route, try skiing with the back lace undone, or as some do, go for a size up.ÂÂ
  11. Hi Hogexpress. I think everyone is different and you def need to try before you buy. I currently ski an Elite 67 (175 lbs). I ski at 34 and get into 32 off. For me the D3 was really stable (the RCX), but lacked the "cast out" to the bouy that I like. The Radar RS1 was scary. Twitchy and too fast (maybe too good for me). So i've gone with the Elite. It's ok and I think I can work with it. Still getting used to it. I only heard about the senate c after I bought the Elite. Have since seen a few guys ride them and they look really stable with the tip keeping down. I just saw officers video on it , looks good;- and would def try it. But like I said, "Each to their own". Let us know what you go for.
  12. Thanks for the detailed review. I've been on the Elite for two months. Scores in practice about the same as my last ski,(yellow fisher), ie I run 28 off half the time @34. however, in tournaments, it aint happenin! At 22 0ff (16 meters to me), I pull a wheelie at 4 or 5 all with loads of tip rise. Never done that in the past. It can happen onside or offside.  Also if I close off on 2 or 4, & dont stay open, (my offside LFF), the ski just stops. I'm on a 67". 175 lbs. Boots 29.5 in, L 6838, D2519, DFT 790, wing 7. Can anyone help or is this ski just too advanced for me. Also my fin box is corroding really badly!
