  1. I have a 200 O/B with 60 HRS on it available now. Transferable warranties, Single Axle Ram-Lin trailer well maintained and very clean.
  2. Reading the posts and participation in this discussion myself I came to this conclusion. Can you get an accurate gas usage comparison? For example if you run a Malibu one round and then a 200 the second round there are many other questions to be considered. 1) Are the conditions the same? 2) Are the skiers taking the same amount of passes as previous round. 3 ) Does one driver sit at the end of the course longer the another driver or just idling at the dock waiting for a skier. It may not be much but it adds up. 4) Are the conditions the same as the previous round? Or if you want to get very techy was the same crew in the boat? Overall crew weight has a big affect on gas usage. What I am getting at is I doubt you will never get an apple to apple comparison.
  3. jdarwin to be fair the LXI has a 42 gallon tank and the 200 a 29 or 30. So the LXI would pull more skiers to do a bigger tank. I doubt you will find any 6 LTRs out there and they turn about 300- 400 less which will consume less gas but the increase in the cost is about 5K which buys alot of gas. Other then that good luck with future events.
  4. MS I have pulled over 1and 1/2 rounds of slalom on one tank of gas. the 200 does turn more RPM's but compared to the 196 the fuel consumption is about the same. Not a noticeable difference. As far as pulling 30 skiers and then having to refuel I would bet that the boat did not come full. Come on guys quite bashing the boat. CC always does there homework before putting out a new product. They always have and they always wil.
  5. H2odawg79 I think you are going a bit over the top. I too grew up with the same equipment as you describe. I started skiing in '75 when I was 5 yrs old. I am not looking for a new special division. All of the new technologies with building skis CAD, lighter stronger materials and boats getting the same attention and better materials with gloves and so forth make the sport better no argument there. But you still need strength everything you mention about protein, caffeine, tape band-aids and so-forth does enhance your performance but in a different way. It does not give you leverage and the power vest provides a leverage factor that may be unmatched. That is all I am getting at.
  6. I have read all of the reply' s. Somebody make the comment about fin being non adjustable and rubber bindings vs. hardshell. Skiing is much like nascar. In nascar all the cars are somewhat alike. They all have a certain tolerance they have to a bib by. Yet the driver can tunes his car to his liking much like a skier tuning a fin or using hardshell over rubber bindings. In the end the best driver wins in Nascar and in skiing the the best performance wins well should win. In my opinion the PV falls into a performance enhancing category. I provides a mechanical advantage behind the boat. If people want to use the PV in practice that is the skiers choice. But in any tournament C or higher the power vest should not be allowed unless it has its own division. Maybe USA Water Ski should look at the power vest as a safety issue if people are getting hurt because of a vest design.
  7. On the 196 the factory does put a fixed plate on the area where the true hydro gate would be for orders who do not include the option of the hydro gate. This plate is so-post to act as a non adjustable hydro gate . Now is the plate is in the same place the as the motion hydro gate that is something that only the factory would know. It may of been mounted a bit higher on the hull by mistake making the wake not as nice as the other 196's you have skied behind. The 6 LTR which is the 409 HP motor will add a bit of weight to the boat but not enough to affect the wake. Scarlet Arrow is correct about the prop size.
