  1. ShaneH, If MC follows CC you are right. I do know MC is with in 2-3K depending on how it is deck out.
  2. My understanding is that they want to build hype. Why did CC introduce the 200 at nationals???? The economy was just as bad or worse. IMO they want to generate sales and a buzz. Depending on the price the 12 197 may be more attractive and to the average person the upgrade may not be worth the price. Remember this is all speculation.
  3. I have heard August time frame. Just in time for MC promo guys to sell there 12. Did CC go through this 2 yrs ago??????
  4. USA needs to open there eyes to safety personal who work in the medical field and people who have first aid certificates that are back by american heart or other state or local. I am a firefighter/EMT here in Florida , Ex paramedic and have work in the EMS/ fire for 20 years. I have to attend a clinic this year or I will be bumped down. I do not have a problem having a clinic and going over basic items such as what to do prior to a tournament lighting issues and how to handle them. But when I have to take a skills test from a a USA water ski trainer who has no formal training in first aid IE American heart backed certificate I have a big problem with that. Yet with my back round I cannot give a clinic to show how to properly C-spine an injured skier or treat a hurt shoulder. There are laws out there that will protect you but if you go over and above your knowledge the law goes out the window. What I am getting at is USA needs to use common sense and help the sport out rather then beat the sport down.
  5. I guess some people don't know what sarcasm is. Every time a new boat come out they think it is the best ever and nobody can touch it. That is with every company. So I take what a pro skier's opinion who ever they are with a grain of salt. As for Mateo's knuckle headed comment Yes i have had many nautique because i have been on there program for many years and have not had a reason to get off of it so I have a good knowledge of the boat and it's history.
  6. Mateo before you start getting personal I would stop right there.
  7. amen OB!!!!! I have had Nautiques for many many years and the finish and workmanship has always been top notch
  8. RampDodd spoken like a a true MC team member. No bias there.
  9. Having a bare bones boat may be great if you are not going to resale the boat (non promo) and just use it on a private lake . Being on a promo team I have seen that when you resale the boat the majority of people are not tournament skiers. So a bare bones boat will not work for me and most likely 90% of all promo people. If you look at how the dealers order the boats pretty much loaded that should tell you how well a price point boat will work. Most of my resale the people want it loaded. all the bell and whistles. The Centurion Carbon Pro is exactly what everyone describes and no one is buying it says it all. The Carbon Pro is 40-41K. I don't think that is much of a price point for most people. 2 other issues that may be holding them back is that it is only available in a closed bow and it is listed as a 3 person boat.
  10. There is a reason that the 200 is on 20 feet and not 20' 6". Some lakes now restrict the length of boats to 20 feet. By going past the restricted length may hurt sales in these areas. Malibu also has a 20' wake board boat possibly just for that reason is my guess I can't speak for Malibu.
  11. I am with Brent. The magazine is great for pictures but as far as true product break down pro and cons you will never get the full story or truth because the manufacturer advertise with Water Ski. The boat buyers guide is a great example. I stopped my subscription it is not worth the money any more. If I want to be lied to I will stay at work. At least I am getting paid for it.
  12. I don't know any promo person who makes 15K on a boat. If they say they do I would like to see the proof.
  13. I have been on CC promo team for over 25 yrs and I have seen just about everything. 90% of all promo boats are clean and just as good as new. When buying a promo boat the person are getting a boat that has been dialed in and tournament proven. It is a turn key and go for most people who buy and the dealer cannot do that. The days of making money on the boat are over. Most people are lucky just to break even. The people who don't sell there boats are asking too much money, don't want to deal, have high hrs 200 to 300 hrs or just plain don't take care of the boat. To the average recreational boater who puts 25 hrs a year on the boat a 100 hrs may seem alot but in reality it is nothing. The motor is really only getting broken in. Spread the word about the promo boats because If promo boats don't get turned over the team members will not keep bring them to tournaments if the keep incurring loses plus price increases. Just my .02
  14. Try Global Marine. I switched from ski safe and got a much better deal.
  15. I would be on MC like white on rice If it is not right have them redo it. Bad service travels fast now a days.
  16. From what I have been told there are 2 ways to do this. First the the whole floor may have to come up depending on where the soft spot is and how big it is. Second they may just drill a hole and inject glue to take care of the problem. As fare as carpet I am not sure how MC are built as far as the floor but I would guess you may get new carpet. If not make sure that the patch job or where the new and old carpets come together make sure that the do a good seam. Good luck
  17. I have heard of this happening to other boats and what I have been told is that the foam that is under the floor has come unglued and that is causing the soft spot. I would call Master Craft directly and talkwith them
  18. So....... How much are the stickers and where or who do we get them from?????
  19. You should not need any weight in the bow. I put 50lbs on the passenger side to level it out. If you put weight in the bow you might have a tracking issue. I do not know anybody who has put weight up front. It does not need it.
  20. 6 balls, I am glad to see that I am not the only old ski guy on this forum.

  24. Well I don't post much but My name is Dave Macchi and I have been skiing since I was 5 yrs old and competing from age 10. I am 41 yrs old and a Firefighter in the Orlando area. I lived in SF bay area for most of my life. Started skiing at Berkeley Aquatic Park in '75. Horton you know that place where the '80 western regionals were held and it was COLD!!!!!! Once the private lakes started to draw all the events took my skiing to the Sacramento area. In '04 my family moved to Florida where we have just 2 seasons warm and hot.. I have seen an awful lot of changes in this sport from boats, age groups and speeds to today's current format. Heck I could remember when you could get a regional rating in practice if there was a judge in the boat and the time was good. OH YA no PP, ZO or automatic timing all by hand. If you could only do that today. I will probably keep skiing until I loose a limb or I get so confused my wife will tell me I just got back from the lake and I skied great.
