  1. I had the same problem. Likely the grip tape has perished. It's like sticky back sand paper. Get some and apply it. I also put two extra nuts / bolts and screwed one in the toe area and the other into the heel lift area. My rear boot has not moved at all since. I've been on PS5's for 3 years now. Am gonna demo a pair of Radar Vapor Boots this weekend. I hope it might be an easy transition but if not I'll stick with the PS's. I know not to over tighten the upper laces, and I'm trying them to see whether they are easier to ski in. Ie will they be more forgiving?
  2. Its those baggy shorts causing you the offside cut trouble, acting like a parachute.. Try the old budgie smugglers next time out and you'll feel the difference. Not to mention some admiring glances from the driver!
  3. Nice people, great service, my favourite place to ski.
  4. Oops! Error in my last post. I meant to say, 4 strips of 250 on ski and 4 strips of 250 on the plate.
  5. I'm the same height/ weight as you. 4 strips of 250. 2 on ski and 2 on plate. Refer to Scott Chipmans guide for clear vs black. I've tried every type of glue remover mentioned here. The easiest and by far the best is silicone remover gel in a tube. Don't use 400. Replace after 6-8 removals or annually whichever comes first.
  6. I did that in September. Didn't ski till Feb. The key for me was getting into physiotherapy a day later on the advice of my doc - that's what saved me. Good luck @Horton - get better quickly. I'm having a few weeks off now, because my skiing is useless and I'm not enjoying it!
  7. The Red! The Red! What about the Red one? Limited (ish) Edition Vapor.
  8. @Jim Neely 22 off, 28 off and half way down 32. Thanks for your help - much appreciated.
  9. @Jim Neely I'm on a Vapor 67". numbers are 6.870 2475, 0.760 9deg. Which one to adjust please?
  10. Ok I cant resist. @Horton What is MOASS?
  11. I'm having similar issues. @Jim Neely reduce tip by how much to what number?
  12. My understanding is these skis are exactly the same, except for the color. My Mrs bought me the limited edition Vapor for Xmas, red and blue. I see they are still selling them at Performance. Granted, they did not say how many it was limited to! FYI the green skiis better to me or is that in my head?
  13. Well done Freddie, I'm delighted for you mate. It did look like Nate went through the gates at 41 half heartedly. I guess he thought he might as well have a crack knowing he did not really need to, but just might get a course record. That said, Freddie's 39 was the most exiting pass I've ever seen. I reckon his arms are 2 feet longer now.
  14. @Sue_P Can Goode not supply them to you? Also, I use Powershells, and the rear boot catches, midway, when lifting over that spring. I've always thought those springs should be curved or at an angle, inwards towards the heel.
  15. you can use an intuition liner in a reflex, its more padded.
  16. That ski looks really cool, with the big CF weave. But I am really interested to se how JH makes the transition to the new boots from his customary Vapor's. For me, it can take up to 10 sets to feel comfortable with a new binding. Being used to Dble Hards, anything else feels sloppy and loose on my feet. The R syle is kind of a hard shell, but no support on the rear ankle. So whilst you might have the best ski ever made in the New Zen, you just wont know it because of the new boots. (Also did Horton's dog bite the end off that ski??)
  17. You cant beat the old Powershells. I use em and they are super comfy and you can lift your heel. And you can pivot them anyway you want. What's not to like? As for safety, any setup can get you.
  18. Just to spice this up a little. I have always used the correct hand position but onmy deep water starts, the line is on the incorrect side! Ie I'm LFF, and the rope is on the left of the ski! I had never noticed till some smart Alec pointed it out. Tried switching but can't get up - ha ha!
  19. I've seen Freddie Winter in London, after not skiing for two weeks, jump in, in winter, in a drysuit and run 10.75 (39) off the dock, first set.!!! And he's a really nice bloke.
  20. Hi @spartanskier10 those Radar Vector boots posted by @Wish are excellent and that is a find - brand new at $120 . I really recommend those boots.
  21. Go Senate. You can always buy a Vapor in a few years. Its just gonna be more enjoyable and not toss you off when you're out of shape. I'm not saying the vapor is difficult, its not, but I think youll ski more passes on the senate.
  22. I recommend Powershells. The rear boot has a spring allowing some heel lift. And they are warm and comfy. Also you can pivot the boots if you wish. I had a rear foot injury 4 years ago and powershells were the answer. Nice and snug.
  23. @PAskier Sounds like you have a bad lot. I use 250 to 250 on a Vapor with Powershells. I find the clear easier to remove so I use that. If the tape is staying stuck to the ski and stuck to the plate, it must be a bad lot. The raised inserts should not be an issue. I so not recommend 250 with 400. Are you sure you are "pressing" the tape together all over? After a release, I put the ski on a flat surface and stand on it all over. Maybe try switching to clear or black. Post again and let us know how you get on. Lots of us use dual lock so your findings will help.
  24. @oldjeep _ yes, The Intuition liners felt perfect from new. Not the case with Reflex liners, they definitely needed shaping.
