  1. I went to Goode Powershells last November. It took me a few months to get used to them, but now I love em. I haven't had a big OTF, so have not released. I think they have made me keep my hips up.
  2. Princes Club London has been my second home for the last eight years. I feel emotional about the place. Maybe one day it will re-open as a ski club. Development restrictions mean you cant build on it. This sport needs TV coverage- simple. If we had that, there would be a load more people coming in to this sport. So come on anyone who works in media, do one thing to try and get it on TV. It used to be on Grandstand when I was a kid, so non skier friends my age have seen it and know something about it. Youngsters - nothing. Without TV, we cannot grow this sport we love.
  3. I have an Oniel Assault, wetsuit pants ans a baggy top. They stopped making them, but still available on line in random places. I bought an Oniel physco 5/3 wetsuit. Fantastic. You stay dry and don't need a dry suit.
  4. Golf - I love it off a 14 H'cap. would be lower if I played more. Come on Ballers -own up. I know some of you are secret golfers too!
  5. Get a Flip HD. I love it, goes anywhere, quality is fantastic, and not such a wide angle lens as a go pro. I have a waterproof housing too. Get a cable and plug it straight into an HD tv.
  6. @RLW How are you getting on with your Powershells. Have you had a fall and released? And have you figured out what/ how much dual lock? I now use 4 strips of clear 250, but it doesn't feel like it will release? Clear however sticks better to the ski than black.
  7. I believe British Waterski Assoc has lobbied the Olympic committee over the years to include waterskiing. The US I suspect has done the same and I honestly believe its something spectators would enjoy> We don't need football (soccer), the real stars wont play in it. We don't need golf (due in Rio) or tennis in the Olympics. Maybe someday we will see it. My non skiing friends would like to see it in the Olympics and it would transform our sport. Having said all that I'm really proud to be British right now and London is buzzing with Olympic Fever. I'm going on Thursday to see the mens decathlon, 4 x 100m relay and Pole vault; can't wait!
  8. I'm in the PS's but I'm scared. I can feel the tension on my rear achellies. But I have a rear foot injury and it hurts to bend my rear foot too much so a soft rear boot is out. What else can I use that is safe? FM's? Does that release? I've tried Radar Vectors but too soft. Would a Strada boot support my rear foot so not to bend forward?
  9. @double7s. How did the powershells fail you? Would you try them again?
  10. I use black 250, two strips the length of the plate as Goode suggests. Been on PS's since November and not had them release. Someone on this site posted a chart based on weight a while ago. Try and find it, it's a good reference.
  11. @sunvalleylaw I have learnt one thing, If your rear boot is rotated, it will help your onside. The more you rotate the better the onside is. Conversely, if it is straight, this will help your offside. Most skiers agree that its usually the offside that needs more help; - so go straight. For me however, dead straight makes my onside a little too difficult. Hope that makes sense.
  12. Yes. Firstly my discussion should have read "To rotate or not to rotate". To have my rear boot dead straight gives me a great offside but my onside is poor. I have found 0.5cm rotation of the rear to be a good balance and I'm sticking to that. I sneaked a look at a former pro skiers boots and his were the same. Front boot is dead straight.
  13. I'm in double Powershells. If the rear is dead straight, my offside is great, but onside is poor. I am LFF. Seems like just a little cant is the way to go, but Fish says no. Any opinions?
  14. Just finished a week of coaching with Thomas Degasperi in Orlando. What a coach, The Best! He keeps it really simple, but picks up on the main things that need adjusting and makes it easy to adjust. If you can get to Orlando, I really recommend a booking. And he's a really nice guy! A great experience. Chech him out on Facebook, TGas, or send him a Facebook message. I've had a lot of coaching, but TGas makes it easy.
  15. I went to Goode Powershells in December 2011. I tried stradas, didnt like em; too loose. It's taken me more like 20 - 30 sets to get used to them. Even now I sometimes get on the back foot and mess up a pass. But, my rear foot injury does not bother me in the PS's. So I've had to get to like em. Give it 20 sets. If you're still not sure - dump em. Without the injury I'd go Reflex front and Wiley or other rubber rear.

  17. I'm using Goode "standard" amount. I weigh 170. 4 strips of 250 on plate and 4 strips on ski. Only been in the Powershells six months and am at least a pass down on last season. I dont know if they will release so mentally I'm skiing cautiously. I dont know whether to perciviere or try and find something else. very frustrating.
  18. Goode powershells have a cut on the plate to slot in a tape measure. I measure from that but it's 1/4 inch behind the end of the boot. Go figure.
  19. Get a bent handle. That alone has cured the problem for four skiers at my club including me. Give it at least four sets.
  20. @danbirch I use powershells (since December). They came with 2strips of 250 on each side. I weigh 170. Goode say that is the standard amount, but some people need a bit more / less, depending on weight and style etc. what do you think?
  21. Wife wanted to go to Cancun in May (from London), but after reading all the above stuff I didnt want to. She doesnt ski much. So reluctantly she agreed to Orlando, What a result! No doubt this will cost me dearly at Mall of Millennia.
  22. Hi AB. Goode still use that spring mechanism, seems to work ok.
  23. Reflex and rear Wiley is fine. I've never had a problem with that set up. Also consider radar vector rear for more comfort. Both release when needed.
  24. Hey Horton, that comment above was superb. I read it twice. Clear and concise and on the money. IMO change of bindings is more important than the ski, and will be harder to adjust to. After reading the above, maybe I should stick with the Powershells in the knowledge that if I get popped up, its cos I'm in a bad position, ie bent arms, hips not up. (still nervous about the release though).
  25. I'm having similar trouble on Goode Powershells. If I'm in good shape turning in (my offside lff) then they feel great. but if I dont finish the turn on 2,4, I get popped forward off the second wake. Really scary. I've been on them since December following a rear foot injury. I get a little heel lift but no ankle bend. The boots stop the foot pain, but I'm struggling to get used to them and I dont yet know if they will release. So I dont know hether to perseviere or go back to the reflex / vector rear set up. I tried the Stradas - cant ski in them - I'm used to a hardshell.
