  1. Also looks like CP has gone from a rear wiley to a toe loop. Any more photos?
  2. Hi jmh. Why dont you use a little less dual lock and stick with the powershells? They seem like a good system to me and the only harshell where you can lift your rear heel. I understand the worry, I have not had a fall in mine yet to test the release, but it should work. A lot of skiers use them.
  3. I only have Reflex experience and it would be great with an RTP. you can adjust it easily and it fits great. Highly reccomended. Reflex do a rear half boot. I'm double boot so I went to Goode powershells in December - its taking time to get used to them.

  5. Thanks for posting Laz. I saw me ski when I watched your video (different hairstyle). Horton can you explain "stacked" please? much appreciated. [London weather 26 deg F - no ice].
  6. Thanks guys. I ski'd yesterday. Rear boot top buckle loosened, heel lift springs adjusted for more lift. It felt great. Just shows this forum works!
  7. I've Been on powershells for about 12 sets. I can't seem to get my hips up, particularly on my offside cut. (LFF). I've used a reflex front and radar vector rear boot for ages which I like but following a foot injury I wanted some support for my rear foot. My gate shot is scary, feels like I'm coming out the front? Anyone got ideas how to adjust the boots or do I go back to Refelx and vector.
  8. just got goode powershell 5's. Love em!! ski'd about 10 sets so far. have been on reflex front and a Radar vector rear, also recommended, but the PS's are so comfortable.
  9. BoS lets me know I'm not the only one who thinks about the minutia of this sport. I love it. I had my last ski at Swiss a month ago and am now in Snow ski mode;- its alright but not the same. In this off season, I wonder why I'm obsessed with standing on a ski behind a boat for less than 20 seconds a time and chasing bouys. It does'nt make sense. Its not popular like golf or tennis, and none of my non skier friends get what I do. Right now niether do I. Thanks to Bos for keeping my addiction live during these cold winter months.
  10. Hi TylerR. I have a 67 Strada 2010 silver. I'm thinking of going to Goode so I could sell you this one. I'll be in Orlando 1st week of December so I could post it then? Posting from London is too expensive. You can email me at davidkaye7@gmail.com
  11. I tried the mid ride a few weeks ago, normally ski a strada. I did'nt like the mid at all. It bit hard at the ball - both sides, and cross course speed wasnt great. I think set up is critical on a mid - but its not for me. I know some people love it - its really personal, so try before you buy. I'd like to try a nano traditional shape. My two pence!

  13. Quarter speed is fantastic. You can see TW move those feet through the edge change and the way he gets the ski way under the line before loading after the ball. More please JH. (skiid today at cold Princes club London 60 deg and nursing a foot injury!!)
  14. I'm cuurently enjoying my 2010 Strada, (Silver). Is the yellow / grey ski any different or just graphics. I know the ad says different carbon layup, but anyone experienced it? By the way, tried the Nano mid last week and hated it. It bit really hard on both side turns and was not that quick cross course. So should I try the nasty coloured yellow Strada? As my Italian ski friend says "1st rule, you must look good".
  15. Thanks John for keeping this great site going, from Sunny London. I'm a regular lurker - sometimes a contributer, but an addicted slalom skier. I've thrown a few pounds in the Jar. Water and air temp here yesterday both 60 deg F (16*C). Who thinks thats too cold to ski??
  16. Dougger. Consider a reflex front & your choice of rear. Either toe plate, (or in my case), Radar Vector Boot. For me, this combo has always released when needed. If you dont want too stiff, ie hardshell, go with double vectors, comfy, performance and Safe, imho. I tried Strada, it felt a bit sloppy, and when I pulled the laces just a little tighter, it felt like it would not release. That said, theres no perfect set up, so you choose and good luck.
  17. I think a 1 handed gate is MB at one end of the scale, TW at the other, and everything in between. I've have been changing between 1 & 2 handed for a couple of years, (I'm LFF). Right now I'm 2 handed but theres lots to think about, particularly when to pull out, headwind / tailwind etc. Although I have not tried it, how about pull out like a 1 hander, ie really late, but dont let go - just turn in,
  18. just to clarify, anyone gone from Hardshells to Stradas with any success / benefits?
  19. Currently skiing on a reflex front with rear Radar Vector boot. Strada ski 67". I feel like trying double strada boots, but before I spend my money, has anyone done that and got benefits? Will double Strada boots be a little more forgiving or no different?
  20. 47 and for the first, I'm feelin it. By mid summer when I'm skiing good I'll feel 35 again.
  21. I've been changing between 1 and 2 handed gates for over a year. I love the speed and the fact you "just go" with 1 handed, but as a leftie, I think 2 handed gives me a better angle through the wakes. However I cannot get consitent with speed and often find myself coasting through the gates with 2 handed. Then I get frustrated and revert to one hand for a few more sets. I am going to continue with 2 handed in the hope it will feel more natural in time. One thing I dont know, where should the handle be during the glide?
  22. Yes, but I use a front hardshell (Reflex) and a Vector rear. Super comfortable. It's a bit like an animal, but comfortable like your old sneakers. I bought a front Vector for my son & he likes it. My preference over the strada. Just do not overtighten those bungee cords or they will not release. Double Vectors would be my choice if I did not use a hardshell.
  23. I read this post with interest.  rq0013 -I started a thread the other day - water - temparature, saying I love my Strada in Orlando, but am very inconsistent with it in London. Majority of people said move the fin forward in cold water, ie increase the dft. Have you tried this?  - what numbers you running now in say 50F water? Many also suggested moving the front boot forward one hole - I had no success with this and gone back to stock.   Waist breaking for me on offside finish means one thing;- I am not letting the ski finish and grabbing the handle too quickly.
  24. Thanks to everyone for their contributions to my listing question. I've tried moving the front boot forward one hole. It didnt work. This week I'm gonna increse dft. If that doesnt work, I'm gonna buy a Razor cos I loved the fisher. Anyone skiing on a Razor? What do you think of it?
